Keifer's POV
When we came back from the island, Jay came with me to my home to see Keiren.
As soon as we entered the house, Keigan came running toward me and hugged me tightly.
"Jay, you're here too! I just saw you," he said, then hugged Jay as well.
Then he added, "Kuya, Keiren has been acting weird since yesterday."
"What happened yesterday? Tell me everything from the start," I said.
"Yesterday, he was sleeping in the afternoon, and then he suddenly woke up crying and shouting, 'Don't do it! Please, don't!"
Honey and I heard his voice, so we rushed upstairs to Keiren's room. As soon as we reached him, Honey calmed him down and asked, "What happened? Why were you crying? Did you have a bad dream? Are you missing your kuya?"
"I saw that my father came and took me with him. I don't want to go with him. Please, call Kuya," he said to Honey, still crying. Keigan explained.
"Where is he now? Is he sleeping? Did he eat anything yet?" Jay asked Keigan.
"He hasn't eaten anything since last night," Keigan replied.
Jay got up, went to the kitchen, and asked a maid to make some soup. "Once the soup is ready, bring it to Keiren's room," she added.
Then she went upstairs to Keiren's room, and I followed her there.
She was gently applying cold compresses to his forehead, trying to bring down his fever.
A few minutes later, a maid came in with a bowl of soup. She handed it to Jay and quietly left.
Jay placed the bowl on the side table and softly woke Keiren up.
As soon as he opened his eyes, he hugged me tightly and began to cry.
"I don't want to go with Papa. Please don't send me. Please," he sobbed.
"Don't cry, no one's going to send you to him. I won't let anyone take you," I said, trying to comfort him.
After a while, when Keiren finally quieted down, Jay gently fed him the soup with her hand. He refused at first, but Jay insisted until he gave in and ate.
Once he finished, I gave him his medicine, massaged his head, and helped him fall asleep.
We all went downstairs, sat in the living room, and started talking about what had happened the previous day.
Then, out of nowhere, Honey noticed a faint mark on Jay's neck."What's this?" she asked curiously.
"It's just a mosquito bite," Jay replied quickly, trying to cover her neck with her hand. Then she glanced at me—glaring a little.
"Is he the mosquito?" Honey teased, pointing a finger at me and laughing.
"What?" we both said in unison, clearly annoyed.
"Do you have some foundation?" Jay asked, changing the topic.
"Yes, but why?" Honey asked, still grinning.
"To cover this up. If someone sees it, they might misunderstand," Jay muttered.
Honey chuckled again, then took Jay to the bathroom to help her hide the mark with foundation.
I knew exactly where that mark came from — it was because of me. The memory made me chuckle softly.
Jay's POV
What did this jerk do to my neck? I thought, frustrated. How do I erase this mark now?
"Is this a hickey mark?" Honey asked
teasingly while carefully dabbing foundation on my neck.
I couldn't reply. My face was already burning with embarrassment.
"Did he propose to you?" Honey asked again, more seriously this time.
"Yes," I answered quickly, still avoiding her gaze.
"He's been planning this for a long time," she said with a knowing smile.
I didn't know what to say, so I just muttered, "Hmm."
Once she finished covering the mark, we both went back to the hall together.
Then I told Keifer, "I'm going home now. Mumma and Tita are waiting for me. Keep an eye on Keiren and keep me updated about his condition," I said, and was about to leave when he suddenly spoke up.
"I'll drop you home."
"No, it's fine. Right now, Keiren needs you more, so you should stay and look after him. I can go home alone — I'm not a child," I replied.
"Okay," he said softly. "But let me know once you reach home."
After saying goodbye, I left.
