The students had arrived back outside the dungeon. They had been teleported out by a young goblin by the name of Zanc who possessed a bloodline with rare spatial capabilities.
Zanc had deliberately left a spatial anchor just outside the dungeon. The young goblin had done this as soon as he felt like things were going wrong such as the increased mana density.Zanc always believed he was a coward but cowards did tend to survive. Most of the time anyway.
He kept looking towards the entrance to the dungeon as though afraid that those monsters would follow them out but it didn't seem like the new dungeon was strong enough for that yet.He looked back to Leah Astruge and couldn't help but feel bad.
If he had teleported all the students out earlier then perhaps Leah's brother would still be alive. He thought back to Joshua's savage face as he brutally ripped Elhial's head off.He couldn't help but shiver and wondered if the other humans were similar.
"I feel so humiliated." Drax the young lizardman clenched his fists and grinded his teeth.
"He...his gone...Elhial...what should...what should I do?" Leah had her face in her hands and was shedding tears profusely.
Drax grabbed her hands and made her look him in the eyes.
"I tell you what we're going to do.We're not going to spend the rest of our lives living in fear of what happened in there. We're going to go back in there...but not today. We need to get stronger before we can face those mobs again. We'll avenge Elhial and make those humans pay for his death."
His words appeared to resonate with the other students with the exception of Zanc who just wanted to get away from the dungeon and those creatures.Their gazes filled with resolve and unspoken vows as they looked to the dungeon entrance hoping to come back one day.
Leah's gaze turned to the dungeon entrance. After her tears had dried out her gaze turned dark and in the dephs of her despair she found new emotions.Hatred and a thirst for vengeance.
It had to be said that elves possessed emotions that were on the stronger side.As a young elf she didn't have much control over them but she didn't want control at that moment.
A few seconds later Gideon Fleece appeared. The students were relieved he was still alive.Gideon was a well liked instructor who usually looked over the tasks for the younger students given that they were inexperienced and prone to mistakes.
Gideon was panting heavily as he stood there. It was clear that he had a taxing battle with the human known simply as Arther. His gaze moved to Leah who continued to stare at the dungeon entrance.
Gideon knew that look as he had seen it before. Those were the eyes of a girl who had sworn herself to vengeance.Normally he would attempt to convince her to take a different path but he felt guilty.
The sheer reason Elhial died was because Arther had paralysed Gideon with that glare. He had underestimated the opponents characteristics so a student died due to his incompetence.Leah would probably be furious with Gideon for being unable to do something about it.
"I'm sorry for what happened to your brother but those humans were more powerful then expected. You must want to walk a path of vengeance.I don't blame you. However don't let it consume you and always refine and improve yourself so that you may have your revenge and live on afterwards."
Gideon attempted to give some advice. He knew the elves quite well. They found it incredibly hard to let things go.Leah looked up at him and nodded.Regardless of how she felt she still had to come home to her parents. They wouldn't want her to die as well. She would however have her vengeance on Joshua and all the other humans.
"What should we do now?" Leah asked as she felt empty. She didn't really know how to tell her parents about what happened.
"Now we should head back and make a new report on these humans and their so called skills and the level 1.You lot should focus on your studies and get stronger for the time being.Don't worry about this particular dungeon for now.You would only get yourselves killed entering it at your current levels."
The students nodded and they headed back towards the settlement. They were in a sombre mood which people appeared to notice so they kept their distance.
