National City, Narumi Detective Agency
The man is looking at the files about people missing about the weeks ago. This morning one of the client pay to investigate their daughter missing last night who is going to her friends. Uncle Shotaro is comparing the case with other missing people cases in the city and Ryotaro walks into the office.
Seeing his uncle doing his job,he just silently sitting there without disturbing him. His uncle then stops what he is doing and gives him a files about the missing cases in these weeks.
"Tell me what do you think about this case."
Ryotaro then started to read the files and becomes very serious when the missing people are around a hundred in two weeks and it is not the end of it.
"It looks like they are just kidnapping random people and more homeless people for something else. The problem is we didn't know what and where, when and how. "
"I am thinking this is going to be the very serious case because of how many people missing and this must be some kind of experiments." Uncle Shotaro said seriously.
"Should I tell about that to Justice League? You know this is going to be a big problems for me." Ryotaro asked with concern.
"Yeah, after all they must have some kind of ideas about this."
With that Ryotaro went towards the empty alley inside the old photo booth and said the secret codes and disappear from that place.
Inside the Mount Justice, Ryotaro arrived and went towards the Monitor room. Batman is watching the screen and typing the keyboard without looking at Ryotaro and said.
"If you wanted to know about the missing people, we don't know about the full story. There are many missing cases around the world especially homeless shelters."
"How did you know what I am going to ask? Are you secretly placing the surveillance around me?" Ryotaro asked with surprised expression.
Batman just watches him silently with intensity and types the a few words in the keyboard. The screen then showed three people with their profile details and what their current movements.
"These are the three guys that I think is responsible for the missing people in your city. But we didn't know the who isthe one but you can investigate by yourself. Also you don't need to participate in the upcoming mission."
"Okay but do you know any thing about Kara Danvers?"
"I know and it's not the problem yet. Just do what you need to do."
"Okay."
With that Ryotaro walked towards the lounge area where the team members are. Robin is talking with Zatanna, Wally is playing the game with Captain Marvel and Superboy and Megan are silently sitting near the couch. When they saw him, they all greet him. Robin then came to him and asked.
"So, what are you doing these days? Are you coming with us to another mission?"
"No, I can't. There is something going on in my city."
"What it is? It is some kind of missions. Do you need my help. You know I can help you out." Wally asked with excited expression.
"No, it is okay. I can handle it myself."
~~~ Evening in National City ~~~
The neon glow of National City buzzed faintly under the autumn sky. Streetlights flickered like tired fireflies, some working, some sputtering. The streets were alive with weekend chatter—students heading to clubs, cars honking impatiently, couples laughing under shopfront lights.
Among the crowd was Kara Danvers, a tall blonde senior student, her backpack slung over one shoulder. Today she is going back home by herself because she has some plans with her new friends. Ryotaro had been busy with some works after all she didn't see him that much these days. But she and Ryotaro keep in touch with phones.
Her phone buzzed constantly with messages, her friends urging her to hurry.
"Seriously, Yelena…" Kara muttered, shaking her head as she walked. "Couldn't even tell me the plan ahead of time. Some friend you are."
Her tone was teasing, but beneath her mild annoyance, she was relaxed, even careless. For Kara, school life was always an odd mask—a normalcy draped over the reality that she was not just a senior, but Supergirl.
Still, tonight was supposed to be simple. Just friends. Just laughter. Nothing more. At least, that was the plan.
A sound. Too faint for normal ears, but sharp enough for hers. Kara froze mid-step. Someone was moving in the alley ahead—fast, predatory. She turned, eyes narrowing.
Before she could react, a blur of dark shadow bolted out, striking her in the head with blinding speed.
"What—?!"
Her balance faltered. The strength she relied on felt like it was draining out of her body, as if the shadow carried something unnatural. But she tried her best and strike back the shadow with full force. Her punch phase through the shadow and the blinding green light make her weak. Then the shadow like monster attack her with combo punches and knocked her out.
The shadow caught her limp form easily, lifting her into its arms. Without a word, it leapt, bounding rooftop to rooftop until both vanished into the city's darkness.
The room smelled of chemicals, metal, and fear. Cages lined the walls, each filled with people—men and women, some still conscious, others reduced to trembling wrecks. Operation tables stood in the center, chains wrapping around their victims like serpents.
At one table, a man twitched violently, his veins glowing with unnatural light. At the center of the lab, a strange USB-shaped item pulsed faintly, radiating a sickly glow.
The doctor overseeing the chamber adjusted his glasses, his expression eerily calm as he took notes. His white coat was stained, his gloves splattered, but his eyes were sharp with fascination.
When the shadow deposited Kara onto the table, the doctor tilted his head.
"So, this is the girl." His voice was low, smooth, yet brimming with dangerous curiosity. "The so-called Supergirl. Ultra Dai-Shocker wants results. Now, they'll have results. A Kryptonian subjected to Gene Memory splicing… ah, the possibilities!"
He glanced at Kara's unconscious form, brushing a strand of blonde hair from her face. "You will be my masterpiece."
Elsewhere, in a quiet apartment, Alex Danvers paced the living room, phone in hand. Kara's dinner plate sat untouched on the table.
"She's late. Way too late." Alex muttered, worry deepening into panic. She dialed Kara again. Voicemail. Again.
Her instincts screamed. This wasn't just Kara forgetting time. Something was wrong. And there was only one person she knew to call.
Ryotaro's phone buzzed, and the moment he heard Alex's frantic voice, his heart dropped.
"Kara didn't come home. She's not answering her phone either. Something's wrong. I need to investigate the three people from the files now. I don't have much time."
He didn't even wait for more. He grabbed his jacket, the LostDriver already strapped to his waist.
"Kara…" His voice cracked, panic tightening his chest. "Where are you?"
