The moment Broody stepped a foot into the palace , his muscles went taut and he couldn't help but shrink even lower to his torso.
The Huli Jing palace was known for it's skin crawling sensation whenever someone trespassed into it , however it have never reached a level as this. It was as if there was a silent aura covering the entire palace, waiting to pounce at a single mistake.
His skin crawled again, and he rubbed his forearm.
"Whose aura is this?"
"It's My brother"
Broody jumped out of shock , he turned back to look at the intruder but no one was there.
He felt someone grab his hand and throw him against a tree . His back slammed so hard against the tree , he saw stars.
His back was definitely in bad condition but thankfully the back of his head was safe , Kate had used her hand to cushion his head.
Kate entire body caged his exit, when he raised his head to stare at her , there was a small smile on her face.
"Going out past bed time little prince?"
He let out a frustrated sigh " I just wanted to see my friend "
"He's taking a good rest at the moment so he won't be available… come another time "
"No I want to see him now "
"Well you can't "
Broody lips twitched, he glared at Kate for a full minute before sighing in resignation.
"Okay "
Kate stared at him before removing her hand from his head and moving to the side. As soon as Broody stepped a foot out of her cage , he turned and ran into the palace.
He was caught the next second and this time he was slammed on a nearby pillar. He groaned and pushed her, when she didn't move , he glared at her.
"Nothing gets pass your eyes"
"Hmm " She moved closer to him , her blue eyes twinkled when she saw him flush red "Let's say it's revenge for you messing with me in the mortal realm"
"It was just one time and you didn't even remember me "
"Who would remember a little kid who used to hide behind his sister all the time? Besides…"
Broody raised a brow " Besides what?!"
Kate eyes went down then back up to his , her voice went husky " You changed a lot…so much it's unsettling…"
Her eyes went purple and electricity sparkled , her ears popped out and 9 tails waved at her back , she was so close to him , her breath was touching his lips.
"Do you want to kiss?" She place a small peck on his lips before he could answer " I'm a good kisser , I'll make you feel good"
Broody was flaggabasted.
"Are …are you that determined to keep me out of the palace?"

Broody stiffened, it was so fast , Kate thought she imagined it.

Broody smiled in relief " Thank you "
Seeing the smile, Kate eyes sparkled and her tail started to wag. Her ears even started to twitch.
Broody could have swore he heard 'so pretty' before she caged him again "You're under arrest "

Kate grabbed his wrist , her eyes turned purple "You sonova- "

He raised his flushed face " That's cheating"

"Then you're not going home " her tails started to wag and she let go to grab his wrist "You stay here and reflect on your mistakes "

Kate wrapped her arms around him and started to carry him into the palace there was a huge smile on her face as if she was dragging prey in.

The Huli Jing dungeon was the emptiest room in the palace. Its stone walls were damp and air flowed slowly, giving it a sense of isolation. It was originally made as a punishment chamber for disobedient generals and attendants however things were often chaotic so it laid forgotten, it was even occasionally used as a warehouse.
For the first time, it was occupied by one person, due to the person dignified status, he wasn't even chained down and some books were placed on the table. It was like given a room for board and rest.
The dungeon gates creaked open and someone stood in front of the cell , his eyes cold.
Winter pretended to be asleep for a while, sensing that his visitor have no intention of moving, he sat up and stared at Nick.
"Autumn, what do you want?"
"What did you say to him ?"
"I have repeated it many times, what happened between me and General Taohua that day stays between us "
Nick moved closer, his eyes sucken and his lips were pale.
"How do I wake him up?"
Winter rubbed his forehead " For the nth time, he will wake up himself "
Nick started to pace up and down, he put his fingers into his mouth and started to chew. "Bei Shang have never been asleep for more than a month… it's been two months now. He's not responding to treatment, he's not responding to calls , his poison have reactivated "
He put his fingers into his scalp and pulled his hair , his eyes turned red " I keep having dreams of him drifting off to the afterlife, never coming back…"

He suddenly stopped, his eyes filled with terror " What if he wants to leave me again?!!!"
Winter clenched his fists; When autumn symptoms started as a child, it didn't detoriate up to this extent. He was crazy but not to the extent of being insecure.
Now he have met general Taohua , it seems to have gotten worse. All his negative traits are out to be seen , even his aura is unstable.

"Stop talking!" Nick shouted, his body was trembling and his true form peaked out. His Seven tails lashed around violently giving him an otherworldly aura , he closed his eyes and sighed "Everyone keeps telling me to let go… what do you understand…what do you all understand.."
People often said yearning stopped at the 5th reincarnation, the heart of a person was after all frickle. But this yearning of his carried on for so long it became a part of him.

"Autumn you bastard son " Winter eyes blurred with tears " All for that demi God who will leave you one day?!"

Nick's body froze. Slowly, he turned, his face calm—too calm. His eyes held none of the anger from moments before, only a cold, detached resignation.
