Gideon Fleece and the students were watching the entire fight unfold.What started as an evenly matched conflict had turned into a one sided massacre.Radway had been dominated and killed.
What surprised them even more was that Joshua didn't stop there as he kept punching and tearing at Radway's corpse even as it dissolved into the dungeon.
Joshua turned towards the students who knew they wouldn't stand a chance.Joshua charged with reckless intent towards Leah Astruge the young dark elf girl.Leah could only stand in place as she watched the savage monster heading towards her at break neck speed.
When did things go so wrong?Was she really going to die in this backward area?There was so much more to do.These were Leah's thoughts which had stopped as she saw what her brother Elhial was doing.
Elhial had stepped in front of her and spread his arms.Several things happened in the next few moments.
Gideon had attempted to rush in to help the endangered students but was stopped by Arther.Arther had teleported in front of him but his eyes were glowing red and Gideon was paralysed in place.It was clear that Arther was using another skill.What skill and what rank it possessed was unknown to him.
All Gideon could do was stand in place and look into those glowing red eyes which had paralysed him.Why hadn't the human moved though?With the paralysis active Arther should have been able to kill him easily but he wasn't moving for some reason.
Meanwhile Joshua had already arrived in front of Elhial as he was grinding his teeth in unspoken rage.Elhial felt only murderous intent staring him down as he shielded his sister with his body.Finally Joshua grabbed Elhial by the neck and ripped his head from his body.The blood spray from Elhials torn neck and head showered both Joshua's face and that of Leah's.
"El...Elhial...nooo." Leah had tears in her eyes as she was dragged away by Drax and Phox.
The other humans were about to go after them when Joshua began attacking them too.Raegan got elbowed in the side of the face as he ran by Joshua.He was knocked back as he felt a bruise forming on his cheek.
Raegan wanted to admonish Joshua but when he looked up he saw that Joshua was in agony.
"Seraphina get him under control." Raegan ordered the newest elite human to use her newly acquired epic rank skill paralysing gaze.The dungeon had used the last of her essence to summon her.
Seraphina an attractive blonde human woman got to work immediately as her eyes glowed red.She looked into Joshua's eyes and he found himself paralysed.Gaia had played her part stopping Joshua from going on a rampage against his fellow humans by causing him pain.Seraphina also had an important part to play by preventing him from moving.
The humans gathered around him intending to help him regain control and deactivate the skill.Raegan looked back to where the students had went and saw that they had disappeared.
"Aaaarrrggghhh"
A sound came from where Arther had been holding Gideon in place.Raegan looked back to see that Arther was holding a hand over his eye and that he had a furious expression on his face.Of Gideon there was no sign.
"That bastard...he launched venomous blood out of his eye."
Arther took his hand off of his eye to which Raegan flinched back.Arthers left eye was crying blood and was entirely blood shot.The iris looked like it's colour had drastically faded as though it had been dipped in bleach.
"How dare...how dare he...do this...to me.I want vengeance."
Arther was furious but he was also grateful.His friend with the invisibility skill,Droit,if he hadn't gained the uncommon rank skill venom resistance after being interrogated by that lizardman then his eye would have melted.
"Calm down Arther he is long gone.We've successfully defended our people and friends from the intruders.We have you to thank for keeping the strongest one preoccupied.Lets celebrate."
At his words Arther managed to calm down.His left eye still stung but he still managed to survive with all his friends.
"Besides...do you feel it...in the air?Gaia is a bit stronger now.All we have to do is keep killing intruders and we may be able to launch an expedition to the great beyond one day." Raegan spoke in a cheerful manner.
Arther thought about his words.He was right...Gaia had gotten stronger.Perhaps when they explored the great beyond they would be able to finish off all of the intruders and be done with it.
