Kara looks at the surrounding monsters and asks Ryotaro with heavy sigh.
"So, you are the Kamen Rider. That's why you are always busy."
"Yeah but we can chat later. We need to defeat them first."
"Let's finish this," Kara whispered.
The monsters roared as one, charging us.
We moved together.
Kara, still weakened, couldn't unleash her full strength, but even half her power was devastating. Her fists shattered concrete, her heat vision burned across the chamber, cutting through the monsters in arcs of red fire.
I fought beside her, slipping through strikes with phasing steps, countering with precision blows. My body ached, sweat soaking under the armor, but adrenaline drove me forward.
One monster with jagged wings swooped down. Kara blasted it from the sky, but another slammed into her from the side, claws tearing across her arm. She cried out.
"Kara!!"my voice sharp. My hand slid down to the belt at my waist, where the LostDrivershimmered faintly. But in this place, in this battle, W wasn't enough. I pulled it free and instead produced the crimson-lined device gleaming in the crimson light—the Faiz Gear.
The monsters hissed, pacing forward.
I tightened my grip on the Faiz Phone, flicking it open with a snap. The number pad glowed scarlet.
"Five... five.... five."
The tones rang out.
-STANDING BY!
"—Henshin!"
I snapped the phone shut and slammed it into the Faiz Driver.
-COMPLETE!
Photon Streams ignited, racing across my body in sharp crimson lines. Armor locked into place. In a flare of red light, I stood as Kamen Rider Faiz.
The first monster lunged—a hulking brute with arms like sledgehammers. I met its charge, Photon Streams sparking as my fist collided with its jaw. Bone shattered under the impact, the beast tumbling across the floor. Another screeched, a serpentine one with a barbed tongue lashing out. I caught it mid-air, spun, and drove a Faiz Edge slash through its chest.
But they kept coming.
Ten more surged, each with different abilities. Acid spit hissed against the floor, melting stone. Clawed wings beat the air, stirring dust into a storm. One leapt, mouth distending unnaturally wide, rows of teeth glistening.
I gritted my teeth. "Kara! Move!"
Her body trembled, but her eyes burned. She lashed out with a weakened punch, sending a monster crashing into a wall. She staggered, panting, but managed a shaky smile.
"I'm not… sitting this one out."
The sight of her struggling to stand lit a fire inside me.
We fought side by side—her blows sluggish but still strong enough to crack bone, my Photon Streams flashing through the swarm. Yet for every monster we dropped, two more closed in. My armor sparked, dented by strikes. Kara faltered, nearly falling before I caught her.
"Tch… too many," I hissed. My hand brushed against the small device strapped to my wrist. The Faiz Axel Watch. I had one chance to turn the tide.
I snapped it open and slot the chip into the phone.
-Ready!
The voice echoed like a countdown to destruction. My fingers moved without hesitation.
"—START UP!"
A surge of power ripped through me. Time fractured and I changed into Faiz Axel form.
The world slowed to a crawl. Every flicker of light stretched, every sound warped into a deep echo. The monsters' movements became sluggish, almost frozen. Dust hung suspended in the air like glittering fragments.
Within that slowed world, I moved.
In Axel Form, my body became light itself. Crimson Photon Streams burned brighter, wings of light trailing my every motion. I shot forward, a red comet weaving through shadows.
The first monster barely had time to blink before my kick shattered its chest. I pivoted, driving an elbow into another's skull. Sparks burst as I tore through them one by one—faster, faster, faster. My strikes blurred together, each impact detonating with concussive force.
Kara watched with wide eyes, frozen in the slowed perception, whispering, "Incredible…"
In less than thirty seconds of my time, but less than a heartbeat to the monsters, half their number lay broken and writhing. I didn't stop. I couldn't stop. My armor burned with energy, every move carving through the swarm.
One monster tried to ambush me from above, wings spread wide. I leapt, met it mid-air, and drove a Rider Kick straight through its chest. Energy rippled outward in a red shockwave. Another lunged from behind; I pivoted instantly, driving the Faiz Edge across its torso, the blade singing with photon light.
And then the timer ran out.
The slowed world snapped back into motion. The surviving monsters shrieked as they realized half their pack had been defeated in the blink of an eye. Kara seized the moment, eyes blazing despite her weakness. She leapt forward, grabbed a fallen chain, and swung it like a whip, knocking two beasts aside.
"Go, Ryotaro!" she shouted hoarsely.
I raised the Faiz Phone, snapping it open once more. The code burned into my mind.
"1-0-3… ENTER."
"CRISOM KICK."
Photon Streams pulsed violently. My right foot blazed with energy as I launched myself forward. My kick carved a blazing red trail across the chamber. The final cluster of monsters exploded in a brilliant detonation, light consuming their twisted forms.
The ground shook. Dust rained from the ceiling. Silence followed, broken only by the hiss of broken machinery.
I exhaled, chest heaving. Kara stumbled against the table, clutching her side but smiling faintly.
"We… we did it."
For a heartbeat, I almost believed her.
Then a slow clap echoed through the chamber.
"Well done," Harris said, stepping out from the shadows. His glasses reflected the crimson glow, his smile twisted. "You've exceeded my expectations. Too bad I didn't get that much time to experience with Kryptonian blood. But this will do to end you guys."
He produced a syringe, filled with a sickly green fluid that shimmered like liquid fire. He then tore open the shirt and strike the chest area with green kryptonite shard.
Harris drove the needle into his chest without hesitation.
His body convulsed, veins bursting with sickly green light. His skin bubbled, tore, reformed. A jagged gem burst from his sternum, glowing with pure Kryptonite energy. His frame expanded, muscles warping, claws tearing through his gloves. His scream was no longer human—it was a roar.
When the transformation ended, the man was gone. In his place stood a towering abomination of flesh, armor, and Kryptonite crystal burning like a heart of poison. But he didn't stop there. He then inserted the Gene Memory into the tattoo-like port called a Living Connector, which is a special part of the user's body. When the Gaia Memory is pressed onto the Living Connector, the memory's toxins and power enter the user's body, transforming them into a Dopant. The user's negative emotions react with the toxins, corrupting their mind and body. The monster then started to laugh with excited expression.
"Now, my body is perfect with no side effects from all the Meta-human genes."
The Perfect Gene Monster.
Its glowing eyes fixed on me, then Kara. It grinned with rows of inhuman teeth.
"Now…" Harris's voice echoed, warped and guttural. "Shall we begin the real experiment?"
The ground shook as the monster advanced.
And I knew the fight had only just begun.
