Swoosh!
Katara laughed as she sailed through the skies above the Kyoshi Island. She left rain trails behind her as she flew, her water wings helping her maintain control.
"This is so fun! It's like being a free bird able to do whatever you want. Is this how you feel every time you fly?!" Katara asked with a broad smile on her face, her blue eyes overflowing with happiness and excitement.
Yesterday, after failing to float for more than 10 seconds, Katara was about to try again when Norrak suggested that she use water wings on her back to control her body.
This helped Katara find a way to actually stay in control of where she is flying and also allowed her a much faster flight. Now, she can't only levitate, but she can also soar across the skies like a bird.
Norrak smiled, watching Katara from a bit behind as he heard her excited laughs. He couldn't help but be slightly content with his life as he decided to pick up the pace.
Norrak raced after her from behind, and he smirked before increasing his speed, easily catching up to Katara and then promptly overtaking her in the race, taking first place.
Boom!
Norrak broke the sound barrier, and Katara shouted in frustration as she saw Norrak pass her. She could see him fly past her, a tiny smirk on his face as he turned towards her.
But her flying was different from his, and so she could do nothing but watch as he reached the final place on the island. On the other side, a group of people were waiting at the finishing line.
Boom!
Sokka and Suki froze, the winning rope in their hands ripped in half as Norrak slammed his feet onto the ground. He continued moving forward, digging his foot into the ground before coming to a stop.
Two rows of smoke drifted from the ground, and Norrak turned around, his white hair overshadowing his eyes, before he looked up, a grin on his face.
"I win~," Norrak announced, and just then, Katara swooped down from he sky, smashing into Norrak's chest and dragging him to the floor for a while.
Norrak chuckled as he created a trench, while Katara lay on his chest, almost like he was a skeeboard. The Kyoshi warriors, Suki and Sokka, walked towards the two.
"What was that speed? If you two could fly like that all the time, then you would make it to the Northern water tribe in hours!" Sokka said with glowing eyes, and Norrak nodded as he stood up.
"Actually, we wanted to speak with you alone, Sokka. Follow us for a bit," Norrak said as he turned to walk a bit away from the group. Sokka shrugged before following, Suki looking with a hint of disappointment.
"Is he going to leave with those two? I guess there is nothing I can do, he is the brother of the avatar, after all," Suki muttered as she turned around to walk away.
She was disappointed that Sokka could leave any day now with his sister and brother-in-law. But she will not try to stop him from going if he wishes.
"Wait a minute, Suki! Come here. I wanna tell you this as well," Norrak called out from behind her, and Suki turned around with a confused look. Sokka shot him a look, confused about what was going on.
Suki turned back and walked next to Sokka with confusion. Katara sighed, looking at the two standing next to each other, before Norrak finally spoke.
"Alright, listen here, Sokka, after a few days of thinking, between Katara and me. We came to a final conclusion," Norrak began, his tone serious and Katara looking firm.
"Huh? About what? Did the two of you finally come to admit that you two are just blue-eyed wizards?" Sokka said with a grin, and the two stared at him with a deadpan face.
"No, we came to a conclusion to leave you on the Kyoshi Island with Suki and the others," Norrak finished in one sentence, and Sokka froze for a second.
The first to react was Suki, a nd she had a happy look that she quickly hid. Sokka, on the other hand, was livid and kind of betrayed as he stared at Norrak and Katara.
"What!!! Why would you come to that conclusion? And what makes you think I want to stay here?!" Sokka said, his hands shaking as he continued talking with anger.
"Sokka, I know you're only worried about Katara's safety. But don't worry, I will protect her. Instead, you should stay, and train with Suki," Norrak said with a firm face, and Sokka felt his shoulders slump.
"Oh man... This is so lame, I wanted to go with the two of you, watch as the Fire Lord is defeated by Katara," Sokka whined, his eyes dropping, and Norrak chuckled.
"Hey, instead you have a wonderful girl to look after you, I wouldn't be mad-urgh!" Norrak stopped taunting, a pinch on his waist as Katara shot him a glare from the side.
"Anyway, what Norrak meant to say is that it's final, and no, you will not continue on the journey with us. That's an order," Katara said with a fierce tone, and Sokka shivered as he nodded.
"Okay, I will stay. But when are the two of you leaving for the Earth Kingdom?" Sokka asked with a curious gaze, and Norrak placed a finger up.
"Tomorrow?"
[Omashu...]
"Hahahaha! This is so much fun!" Bumi laughed outloud as he watched the floor while dangling in the air inside a metal cage, his eyes wandering at the sight below.
Down below, Ty Lee was doing a bunch of jumps, almost like she was still in a circle. She was practising for her plan, or more like Azula's plan, to work flawlessly.
"Hey, young girl! Your jumps are almost like an old friend of mine!" Bumi exclaimed at the athletic jumps of Ty Lee, remembering Aang with a nostalgic look in his old eyes.
"Tch! Shut up, you old geezer!" Azula shouted with annoyance as she stopped training. Sweat slid down her temple, and her clothes stuck to her skin, outlining her figure.
"You three! Take this delusional man to a different place!" Azula ordered, and three Fire Nation soldiers stepped up to lower the cage. They then took Bumi out, leaving the three girls in the massive room alone.
"Ty Lee, Mai, are you done with what I told you?" Azula asked as she looked at Mai, who leaned against the wall, not in haste, and the sweat slickened Ty Lee, who stopped training.
"Yes, I got everything ready," Mai replied.
