At the farthest edge of the afterlife, beyond the endless curve of Snake Way, sat a planet so small it could barely fit a house, a few trees, and a car. Calling it a "planet" was generous—it was little more than a green marble suspended in a sea of golden clouds. Yet despite its size, it was home to one of the highest authority being in the northern galaxies—King Kai.
At the moment, the great overseer of the North was doing what he loved most: lounging on a deck chair, sipping lemon tea, and laughing at his favorite comedy magazine.
"Haha! A Namekian, a Saiyan, and a Frieza soldier walk into a bar—oh, this one's a classic!" King Kai wheezed, holding his belly as his antennae twitched with joy. "Man, these jokes never get old!"
But just as he flipped the page, his laughter froze mid-chuckle. His round sunglasses reflected a faint ripple in the air—two ki signatures had appeared, shimmering just outside the planet's gravitational field. His expression shifted instantly from amused to alarmed. Few beings could casually cross into his domain unannounced.
"Oh no… that's divine ki!" he muttered, standing abruptly. "This can't be good."
A soft hum of energy followed as two silhouettes materialized on the grassy surface. One was short and regal, dressed in elegant Kai attire, his lavender skin and calm demeanor radiating authority. Beside him stood a taller, crimson-skinned attendant with long white hair and sharp eyes that spoke of absolute loyalty.
King Kai blinked, then straightened his robe in a hurry. "L-Lord Shin! And Kibito! What brings the Supreme Kai to my humble little planet?"
Shin gave a courteous nod, though his expression was grave. "Forgive the intrusion, King Kai. We come with troubling news."
King Kai's jovial grin faltered. "Troubling? Uh oh, that's never good coming from you."
Kibito stepped forward, his deep voice resonating like polished stone. "A warlord named Duragon is moving through the eastern sectors. He and his three generals are now advancing toward your quadrant—your Northern Galaxy."
King Kai frowned deeply, folding his arms. "Duragon… I've never heard of him. Are we talking another self-proclaimed conqueror, or something more serious?"
Shin's face tightened, the air around him almost dimming. "He's far beyond that. Duragon rules the Southern and Eastern Galaxies with absolute control. Entire civilizations bow under his command. Planets that resist… vanish."
For a moment, silence hung in the air, heavy and oppressive. Even King Kai's pet monkey Bubbles froze mid-banana bite.
King Kai swallowed hard, his cheerful demeanor gone. "That's… that's bad. Really bad."
Shin nodded solemnly. "Worse still—he's set his sights on a planet within your jurisdiction."
King Kai's antennae twitched. "Which planet?"
Shin's gaze lowered slightly. "Earth."
The word hit King Kai like a thunderclap. His antennae stiffened, his sunglasses slipping slightly down his nose. "E-Earth!? But—why Earth!? What could he possibly want there!?"
Shin sighed. "He's hunting someone. A Saiyan, to be precise. One who killed one of his four generals."
King Kai froze, blinking rapidly. "Wait… one of his generals? You mean to tell me Goku somehow picked another fight across galaxies!?"
Kibito shook his head. "No. Not Goku."
Shin continued quietly, "This Saiyan's name… is Razor."
King Kai's laughter—his easygoing tone, his usual comic relief—all vanished in that instant. His expression hardened, antennae twitching nervously as memories surfaced.
"R-Razor…" he muttered. "I remember that name. The Saiyan who came to Earth not long ago. He challenged everyone—Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Gohan and even Cell. He even threatened to destroy the planet unless everyone fought him at once."
Bubbles whimpered softly, hiding behind the car.
Shin raised an eyebrow. "So you know of him."
"Oh, I know him," King Kai said grimly. "That lunatic's power was terrifying. But he didn't actually destroy Earth. He just left."
Shin nodded. "According to our information, he disappeared from known space for some time. But recently, his name resurfaced—when one of Duragon's four generals, Tirax, was killed on a distant planet. His energy signature and appearance matches the one that killed Tirax."
King Kai rubbed his chin, pacing in tight circles. "So Duragon's coming after him… and Earth just happens to be where he is now."
Shin folded his arms. "Exactly. Once Duragon sets his sight on a planet, he doesn't negotiate. He eradicates."
King Kai looked up sharply. "We can't just sit around then! If that monster is heading to Earth, we need to warn Goku and the others right away!"
Kibito's expression darkened. "It won't matter. Even the Supreme Kai cannot stop Duragon once he moves. His army is vast, his generals each wield powers rivaling entire worlds. You'd be warning them to prepare for their own destruction."
King Kai puffed out his cheeks in determination. "Hey, don't count Goku out so fast! He and his friends have stopped every kind of crazy threat that's come their way."
Shin tilted his head slightly, his curiosity piqued. "You sound… confident in them."
King Kai grinned faintly despite the tension. "You bet I am. They're reckless, loud, and half the time they blow up the planet they're trying to protect—but they always find a way."
Shin exchanged a glance with Kibito, his lips curving into a faint, thoughtful smile. "Perhaps it's time I see these warriors for myself."
King Kai brightened, antennae perking up. "Really? You'll do?"
"Yes," Shin said softly. "Duragon is very powerful and the fate of more than just one planet may hang in the balance. Even the whole Northern Galaxy might be swept in the storm if we don't do anything."
Without wasting another moment, Kibito raised his hand. A bright column of energy enveloped them, and in the next instant, the quiet of his tiny world vanished into the rush of teleportation.
The next thing they saw was the wide expanse of blue sky and the shimmering palace of Kami's Lookout. The platform floated serenely above the world, bathed in golden sunlight, as Mr. Popo tended to the garden below.
King Kai adjusted his glasses, looking around. "Ah, Kami's Lookout."
The attendants on the platform turned at the sudden arrival, startled by the divine presences that appeared before them. Shin's calm voice echoed across the marble floor.
"I am Shin, the Supreme Kai of this universe," he said gently. "We come bearing urgent news."
Mr. Popo looked confused as he never heard of Supreme Kai.
King Kai stepped forward, his usual grin gone. "We are here to see Goku and his friends. It's important."
Popo hesitated, then nodded quickly. "Of course. I'll inform Dende at once."
As the wind carried their words across the sacred tower, the heavens above Earth seemed deceptively peaceful. Birds soared, the sun gleamed, and the world continued unaware of the storm approaching from the depths of the stars.
Far beyond the galaxy's reach, a colossal warship carved through space like a blade through silk. Inside, Duragon sat upon his throne, eyes glowing like molten gold as he gazed at the holographic projection of a blue planet. His lips curved into a cold, predatory smile.
"Earth," he muttered. "So that's where the Saiyan hides."
And with that, the engines roared, pushing the warlord and his armies ever closer to the world that had unknowingly become their next battleground.
