Jay's POV
When I got home and stepped inside,Kuya came over and grabbed my ear.
"Aaah, Kuya! It's hurting!" I cried, trying to pry his hand away.
He let go and glared at me. "Where were you for three days?" he demanded.
I rubbed my ear and was about to answer when Mumma interrupted. "What else could she do during the summer holidays? I sent
her to Ci's house to pass the time and refresh her mind."
Kuya looked at Mumma, then back at me. "Are you telling the truth?" he asked suspiciously.
"Yes, it's true," I replied quickly and rushed upstairs to my room.
Once inside, I took a shower—I felt so exhausted.After that, I sat on my bed, grabbed my phone, and opened the group chat.
Ci: Hey Keifer, how's Keiren's health now?David: Is he okay now?
Yuri: Did he recover?
Keifer: He's a little better now.
Felix: What happened to him? Why was he so scared?
Keifer: Nothing serious. He just had a bad dream, and then he got a fever.
Rory: Get well soon. Tell him that for me.
Eman: We'll come to see him in the evening.
After reading the chat messages, I called Keifer.
"Is he okay now?" I asked."He's feeling much better now," he replied.
"Did he eat anything yet?" I asked
"Yeah, he just had a bowl of soup," he said.
"Did you eat anything?" I asked.
"No, not yet," he answered.
"Why?" I asked.
"I don't feel like eating. If you came and fed me with your hand, then I'd eat," he said. I could tell he was smiling.
"I'll come in the evening, not now. And remember to eat your food," I replied.
"I'll bring cookies for Keiren when I come to your house this evening. Do you need anything? If you do, I'll get it when I return," I added.
"No, I don't need anything. Just come in the evening," he said.
"Okay, fine. I'm going to have lunch now," I said.
"Haven't you eaten anything yet?" he asked.
"No. After coming home and taking a bath, I went straight to bed and picked up my phone," I explained.
"Okay, bye. I'm going now. Love you, Mr Watson," I said.
"Okay, bye. Love you too, Mrs Watson," he replied and ended the call.
After that, I went straight downstairs and sat at the dining table. Kuya was in front of me, eating his food.
As soon as I sat down, he saw me.
He looked at me and asked, "What were you doing? Why did you come so late to eat?"
"Nothing," I replied nervously. "I was just chatting in the group about finding a college."
He nodded slightly and continued eating in silence.
After finishing my lunch, I went back to my room and took a short nap.
When I came downstairs, Tita was sitting in the hall. I went to her, hugged her, and said,"I'll be out for a while."
Then I took my bike and headed to a nearby shop.
When I got there, I bought cookies and a few more snacks, paid for them, and left.
By the time I reached Keifer's place, no one else had arrived yet.
I went inside, and as soon as Keifer saw me, he came over, hugged me tightly, and said,"I missed you."
"I missed you too," I said, returning the hug. When he let go, I handed him the snacks and asked,"Where's Keiren?"
"He's in his room playing video games," he replied.
I went to Keiren's room, and as soon as he saw me, he greeted me with a hug.
Then I showed him the cookies and said,"Take this — it's for you."
"Oh, thanks, sis—oops, I mean sister-in-law," he said with a teasing grin.
I shot him a glare, and he just chuckled, took the cookies, and went back to playing his game.
I went downstairs and saw that everyone had already arrived. As soon as Ci-n saw me, he ran up, hugged me tightly, and shouted,"Jay!"
We all sat on the couch and started talking.
Then when it was night, we had dinner and I left soon cause Kuya will scold me again if it is late.
