ARIELLE
I stood in the driveway leading to Daniella's part of the royal mansion, anxious to take another step forward. I could have asked the driver to bring me all the way to the main entrance, but I needed some time to collect myself.
Every time I had to set foot in this place, I couldn't shake off the nagging feeling of regret.
I marred this place with so much blood for Raiden. I still found it hard to believe that now, everything looked so peaceful and still.
I did not want to subject this place to any more bloodshed and death. Not by my hand, at least.
I was so utterly consumed by my inner thoughts that I had failed to notice that I had somehow wandered off to the royal garden, which was quite far from Luna's quarters.
"Great," I sighed, looking around the maze of tall trees and flower bushes. "It's a good thing I came to the palace two hours earlier, otherwise I would make a fool of myself by being late!"
"Arielle?"
