Regardless of Rezex being out here or not doesn't mean anything since we need to take out the guys inside. That much he was completely right about so that's the main focus.
So I followed behind Rezex with my deagle ready, keeping an eye out for any potential enemies. There was no guarantee that more wouldn't show up so it was best to get this done quickly.
It wasn't hard to keep quiet while following behind Rezex since I had to be quiet for a few jobs already. The inside of the depot was definitely quite a sight though.
Glowing blue light was flowing throughout all these different glass tubes in the ceiling that went down into the ground.
I did also notice that blood was dripping down Rezex's arm which was kind of surprising. He must've taken some damage from one of the guys attacking.
"The rest of our crew is downstairs, we can't let the enemy know we are here. The element of surprise will do us quite a bit of good." Rezex said quietly.
"Then let's keep quiet." I replied while looking ahead.
Sneaking through the depot wasn't too bad since we didn't have to worry about security issues. The only concerning part here was the lack of gunfire.
There wasn't really any shooting, why wasn't there any shooting?
Rezex gestured towards an open door for us to go through. I just continued following behind him until we finally reach the bottom floor. Giant blue tanks filled with mana were all around us, the same heavily armed guys were standing ahead of us as well.
This is definitely quite a place to see in person, I don't think I'd ever come here on my own accord though. I never once thought much about mana ports before joining up with Karma.exe.
I still think this whole plan was quite dumb since we are now dealing with these pricks.
A better plan would've accounted for the potential threat of another group or being betrayed by one. There's always that possibility when working with others in Kairox.
It is quite hard to find people worth trusting in this damn city.
"I'll take the two out on the left, you take the two on the right." Rezex instructed quietly.
I nodded my head while raising up my deagle. There's no silencer on this, maybe it would be better to try something up close.
"No guns here." Rezex spoke once again before handing a knife over to me.
After taking the knife I snuck up behind the guys on the right, it probably won't be enough if I don't do something extra here. The feeling of mana was still pulsing within my arm so that's the key to this.
I tried to focus on the transfer of mana into the blade and it actually worked in a matter of seconds. Hyup!!
I drove the knife into the back of the first ones skull as ice bursted out from the front of his face. BURST!!! SHATTER!!!
It caught the second guy off guard, giving me the opportunity to quickly pull the knife out to stab him as well. As he goes to fire his weapon I drive the knife into his chest and a similar burst goes out through his back.
Thud! Thud! Clatter!!! Both bodies fell to the floor, along with their weapons. Directly ahead of me I could see Rezex's mask glowing brightly as he swiftly kills both the men in one go.
A burst of purple light comes out from his blade and slashes both of their heads off in an instant.
I didn't know mana was capable of doing that much damage but I guess the infusion of it in tech can make a difference. There's still a lot unknown to us about this mana.
It could definitely be quite devastating when used correctly against enemies. The government has every right to want to keep these places protected but I guess this one will be ours.
"These guys aren't Lotus/9." Rezex spoke up while standing over their bodies.
The blood piled around the bodies as I took a moment to look down at the logo on their coats. They definitely weren't lotus/9, he wasn't lying.
"Do you recognize the logo at all?" I questioned with a serious tone.
"Not a damn clue. I just know they won't hesitate to kill us." Rezex responded while wiping his blade.
Killing has only gotten easier and easier over the years since I first did it. These guys... I don't feel anything with killing them. Even with the first shots I took at them.
I felt a bad at first when I killed the government soldiers guarding the place but there's no reason for all that.
They wouldn't hesitate to kill me and mark it off as some bullshit excuse. Junkie, no life, or the easiest which is true, gang member. It must be nice and easy to work for the government.
Yeah, I lost the ability to feel bad about killing a long time ago.
"We aren't that far from the others, let's go." Rezex said before starting to run.
Seems we are running for the others with no regard for stealth, guess it is what it is. I ran behind him throughout the strange hallways until we finally reached a big open room.
Inside of the room I could see Pinky, two of the other guys, and Reika. One big ass guy stood between us and them though.
Metal out the ass, this guy was straight metal besides his head. Wearing heavy cybernetic armor, holding a sword, and even some sort of weird mask seemed to be on him. It wasn't easy to see the design since he was facing them.
"I wondered why everyone got so quiet. Seems I have found the reason." He said with an absurdly deep voice.
Turning around I could see the strange silver frog mask on his face.
Someone behind their designs for the gang needs to reconsider their position... That is actually so damn stupid and funny.
"Seriously, that's what you decide to wear with all that metal?" I asked with a grin.
I couldn't help but feel the urge to laugh at this clown.
