If the doctors checked me and I came out fine, that would actually be a relief for me too.
"But that's not fine by me! And you, Liya—since when did you become like this? Teaming up with beggars now?" Viktor suddenly said, his voice sharp and cold.
His eyes were fixed on Liya as he stepped forward, standing right in front of her and Arin. The entire cafeteria fell silent. No one dared to speak; everyone was watching Viktor.
"Viktor, what are you saying? I'm doing this for everyone!" Liya shot back. "If that guy turns into an infected person, he'll start biting people! We should throw him out now while we still have the chance!"
Her tone was filled with hatred—so much that it stunned me. But I'd never even met Liya before. We had only seen each other for the first time today. So why did she hate me so much?
"So you're saying you want to throw out my hamster?" Viktor muttered.
