Summer didn't know why but he had been feeling a bit on the edge lately. It was as of something bad was about to happen but he didn't know when or how, leaving him frustrated.
Bai zu seeing he was distracted couldn't help but tap him with his fan in dissatisfaction.

Summer rubbed his forehands "Dont ever use that tone again, I just got goosebumps "
Someone knocked on the door and poked his head in, it was a Peacock demon.
"General Summer?"
"Yes"
"Someone is looking for you downstairs"
Summer checked his mental list for who it might be but nothing came forth, he shrugged and stood up to check.
Bai zu wanted to follow him out but he shook his head in refusal.
"Stay upstairs and play by yourself"
"Stingy " Bai zu went back to playing the chess " Buy some wine when you're coming up "
"Okay"
Summer climbed down and went straight to the reception but there was no one there. He looked around in confusion before a premonition flashed in his head.
He slowly turned around, instead of the peacock demon , there was a familiar yet unfamiliar man staring at him.
The face was 2 part male , 8 part Thunder.
The last thing he remembered was a chilling sensation on his neck before he went unconscious.

Bai zu waited for a long time but neither Summer nor the wine was back. He opened his fan and started waving it around with a strong force.
"If he wanted to escape chess , he should just say no. What business was so important, he is not done in an hour?"
He waited for 30 more minutes before going downstairs, on the way he met the peacock demon. Bai zu tapped him on the shoulder with his fan.
" Where's Summer? is he still with the visitor?"
The demon blinked in confusion "What visitor? I just came back on an errand "
There are three things that went through Bai zu head.
One , maybe it's a prank.

Three , maybe Summer was planning on playing a prank but ended up getting missing.
Either way, Summer was no where to be found.
He ran outside and checked the markets, After checking the markets , he checked nearby brothels.
Summer was really missing.
He had no idea who could have taken Summer, after all Summer was a common enemy. Where will he start from in finding summer?
Summer have told him that no matter whatever happens he can't ask for help from the royal family.
'What to do ... What to do....'
The last time Summer had gotten kidnapped, he had came back himself in 2 days , bruised up but still safe and well. It could happen again.
He finally decided to wait for a bit, if Summer wasn't back in a week, he doesn't care, he will go straight to the Huli Jing royal family for help.

Summer was startled awake by the the excruciating pain in his butt area, His eyes darted around and he saw 8 tails lying down listlessly on the ground covered in blood.
His tails.
A rational demon seeing his tails ( Lives) lying on the floor will panic and probably start screaming to obtain mercy but Summer was no rational demon.
He was a general who have killed lots of demons both innocent and guilty. He had breathe and led deaths including capital punishments.
The ghosts have haunt him all his life showing him how he will die , His heart being plucked out, his tails ripped out , shot in the head nine times ...
But to be honest with himself, the person was actually quite neat and efficient, the pain in his butt area was excuriating but not death like, the technique was similar to the old torture methods of the Huli Jing soldiers, the Huli Jing have gone through a reformation and they no longer practice torture methods, just straight up chemical administration of medications.
'Could the person be a retired soldier?'
He heard the door opening and he sat up with difficulty. The first thing he saw was a pair of dirty shoes, followed by a coarse peasant robe, a tray carrying food and tea then the familiar yet unfamiliar face.
They both stared at each other before Summer broke the silence with a stiff smile.
"Wu lan"
"My name is Wu Tongan " He mumbled quietly, his face doesn't seem hostile as if he wasn't the one craving out Summer tails earlier "I took my wife surname"
"I was wondering when you would come to take revenge"
"I was waiting for the right time" He dropped the tray on the bed and turned to leave " I am done, I will bury your tails in the back of the house "
" just stab me "
"I won't kill you Summer!" At last , the amicable look on Tongan face disappeared, and he sneered " killing you is making things too easy for you"
"Wu lan"
"It's Tongan! " He pointed his finger at Summer, his voice stiff "Your punishment is to be alive as everyone sees you for who you truly are , a man who ruined his subordinate only child life , a man who craved for his best friend despite knowing that his best friend didn't have feelings for anyone except his throne, a man who ruined his best friend marriage over feelings that should have been buried!"
Summer flinched, his eyes gradually turned red as if he had been stabbed in the heart.
" I have already taken my daughter debt from you , I took your tails but your remaining life…" Tears gathered in Tongan eyes and he sniffed "you owe it to me and my late wife, the people who trusted you because you were our general a long time ago "
Tongan turned and left.
Long after the Mr Tongan have left , Summer lied down again and started to count the time passing.
He took the plate and threw it on the wall ; ignoring the mess on the floor, he then took a piece and aimed it at his heart.
"It hurts…"
It only pierced the skin , it didn't go deep.
Feeling frustrated he pulled it out and threw it aside. He lied down on the floor ignoring the shards of ceramic burrowing into his skin.
"i wonder if Bai zu and Su yan will visit me after I die , Su yan will probably not , but Bai zu will …I should have given him something before I left though and Winter…"
He swallowed and looked up, if they looked closely, his eyes were red .
"Why doesn't anything ever go well "
