I finally felt the car come to a complete stop, letting me know that I could come back to reality. It was nice to be back at the headquarters again after a mission of straight killing.
"We're back. You seemed like you were thinking pretty intensely back there, but you went pretty quiet." Reika said while staring right at me.
"Nothing important. Just a bit tired, that's all." I replied with a calm tone.
"Alright, let's head inside." Reika suggested as she got out of the car.
I just followed behind her as we went back inside, watching for anyone that could've followed. Pinky taught me to keep up my guard like that.
Luckily nobody seemed to be following us so it was easy to head inside without the worry of people tailing us.
"There will definitely be more jobs for you, but we need to focus on the next phase. You'll be able to test out that arm plenty with it too." Reika said quietly.
The next phase of the mana port raid, the very thing that they've been planning this whole time. It has taken them quite some time to figure everything out and we even got some stuff from other people.
Those shitty corporate guys and the rotorheads.
"What is the next phase?" I asked softly.
"I'll happily tell you more about it when we get back to your room." Reika answered.
"My room??" I questioned with a bit of confusion.
"Yes, your room." Reika responded without hesitation.
I didn't really expect to be talk with her in my room about the next phase but I don't really have anything to hide in there. They supplied the room so I don't know why it threw me off.
Maybe it is because of her randomly deciding to talk in there. Especially about this whole next phase thing, I would've expected it to be a whole meeting for everyone.
I could've missed something during the job I guess.
Regardless I followed her back to my room so I could hear more about this next phase. No one seemed to be paying attention to what was going on so I guess there was no reason to worry about anything.
I don't want people thinking that there is some weird thing going on with Reika.
"Pinky also said you were a good pick, that surprised me." Reika said with a surprised tone.
"A good pick for what?" I asked before entering my room.
"For this whole raid. I think with your current skills it would be a smart choice as well." Reika answered while entering the room.
Pinky saying I'm a good pick is definitely surprising since I haven't worked a lot of jobs with him yet. I'll take it if it means I can climb the ranks faster.
Climbing the ranks and getting stronger is going to be easier if this keeps up. I don't want to be considered fresh meat forever.
She closed the door after entering the room, that meant it was time to listen to her about this next phase. The raid itself was definitely going to be an interesting thing to try and pull off.
"I'll tell you about everything we have planned for this." Reika said before she starts to explain.
(Reika begins to talk about the phase.)
This next phase is the actual raid itself, the one everyone else has been waiting for. We've been focusing on getting the right people prepared to attack the mana port.
Pinky will be leading, Rezex will be providing cover up close for him, two others will be with them for backup, and you will be providing sniper support.
There will definitely be quite a bit of attention on us when the alarms go off, so we definitely have to rely on you. I will be hacking into the system to buy them time.
"Who would be showing up? The government? And don't we have that other gangs support?" I questioned with a serious tone.
"Mana ports are usually guarded by them, so the chanee of more showing up is going to be high. That is how it goes. We do have support but, not if the government sends overwhelming amounts of forces." Reika answered with a serious tone.
Anyway, the government has more than one mana port to focus on. This one is a good pick because it doesn't have the same kind of heavy security as the others.
It has been dying down more each day so it isn't as big of a threat.
Overall this next phase should be easy for everyone to follow. I'm fairly confident in your abilities and the others.
(She finished explaining.)
I don't really know how strong the government forces will be, but if they all come armed with netwire guns... It'll be a problem.
It is kind of impossible to avoid any deaths if that occurs.
So it'll rely on stealth from the others for this to go smoothly, something that I don't know much about. Well, I can be stealth but I don't know about how stealth this team can be.
"How likely are they to send a bunch of forces to backup the guys there?" I asked with a serious tone.
"Mana ports are important period, so it is probably pretty high that they would send reinforcements." Reika responded while taking a seat on the bed.
So, stealth is literally the best way for this to be successful. I don't know how long we'll be able to hold back government troops if this goes south.
This seems a lot more like a game of chance then it did before. I trust Reika and the group she's giving for this but I feel like this is a shitty idea.
I haven't liked the idea of raiding the mana port to begin with, just I'm not in charge of anything here.
It's fine though. She's thought it through so I'm sure it'll work out for us somehow.
"Stop overthinking it. It'll work." Reika assured me while looking right at me.
