Arther and his comrades were bewildered by the new stretch of territory they now possessed. They also gained some new neighbours who possessed some interesting homes.
These homes appeared to be made of wood instead of being caves. These fellow humans also appeared to be using some sort of tools in order to catch fish. This was good...they had gotten sick of eating deer meat.
There also appeared to be smaller humans, though Arther and the others instinctively knew them to be children. They immediately felt a sense of wanting to defend them and protect them from harm.
The children were playing some sort of game until they noticed the approach of Arther and his comrades. They pointed at them and went to get some adults.
Seraphina glanced at them as they left and placed a hand on her abdomen then looked to Arther. She had taken part in the celebrations of their first successful defense and noticed that Arther appeared distant. He didn't take part in the celebrations.
She had approached him and Arther had told her that he didn't want to get too close to his fellow humans in case they ran out of respawns and disappeared forever. He claimed he wanted to be spared the pain of losing friends again.John was the only friend he had left from the first generation.
Seraphina was stunned by this and asked him how many respawns Arther had left.Arther had replied that he could respawn infinitely which had stunned Seraphina even further.Compared to the rest of the level 1 humans who only possessed ten respawns Arther was well and truly immortal.Arther had also realised this which was why he was distant. He didn't want to create new powerful bonds only to lose them.
Seraphina liked Arther and wanted to get to know him better. This wasn't unusual the other humans had begun to look at each other differently. This wasn't just the men and women giving each other certain looks but also friendships had also blossomed.
Kye who possessed the rare grade healing hands skill was quite popular.Raegan was still annoyed at Joshua for hitting him when he was under the effect of the epic rank berserker rage skill. He did understand that Joshua wasn't in control of himself though so he didn't outright dislike or hate him for it.
Speaking of hate and love only a fourth of the humans were women. They didn't know the gender ratio of the new fishing village but it would probably turn into a problem in the future. The humans hadn't told Gaia about this pending issue and she hadn't done anything to prevent a possible future problem so perhaps she didn't deem it too important.
Arther and his companions then noticed that the children had brought back some adults. One of the adults had greying hair and wrinkled skin.He carried a walking stick and was hunched over.
"Greetings progenitor I am the village elder and we are known as Aiki fishing village. We would be honoured to know your name."
The elderly human spoke to Arther directly. His gaze was unwavering as he spoke and maintained eye contact.Arther's opinion of him subconsciously heightened.
"I am Arther, progenitor of the human race and warrior of Gaia."
"Aye we are all servants of Gaia and we shall have a feast to welcome you here. Now lets-"
"Father the village oracle is having another vision and an intense one at that. What should we do?"
A mature woman with brown hair and dark brown eyes appeared and gave a message to the village elder. She then looked towards Arther and his companions who in turn observed the village elders daughter.
"Ohhh I think we need to put that feast on hold for now.Come Arther and let us see what my granddaughter has predicted."
His words gained the interest of everyone there including Arther. They all wondered what level the village oracle was and what kind of skills she possessed.
They were all immediately escorted to a large building but before they entered the old man had something to say.
"Just a word of advice if you do anything to harm my granddaughter I will make sure everyone in the village hunts you down.We may not be able to kill you but we can certainly make sure to hurt you."
The village elder stared at them with a determined expression.Seeing that they understood his words he was satisfied and led them into the building.
Inside the large room was two people,a man and a young girl. The girl was asleep and appeared to be having a nightmare whilst spasming and crying blood. The man was attempting to comfort her but was failing miserably.
"You idiot son in law didn't I tell you to give her medicine this morning."
The village elder yelled as he ran into the room and held onto his granddaughter.
"I did but her bloodline appears to be growing and developing faster then expected. Her body and mind simply can't catch up.If her bloodline continues to develop like this the damage it will cause to her brain and mind will cause her to die before her 16th birthday."
"Don't you dare say that! All we have to do is wait four years till she gains the ability to level up then she'll be able to handle the burden better."
The village elder tried to maintain hope but it was visible in his eyes that he was slowly giving up.That was until Arther stepped forward.
