Raiden watched as the golden whiskey glistened under the dimmed light of the crystal chandelier, his messy thoughts continuously drifting back to the scene he witnessed several days ago.
"That girl appeared out of nowhere, stirred up a storm during one of the most important events in this kingdom, and then became the toast of the capital... It was way too easy... As if she had everything planned beforehand."
He smirked, downing his drink in one go, a long sigh escaping his lips as the warmth spread throughout his chest.
"Drinking again?" Emma's voice rang through his quiet study, and the moment he shifted his eyes at the doorway, Raiden frowned, irritated by his mother's unceremonious appearance without prior notice.
"I am stressed," he said casually, "I want to relax in peace and quiet if you don't mind."
