Serena stood in front of the tall framed mirror, twirling around in her new sky-blue dress. After both the grand fiasco at the Royal Palace and the wildly irritating encounter with Arielle during her Greek lessons, she felt that she had been slowly but surely losing the spotlight in both high society and her own house.
She needed to regain control. She couldn't stand being outshone by someone as unworthy as that bastard rogue Arielle.
"No one would be able to take their eyes off me today," she smiled to Hanna in the reflection. "This dress looks stunning on me."
Her maid nodded, running toward her with a jewelry box in her hands. "Wait till everyone sees you in your family diamonds, Miss! Their jaws will drop all the way to the ground!"
"You're silver-tongued," Serena smirked, moving her hair away to expose her neck. "But you are right. Put the necklace on. Today's spotlight is definitely going to be on me."
