The question still lingered, its effects still lurking on both their faces.
The woman, her expression held back a smile while hinting at untainted curiosity.
As Ash held an unreactive hesitation, staring dead straight at her figure.
"Yeah," Ash answered her, eyes turning to hers and holding unshaking contact.
She stopped speaking, and he didn't react. He just sat there, watching as his eyes went blank.
Even if she saw them staring directly at her, she could tell that they were far from being focused. It was as if they were looking past, completely devoid of any long-lost interest.

{LATER THAT DAY}
Inside a silent office, the sound of a pen writing on paper stood alone as the loudest noise.
RING!
The landline phone rang, cutting through the silence.
And the woman, the one who was seated on the office chair, leaning back in its comfort, slowly answered.
She waited, ears still listening to what the caller was saying.
Then she frowned, the caller's words clearly bothering her.
"Is that so?" she said, immediately moving the phone from her ear to the cradle of its base, causing it to cut the connection.
She sighed, shaking her head in disbelief, her white hair moving from side to side with the shake of her head.
She raised her arms, lifting them toward her chin, resting them on her open palms.
Then she clicked her tongue, its sound echoing through the silent walls.
Perhaps announcing that the mischievous person's stay had definitely been cut short.

THUD!
The door burst open as Enid stormed into a half-colored room that was filled with the consistent clicking of a black vintage typewriter.
She moved to her bed, seeming somewhat overwhelmed. She then threw her body backward into its embrace, completely ignorant of the muddy shoes she had mindlessly climbed on.
Her eyes stared at the ceiling, completely devoid of its effect.
The rainbows it bore, the colors it had; they were all proving to be ineffective. Not even its vast, colorful nature proved to have any effect.
So, she sighed, then sighed again. Until the typing that was clicking on the other side of the room suddenly turned inconsistent.
"It would be nice if you were to halt your consistent pestering," the girl responsible for the clicks said in protest, not even bothering to turn a glance.
Enid sighed again, this time throwing her arms upward, punching the air. She even raised her legs, kicking the air with her feet.
Then the typing stopped as the girl turned to stare at her. She said nothing; just stared, eyes shearing murderous intent.
"I'm sorry," Enid cried, sighing as she punched the air for one last time. "It's just… It's this boy."
And the girl turned her head away instantly, and although her expression didn't show it, Enid's words clearly annoyed her.
Her typing regained its consistency, standing alone as the only sound, until…
"He keeps forgetting my name," Enid said loudly, causing a small but visible smile to appear on the typing girl's lips. "Today he called me Edyth," she said. "Edyth! Can you believe that?!"
She shook her head as her hair was getting ruined by the bedsheets it was lying on. She paused, perhaps realizing a mistake.
"I get that he's new, but… It's just…" Her sentence halted, not showing hints of being complete. But unnoticed by her, the typing girl's clicking had completely stopped, and her ears were now paying close attention. "I should just… maybe give up and, you know… just focus on Ajax." A smirk crept onto her lips. "We actually went on an ice cream date today… Well, it wasn't a date, but…"
"Enid," the typing girl said, her eyes and body completely turning toward her. "Do I look like someone who cares about your love life?" she said, standing up.
Walking to the middle and standing behind the long line of a divider she had made three days ago, which separated the colors of their rooms.
"Now…" her eyes narrowed slightly, expression still lurking, "tell me about this… new one."
