The first suspect was a man named David who is the biology doctor because of the some corruption. Now, he works as a construction foreman. Lives alone, works odd shifts, spends nights drinking. Files said he was spotted in neighborhoods close to abduction zones and he is very knowledgeable in his fields.
I found him easily—already at a bar, drinkin three beers deep. I watched from the corner for over an hour. He never moved. Never slipped out. His shoulders sagged with exhaustion, not malice.
I scratched his name off the list, but it didn't calm me. Because Kara wasn't home. And every wasted second felt like I was failing her.
The second man was George Dowery and he was one of the lead of the genetic engineering experience. He has been banned for doing the illegal use of human experiments. Now, he is owner of a small pharmacy in the older part of the city and the biggest suspect for the missing cases.
I entered quietly, a small bell chiming overhead. The shelves smelled faintly of antiseptic and dust. The man behind the counter wore a pristine white coat, his glasses catching the fluorescent light.
I walked up slowly, pulling a photo from my jacket. Kara's photo. Her school smile, warm and gentle.
"Excuse me," I said, forcing my voice calm. "Have you seen this girl? She went missing last night."
For a moment, his eyes flickered. Just for a moment.
Then he smiled. Too quickly. "No. I haven't. Tragic, though. So many young people missing these days. Terrible world we live in."
He turned back to his register, adjusting bottles on the shelf. And I saw the faintest stain at the cuff of his sleeve. Rust-red. Not rust. Blood.
I slipped the photo back into my pocket. "Thank you," I said, my voice cold. And then I stepped outside, leaning against the wall, breathing hard.
Night swallowed the street, but I couldn't risk waiting. Kara was out there. Maybe in this man's grasp.
I pulled the Invisible Memory from my belt. It glowed faintly, pulsing with restrained power. I then press the button on the Memory and inserted into the empty slot. He then transformed into the Kamen Rider W Invisible form.
-Invisible!
"Henshin."
The world shimmered, my body dissolving into half-existence. The air rippled as I vanished, phasing out of sight.
No footsteps. No sound. Just a breath in the darkness.
I slipped back into the pharmacy.
The man was at the back, fumbling with a hidden latch under the counter. He opened it, revealing a stairwell descending into red-lit depths.
He glanced around, nervous. He didn't see me and walked down into the basement. Ryotaro also walked towards him from behind. The stench hit first. Metal, blood, chemicals. Then the sound. Chains clinking. Moans. A low, guttural roar from somewhere deep inside. The walls glowed faintly crimson, veins of energy pulsing. And at the center, strapped to a steel table, Kara's body shuddered and another man who is doing the experiments with Kara.
Her skin was pale, sweat dripping down her brow. Her arms trembled weakly against the restraints. Her eyes fluttered, half-open, filled with pain. Suddenly, the one who is doing the experiments stopped what he is doing and said to the one coming.
"George, Didn't I tell you about 'I hate troublesome guests.' So, who is the one coming with you."
"What!!" George yelled out behind him and take cover behind the man.
"So, you can scense my presence even I am invisible. You must be some kind of meta-human." With that Ryotaro walked into the room.
"Oh.... you must be the so called Kamen Rider who The Ultra Dai-Shocker talking about. Nice to meet you. I am Harris..."
"Stop your introduction. I don't want to know some third-rate villain names and their backstory. Release Kara now or I will do it myself." Ryotaro said.
"Okay. I am going to beat you so hard for underestimating me." With that he press the button and the surrounding wall open. All kind of monsters come out and stare at Ryotaro with hungry expression.
The doctor raised a hand, voice ecstatic. "Witness! Humanity reborn through the Gene Memory!"
The moment the wall panels slid open, the air thickened. Dozens of eyes gleamed in the crimson light. Shapes writhed out of the shadows—abominations of flesh, claw, and fang. Men twisted into monsters. Women fused with scales and bone. Each one carried the stench of blood and chemicals, their bodies warped by the Gene Memory.
George cowered behind the lead scientist—Harris—while Kara, chained to the table, could only weakly raise her head. Her voice cracked, hoarse from pain.
"Ry…otaro…"
I clenched my fists. Invisible light rippled across my armor as the Driver howled its fury. Ryotaro grabbed the Invisible Memory, slotting it into the Maximum Slot. The Driver roared to life.
INVISIBLE!
MAXIMUM DRIVE!
Energy pulsed into my limbs, and the first monster lunged—a wolf-beast with glowing veins. I met its leap with a spectral punch. My fist cracked against its skull, the air exploding in shockwaves. The creature slammed into the wall, twitching.
Claws raked across my armor, sparks flying. A scaled tail lashed my chest, hurling me against a pillar. I phased halfway through, then re-solidified, slamming my shoulder into another attacker.
They were strong. Too strong.
Every move I made, three more replaced the one I struck down. Their powers were unnatural—acid spit, lightning crackles, bone spikes firing like bullets. And I was alone.
'If I can't thin them down. Kara and I won't survive. I need to help her out from the restraint.'
My eyes snapped to her table. Her skin glowed faintly under the crimson haze, her breath ragged. Chains rattled as she fought weakly.
"Kara!" I shouted. "Hang on!"
I dodged a fireball, slashed through the air with Invisible energy, then phased across the room. My hand struck her restraints, shattering the locks with a burst of spectral force.
The chains fell. Kara collapsed to her knees, coughing. But her eyes burned with stubborn fire.
"Not… done yet…" She clenched her fists, staggering upright. The weakness still weighed her down—The red sun like environment in the room, I realized—but she was regaining herself a bit. The monsters turned towards us and she glared back.
"I'm not… some lab rat!"
With a raw scream, Kara hurled herself into the fight, shoulder-checking a beast into the ceiling.
Relief surged through me. She wasn't at full power—but she was still Supergirl.
