The thought of our backup not being here or at least close by is definitely quite suspicious.
That was the case until I finally noticed cars pulling up to the depot. Looking through the scope I could see a bunch of heavily armed men.
All of them appeared to have various metal so this has to be the support we were waiting for. But looking a bit closer I could see them preparing their weapons.
"Reika, have you heard anything from Lotus/9?" I asked over the comm.
"Radio silent. Why?" Reika answered with a bit of confusion.
"Heavily armed guys with various metal just showed up to the depot." I said with a serious tone.
KA-BOOM!!!! Immediately an explosion went off down by the front door. One loud enough for people around here to hear it.
The comm also went radio silent after that, so these guys are definitely not on our side.
I don't know if Reika is going to be happy if I start taking out these guys but I don't think they are friendly. Who the hell blows up the main entrance to the depot?
Especially when we are trying not to attract any attention from the government... These guys are trying to f*ck everything up for us.

I immediately placed my finger back over the trigger and started firing up on the guys down at the entrance. Listening to the sound of the barrel sizzling after each shot.
We didn't tell them my location originally either so they won't know where the shots are coming from right away.
Two of them hit the ground down there so far, but that's about it.
"What's going on out there?" Reika asked over the comm with concern.
"Those guys blew open the door, I don't think they are on our side." I responded while continuing to take shots.
"Yeah, we felt the explosion down here. Sounds like you are trying to handle it too." Reika noticed as she got quieter on the comm.
"I'll do my best to take care of the problem." I replied before turning the comm off.
Best to keep it off until this is done so that they can't trace it, different metal is capable of doing such a thing. If these guys really are that skilled... Then it would definitely be a problem.
Lotus/9 is a lot more skilled than other gangs out there and honestly I don't think they can be considered a gang. They are more like trained killers, ones that I'm currently engaging with.
I do have a few tricks up my sleeve though.
My arm started to glow as I began to infuse the rounds with some of the mana. The effects have usually been random but maybe I can focus on something more deadly.
A blast that could knock them back a bit and maybe even kill a few of them.
KRRRRZ- BANG!!! The next shot I fired went towards a majority of them and exploded into a bunch of ice.
Ice that seemed to pierce through them with no problem, it was like a bunch of needles.
I fired a shot like that when I was taking care of the vantablade so this wasn't the first time I saw this. Well, it is very similar at the very least.
Ice seems to be quite strong but I'd like to figure out what else can be used against my enemies.
That just reminds me of this metal in my chest... What is this thing even capable of doing or what is it for? I didn't really get a chance to ask them about it since I just got to work.
They've also focused more on the arm then the metal in my chest.
But I guess it might just work as something to help with keeping me functioning. The sniper that shot me that day took off my arm and blew a hole in my chest.
Ba-thump. Ba-thump. Suddenly I could hear my own heartbeat, almost as if it got amplified all of a sudden. That strange sensation started to go throughout my body as well.
It didn't make a lot of sense at first but I think I'm starting to understand the feeling. Mana is starting to flow throughout my body...
Some people naturally have mana inside their bodies when they are born but others have to find ways to get it flowing. Cybernetics are the perfect way to do that, allowing for it to flow throughout your body over time.
There is always the problem of it not being compatible somehow.
Seems like I have been pretty lucky with it so far but I don't know if the metal in my chest can also enhance this strength. It would be nice if it could.
But then if it is helping with keeping me alive and functional... That could be quite dangerous.
My attention quickly shifted back to the problem at hand. A lot of them were still alive and they might even have an idea of where I'm at.
One of the guys seemed to be looking right at me... Am I mistaken?
A giant arm cannon seemed to be coming out from his right arm. "What the hell..." I said quietly while reloading.
Before I could reload the LZR-01 a giant blast from that cannon hit the side of the building. CRACK!!! CRUMBLE!!! This building was already old and falling apart the way it is, but that just made it worse.
BOOOM!!! Another explosion went off as the tower got hit again, everything was starting to rumble all around me.
It was time for me to go so I picked up what I could and began to run down what remained of the stairs. Trying not to fall on my way down, just listening to each explosion that hit the damn place.
I guess it makes sense that these assholes would have firepower like that, but why?!?! Who in their right mind would put a whole ass cannon in their arm!?!
