Declan drove to his closest property which was a two bedroom apartment. Throughout the drive, he didn't dare to look at the passenger seat. He didn't know what to say and was afraid her cute face would distract him.
Lili didn't think it was her duty to make small talk so the car remained silent.
Even though it was one of his cheaper properties, it was still located in a high end residential area with strick security.
He rolled down his window letting the guard scan his face before the gate opened.
He drove straight to the garage and got out of the car accidentally locking eyes with Lili on the other side.
He Xiang's breathing quickened and he went across the car in a few steps, dragging her into his arms and kissing her deeply.
Lili responded in turn as she clutched the sides of his shirt. His tongue swept through her mouth like a strong wave.
Lili's body shuddered and her leg buckled. Why did Declan seem different today?
Declan noticed she was unsteady on her feet and supported her by placing two hands around her waist and lifting her up.
Lili immediately wrapped her legs around his waist and her hands around his shoulder.
He kissed her again a few times before walking inside. He placed her on the living room sofa and when she wanted to kiss him, he pulled back much to her confusion.
Declan sniffed. He realized that whenever they were together, one thing would lead to another and they would almost certainly end in bed.
He didn't know anything about her as she was like an aphrodisiac to him. To him, she was a match while he was gasoline.
It was like that was the only way he could convince himself she completely belonged to him.
He cleared his throat and rubbed her cheek a few times.
"We're not doing that today."
Lili looked at the unmistakable bulge in his pants that was staring right at her.
"Oh."
Declan laughed softly at her reaction.
"Can you cook?"
Lili was still confused by the whole things and subconsciously nodded. She mostly had to make her own meals so she could say she was a fairly good good.
Declan stretched out his palm and Lili, still not knowing what was happening, put her hand in his.
He led her to the kitchen. Lili was in awe. As someone who treated eating as a form of survival, if she had such a kitchen she would probably love cooking alot.
But she still couldn't understand what Declan was getting at. Unsure, she asked.
"Do you want me to...cook for you?"
Declan smiled a nodded.
"You don't want to?"
Lili frowned slightly. The food she made couldn't be eaten by just anyone so she tried to subtly reject him.
"Don't you have cooks to do that, why should I cook for you?"
Declan tilted his head, looking surprised. "Aren't you my girlfriend? Don't girlfriends cook for theur boyfriends?"
Lili was tempted to say it was just real couples who could do that but she swallowed the words. She told herself that this was her boss for the next three months.
Whatever he said was the law.
"No problem."
She didn't know where most things were located so Declan helped her. Something was terribly wrong somewhere but she just couldn't put her hand on it yet.
With his healp, they were able to make a table of dishes enough for just two. She was quite surprised at his skills. She didn't think he would actually know how to cook.
But it's natural that she didn't know. After all, their relationship had only previously involved getting in bed and then out of it.
The sat beside each other and Declan would pick dishes for her from time to time.
"How's it?"
Lili had to admit that his involvement has increased the quality of the food. It wasn't five star good but a lot better than what she usually made.
Or maybe it was the quality of the ingredients working. Either way, she answered honestly.
"It tastes good. Much better than what I usually make."
Declan beamed.
"Then I'll teach you."
Lili paused slightly. She didn't remember signing up for a catering class. But looking at Declan's proud face, she mentally shrugged. Maybe he was just looking for a way to show off.
"I would love that."
They finished eating and did the dishes together. Lili thought they would continue from where they stopped but Declan turned on the television and sat with his arms wrapped around her.
Lili waited and waited but he didn't make a move. She slowly forgot about it and got invested in the show.
A funny part came on and she laughed, wanted to make commentary to Declan but stopped short when she realized who she was with.
Declan raised an eyebrow.
"Hmm?"
Lili shook her head.
"Nothing."
She turned back to the screen, thankful that he didn't pursue it.
Declan watched her staring intently at the screen and couldn't help but lean down to place a kiss on her cheek. The atmosphere was so deceiving that he couldn't help but say what was on his mind.
Lili's brain which had been clouded by the atmosphere recovered.
"What do you mean by that? It's my job."
Declan realized he had spoken out of turn and changed his words.
"You're my girlfriend now. It won't look good on me."
Lili wasn't convinced.
"I was your girlfriend before and you didn't say anything."
Declan drew circles on her arm carelessly.
"Can you compare that time to now?"
Lili thought about it and realized it was true. Not to mention the time frame, even the money she would get was different.
After breaking up the first time, she got a one million severance fee and to date her for three months, Declan directly paid her ten million so it could be said to be quite different.
She didn't resist anymore.
"Okay."
A soft smile spread on Declan's lips and he kissed thr back of her ear.
"Good girl."
