Stephanie's POV
After the incident, Cane had increased security around the house..He added more guards. I'm pretty sure he kept bodyguards to keep watch over me while I go out but it didn't bother me. Somehow, calm had returned and so did his, what do I call it? Online doctoring? Cane had decided my shoes are public enemy number one.
"You can't wear those," he said this morning, pointing at my favorite black heels. If he hadn't looked like he was disarming a bomb, I would have thought he was joking.
"They're just shoes," I argued. "I've been walking in heels since I was sixteen. Why is it a problem now?"
"Well, at sixteen, you weren't carrying my child," he said, crossing his arms. That line was starting to annoy me. Why did he have to bring the baby into everything?
