Two days have passed since Reika went over everything with me about what I'd be doing at the port. I was in position on top of a an old abandoned watch tower, one that they decommissioned awhile back.
She dropped me off here about an hour ago so I had enough time to prepare myself for what would come next.
I could see the giant glass tubes that hold the mana as well, the blue was glowing all throughout it. All of it seemed to be cycling underground somewhere but it wasn't obvious where.
The building itself didn't look like anything special, just like an ordinary depot building with a few guards out front.
I'm feeling a bit impatient, the others are taking their time to get here. I set-up pretty quick since it doesn't take that much for me to get everything together.
Everyone seems to be confident in this plan, besides Rezex and I. It's a gamble at the end of the day.
She also didn't tell me much about what we were doing with this port, didn't she say about taking it during that meeting? That feels like it would be impossible if the government cares so much about it.
Wait, yeah. They talked about securing this port altogether, that feels like it'll be impossible if the government is watching it.
They also wouldn't just give up a place like this.
Unless she is planning to hack the system to make it seem like we are the soldiers here, that would mean there is no suspicion of the place being attacked.
Taking out the current soldiers is the main goal without raising an alarm so we can swap them out for our people. That's what I've gathered at least.
I don't get how she got Rezex to help when he wasn't for this whole thing but on begin with. That's the only other thing that is throwing me off quite a bit.
But finally I could see a car heading towards the building, that should be Pinky and the others. Seems like everything is finally going into motion.
Looking through the scope I could see about four guards around the entrance.
"Wait until they make it inside, then take out the guards outside." Reika instructed over a comm.
"Aye aye Captain." I responded while looking around the area.
So they are probably playing the part already and I just need to handle the people outside. This seems a bit more promising if she's already that far ahead with this whole plan.
And they are out of the car now, time to see how the exchange goes. It looks like Pinky talks with the guards for a moment before they let them inside.
Doesn't seem like there was any problems with them entering the building which is a good sign.
I gave it a few moments after the others entered the building and made sure that the suppressor was on. There wouldn't be a lot of time once I started since they will probably try to go for cover.
Without wasting any time I flipped one of the levers on the side of the LZR-01, allowing for two of them to be targeted upon firing. This being a netwire gun with a prototype feature like this is deadly.
Two people can be taken out with one shot so I just need to fire this sniper twice and then the targets are down. It's shocking that the government hasn't dealt with the gang problems when they have power like this at their disposal.
Maybe not the LZR-01 but the netwire guns in general. Tracking people takes out so much of the work needed to kill anyone.
I pulled the trigger, listening to the sound of the suppressor echo off the old walls of this building. Within the next second I pulled the trigger a second time.
Watching through the scope I could see the bullets pierce through the four targets at hand, each one dropping to the ground before they could react.
They really did make a strong sniper, something that others will eventually come to fear. I didn't even infuse any mana into the shots either so this was nice and easy.
"Targets out front are dead." I said over the comms with a calm tone.
"Good. I'll have Rezex handle the bodies." Reika replied over the comm.
Now I'm just stuck waiting around to see if anyone else shows up. Reinforcements should be unlikely since there was no disturbance outside.
The only way for it now... Would be if they f*ck up inside.
I didn't expect a mana port to feel so unguarded but I guess they can't put all of the troops around one port. There's quite a few of them, just they haven't made the most out of mana yet.
Last I heard, cyborgs were the main focus for them to experiment with. People that were mostly becoming machines, but it would've made sense to rely more on androids instead.
Common misconception between the two, especially when someone doesn't have the right education.

There wasn't anything going on, no people, no reinforcements, nothing.
"We are currently working on the system in here." Reika said over the comm with a bit of stress in her voice.
"Good luck." I responded back.
Makes sense why it is so damn quiet. Everything inside is handled for now, but now Reika has to finish up with the system so we don't have any issues.
It'll be pretty boring out here. Wasn't there supposed to be some backup from another gang as well?
Lotus/9. They were the guys who were supposed to be here to help with any sort of support. Yet, I haven't seen a single one of them since we've arrived.
That's kind of odd, why wouldn't they already be here?
