Daesos blew into the handkerchief given to her by the polite mouse demon and stared at him.
She didn't go back home after the banquet fiasco and instead wandered back to the Huli Jing clan. Feeling too annoyed to go back to the Huli Jing palace, she had picked this famous brothel and been staying here up till now.
Most of the escorts are sweet , Some of them tried showing their fancy towards her but she stated clearly to them that she's not playing around.
So they all stuck to playing cards with her , playing instruments for her or like this mouse demon here; offering her a listening ear.

She sat up and sighed with exhaustion , the mouse demon handed her some tea and biscuits to make her feel comfortable.

Mr Mouse sighed and rubbed his forehead " I had a fiance like that too , it was an arranged marriage between our families and we were childhood sweethearts. During the war between the snake demon tribe and the Huli Jing clan , my parents were killed during a raid and I had to join this brothel to survive. He came over hear a few years ago to relieve his desires, at first I was so happy but when I tried talking to him , he shouted at me saying He was already married and even have a lot of children; that I shouldn't ruin his marriage "
He tsked " Like he wasn't the one who came to a brothel … Men pleh "

Daeosos sighed "I should forgive her , besides she only saw my picture , I shouldn't have blamed her too much, I just need to talk to her and visit her even more , maybe her heart will bloom and she will love me back "

A peacock demon stretched his head into the room, he winked at daeosos before moving his finger in a 'come here' motion" Little mouse , there's a customer seeking you downstairs "
" okay " He smiled and pinched her cheeks , her eyes teared up but she still endured , her behavior reminded him of his younger self.
Naive, kind , trusting and a bit stupid.
A few broken hearts never hurt anyone, it would make her see the world in a more mature perspective.
He got up to leave " Honey , you can go to the market and listen to a bit of gossips that will lighten your mood "

She wore her cloak and skipped to the Huli Jing market.Â
The Huli Jing clan was friendly no doubt, everyone seem to like gossiping and sharing stories , they also love their brothels very much, the brothel was always full at any time of the day.
If she really ends up staying here , it won't be too bad.
Due to her long habit of always looking at the ground, she didn't see the incoming demon.
The two of them collided quite heavily with one another , daesos lost her footing and was about to fall to the ground when she felt a large rough hand steady her .
She looked to the side , it was a sharp looking young man
 " Princess Daesos " his voice was soft.
She blinked in confusion " How do you know my name?"
" I am prince Khalid , tribe leader brother"
She tried to see the resemblance in the both of them but it was impossible, he was sharp looking and even had a playful edge , there was a slight smile on his neutral face making him look friendly , meanwhile tribe leader was gloomy looking with a dark edge , even when she smiled, it looked like she was forcing herself.
She decided that she will get back to him later , she looked at the man she bumped into , it was a young man but with the pink dot in between his brows.
Demons may look like they had eternal life but they are not gods. They maintained eternal youth and beauty , however once they were nearing the end of their life, a pink dot will suddenly appear in between their brows.
The older they get , the deeper the pink pigment.
The man dot was a bright pink, he was at the end of his life, probably a few years left.
She bowed " I am so sorry sir "
The old demon laughed and shook his head " No worries…daesos?"
Khalid glared at the man " It's princess daesos "
The man smile was chilling "You are quite hostile"
"What do you want with her?"
Just like that his face soften " Oh nothing really, it's just that her way of speaking reminds me of my late daughter"
Daesos felt pity for the man and decided to keep him company a bit" She took his firewood from him , the man tried to take it back but she held on to it " Let me help you with it ; where are you going?"
" Not too far , that shop at the end of the street"
" Let's go "
Khalid must still feel a little guarded because he followed them at a reasonable distance.
She smiled at the old demon " So tell me more about your daughter"
" My daughter? She's a lovely young demon . She learned all the tricks I taught her about martial arts and she learned how to fight; she's gentle and sweet, but after she got married she didn't visit us anymore, we didn't hear from her again until they brought her dead body back home.
Daesos felt tears welling up in her eyes; why was many pasts so sad today? " I am so sorry "

Wow , the name sure sound familiar but where did she hear it? "You can just call me daesos"
Mr Tongan shook his head and pointed at Khalid watching them " I don't think your friend will be happy"
She looked at Khalid then look at Tongan; she later shrugged in defeat and waved goodbye " See you later "

She skipped over to Khalid side and they made their way back home.
A wind blew and her hood fell down showing off her bright red hair , it burned like the sun attracting gazes , Khalid sighed and helped her to put it back on .
" You are not guarded at all , what if that old man had purposely came to you? What if he was planning on hurting you? how did you manage to come here without been robbed ?"
" Who said I didn't got robbed?"
" Then how did you get more money?"
" I just told the robbers pretty please and they gave me back 75 percent of my money, they even let me ride on their horses here"
"...." Khalid lips twitched and a helpless smile graced his face , it looked like he was looking at a pretty animal " No wonder my sister likes you so much"
Daesos interpreted the ' like ' as a friendly one , she shook her head vigorously " Tribe leader hates me , even when she greets me she never looks at my face and ignores in other times ; She wants to bite my head off "
'That's the biggest proof that she likes you very much'

"Just want to take something important back, I'll be gone in three days"
