Snoring broke the silence of a room filled with sleeping teens on the verge of dreaming and awakening consciousness.
Ash opened his eyes, their orbs visibly triggered by the seeping morning light that slipped through the large window.
He stood, fixing his eyes on the sleeping bodies that lay near him, then straightened his figure, taking and throwing aside a hand that was swung around his knee by a boy who was sleeping on the sofa beside him.
He stood up from it, making his way directly to his bed, which was housing the sleeping figures of two lads.
He sighed, moving his hand and pulling away his pillow, which a boy named Erick was drooling on. Erick's head drooped to the sheets, but sleep was so overwhelming that he didn't even notice.
Ash tossed the pillow to the side, right next to the bathroom in proportion to the washing machine, then immediately made his way to Xavier's bed or, in this case, the floor beside it.
"Ajax," Ash whispered, slapping Ajax, who was lying on a bunch of scattered sheets.
Ajax struggled to open his eyes, hands rising and wiping his face as he stood.
His eyes finally opened; his vision slowly cleared.
"You got the stuff?" Ash didn't even wait for Ajax to straighten his figure; he only lifted him, a small smile passing his lips.
Ajax fixed his eyes, staring everywhere, noticing how everyone was asleep.
He opened the zipper of his jacket, moving his hands to his pockets and grabbing a white, see-through bag filled with five-fingered leaves.
Ash smiled when he handed it toward him, but before he could grab it, Ajax pulled it back, eyes locked directly with his.
"Keep your promise," Ajax said, his face stern and serious.
Ash grabbed the plastic bag from him, his expression smiling.
"Bro," he tugged it into his pants, right inside his boxers, "trust me."
Ajax just sighed, shaking his head, grabbing the sheets that were below him, and then covering his torso and legs.
"Yeah, yeah…" he tugged at his feet, closing his eyes for sleep. "Just make sure you pay me my twelve dollars."
Ash smiled, walked to his bed, and grabbed a toiletry bag from his suitcase. He made his way to the bathroom.
Opening the shower as its cold-warm steam caused it to shut.
Causing sleeping eyes to be restricted from seeing his immortal figure, body blessed by the seed of curse; caused by powers oh so ancient; powers only known by two undead; two who shared cursed blood unfading, cursed blood immortal; eternal.

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
The door swung open.
"Weems," a woman spoke, blond hair swinging sideways because of the wind blowing through the open window. "I didn't expect to see you here… come in."
Weems nodded, walking inside, ears almost agitated by the sound of the hot steaming kettle.
"Please, sit," the woman's words continued, walking to the kettle and stopping its heat as Weems sat on the sofa. "Want some tea?" she asked, and Weems nodded.
She took two cups, then poured tea into both of them.
She moved, handing one cup to Weems, who received it with zero complaint. She then sat on a sofa on the opposite side, noting how Weems placed the cup on the coffee table.
"So…" Weems suddenly spoke, leaning backward on the sofa, "how is it going?"
The woman choked on the tea she was sipping, turning to Weems, who was staring dead straight toward her.
"Ms. Addams is doing..."
"I'm not talking about her," Weems interrupted, causing a sigh to escape the woman's lips.
There was silence for a while, only interrupted by the chirping birds singing their morning songs in the outside trees.
"I can't do it anymore," the woman said, cutting the silence like a knife.
A sigh escaped Weems' lips, eyes closing lightly and tongue softly clicking.
"Do you know the extent I had to go to break him? I… I went too far… so I can't do it anymore… not after this." Weems slightly bent over, taking the cup of tea she had placed on the coffee table and taking a sip. "I broke an oath yesterday," the woman continued, perhaps in some effort to reassure herself. "I pushed too far…"
"Four years," Weems interrupted, causing the woman's head to slightly bend down as Weems' eyes remained stationed on her. "Four years, and no one bothered to turn an eye in your direction."
She placed the tea she had sipped back on the coffee table, lifting her leg, then crossing it with the other.
"You asked for a favor, and I gave you a contract with Nevermore while asking zero questions," Weems continued, taking the handbag she had placed beside her and setting it on her thighs. "And now I only ask for one thing, one simple thing, but you turn your head just like they turned theirs with you."
Weems stood up, making her way to the door as her heels tapped the floor as though measuring the passage of ticking time.
She did not pause or hesitate as the door swung open.
She just uttered two words, words escaping her lips before her body could fully leave.
"Push harder," she said, unbothered by the woman's still-bent head.
Thud!
The door shut behind her, as if announcing her retreat.
Announcing the departure of what resembled dominance.
Or in some way, bully.

"Okay, see you guys tonight," Ajax said, making his way out the door.
"Wait… aren't you attending classes?" Xavier asked, fixing his blazer.
"Nope." Ajax grabbed the handle, half closing it. "My family is having a meeting, so I'll only come back at noon."
Xavier nodded as the door quietly shut.
He then turned his head to Ash, who was fixing the base of his tie.
"Ready to go?" he asked, getting a nod from Ash, who grabbed his bag while approaching him.
Inwardly wishing he had overslept.
