The final moments of the cavalry battle were a chaotic storm of quirks and desperate gambles. When the dust settled and the buzzer blared, four teams remained standing, their headbands and their places in the final round had been secured.

"TIME'S UP!" Present Mic's voice boomed across the stadium. "LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT OUR TOP FOUR TEAMS! IN FIRST PLACE, TEAM USAGIYAMA! SECOND, TEAM BAKUGO! THIRD, TEAM SHINSO! AND IN A LAST-MINUTE UPSET, FOURTH PLACE GOES TO TEAM MIDORIYA!"

"Team Shinso was a surprise," Aizawa commented, his tone flat. "He leveraged his quirk perfectly to manipulate other teams. A smart, if unsettling, strategy."

"AND THERE YOU HAVE IT, FOLKS! THESE ARE THE FIFTEEN STUDENTS, PLUS OUR ONE V.I.P. PASSHOLDER, WHO WILL BE ADVANCING TO THE FINAL EVENT! LET'S GIVE THEM A HUGE ROUND OF APPLAUSE!"

The screen displayed the names of the finalists:

Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, Katsuki Bakugo, Tenya Iida, Fumikage Tokoyami, Eijiro Kirishima, Mina Ashido, Mezo Shoji, Ochaco Uraraka, Denki Kaminari, Hanta Sero, Hitoshi Shinso, Tetsutesu Tetsutesu, Ibara Shiozaki, and Rumi Usagiyama.

"Alright, listeners!" Mic announced. "We'll be taking a short break for lunch before we kick off the main event! See you all back here soon for some one-on-one action!"

As the crowd began to disperse, Rumi started heading towards the waiting rooms, an excited look on her face. Before she could reach the door Akaza had disappeared into, a figure stepped in her path. It was Shoto Todoroki.

"Usagiyama," he said, his voice polite but firm. "I need to speak with Akaza. Alone."

Rumi crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow. "Oh? And what makes you think I'm just gonna let you waltz in there? Got some secret plan to steal his ten-million-point headband?"

"It's important," Shoto stated simply, not rising to the bait.

She stared at him for a long moment, then sighed dramatically. "Fine. But if you make him miss lunch, I'm holding you personally responsible. And trust me, you don't want that." With a final, sus glance, she turned and hopped towards the cafeteria.

Inside the quiet waiting room, Akaza was leaning back on the bench, a small, high-tech earplug in his ear.

"Everything is proceeding as expected, Akaza," Nezu's cheerful voice chirped through the device. "Your performance was, shall we say, sufficiently dominant."

"It was a warm-up," Akaza replied honestly. "The real fights are next. How are things on your end?"

"Quiet, for now. But I had to call about the updated report on your quirk. 'Battle God'? That's quite a bold name."

Akaza smirked. "It felt appropriate. I think the experiments did more than just remove my limits. My shockwave generation, the analytical enhancement, the adaptation… it feels like they've all merged into one cohesive system. The wheel that appeared at the USJ seems to be the core of it, adapting my body and power in response to threats. My base is stronger, and my potential for growth feels… endless."

A sound that could only be described as gleeful giggling came from Nezu's end. "Excellent. Your progress is exceeding even my most optimistic projections. Which brings me to my proposal. I'd like to offer you a special internship during the summer break. Directly under my supervision, of course. It will involve… proactive hero work."

Akaza's eyes sharpened. He knew exactly what Nezu meant by 'proactive'. "I'm listening."

"Some threats can't be dealt with through the standard channels. Some trash needs to be taken out before it stinks up the whole city. There may be missions where lethal force isn't just an option, but a necessity."

Contrary to what some might expect, Akaza didn't hesitate. A cold, sharp grin spread across his face. "I'm ready to clean the streets, Nezu. Just point me in the right direction."

A sound of manic, high-pitched laughter echoed through the earpiece, and Akaza found himself chuckling along with it.

A soft knock at the door broke the moment. "I have to go. Someone's here."

"Very well. We'll speak more later. And Akaza? Do put on a good show."

Akaza removed the earplug just as Shoto Todoroki entered the room, closing the door quietly behind him.

"Todoroki. You alright?" Akaza asked, sitting up.

Shoto remained silent for a moment, his fists clenched at his sides. He took a deep breath. "What you said earlier… about family. What did you mean by it?"

Akaza answered him calmly. "I meant exactly what I said. You should cherish the family you have."

That seemed to be the final crack in Shoto's composure. "Cherish him?" he asked, his voice low and trembling with rage. "My father is the Number Two Hero, Endeavor. All he's ever cared about is surpassing All Might. He couldn't do it himself, so he decided to create a child who could. He forced my mother into a quirk marriage. He put her and my siblings through hell. The training he forced on me… it was torture. My mother… she couldn't even look at my left side. She said it reminded her of him, and then she… she poured boiling water on my face."

He traced the scar over his eye, the story spilling out of him like a torrent.

"He broke her. And for that, I will never forgive him. I will win this festival using only her ice, without ever touching his fire. I will reject everything he is."

When he finished, the room was heavy with a suffocating silence. Akaza listened to it all, his expression unreadable.

"So you'll cripple yourself," Akaza stated, not as a question, but as a fact. "You'll fight with half your strength just to spite him. By doing that, you're letting him control you just as much as he did when you were a child. You're defining your entire life in opposition to him. Doesn't that just make you the other side of the same coin?"

Shoto stared, speechless.

"That power isn't his. It's not your mother's, either. It's yours, Todoroki. You decide what to do with it. You can be the hero you want to be. Live for yourself." Akaza's gaze softened slightly. "I know it's hard. Forgetting what he did might be impossible. But sometimes… even a family like yours deserves a second chance."

He paused, a flicker of a dark memory crossing his mind. Not my family from my last life, he thought with a familiar, cold bitterness. Fuck them.

Meanwhile, in a less crowded section of the stands, Endeavor stood with his arms crossed, his fiery aura practically scorching the air around him. All Might, in his buff form, cautiously approached from behind.

"It's been a while, Endeavor. You're looking as intimidating as ever," All Might said, trying for a friendly tone.

"All Might," Endeavor grunted, his voice a low growl. He didn't turn. "Get out of my sight. Don't stand behind me. I might accidentally incinerate you."

All Might sighed internally but pressed on. "Your son, Shoto, is truly impressive. His control over his ice is remarkable, and his judgment is top-class. He's giving this festival his all."

"That is a matter of course," Endeavor replied, finally turning to face him, his turquoise eyes burning with an unsettling intensity. "He has a duty to surpass a fossil like you. That is why I created him."

The word 'created' hung in the air, cold and possessive. All Might's smile faltered. "Created? That's… a harsh way to talk about your own son, isn't it?"

Endeavor sneered, a plume of smoke escaping his lips. "He is my greatest masterpiece. Soon, the age of my creation will begin, and your time in the sun will finally be over. He will fulfill my ambition."

The sheer, naked obsession in Endeavor's voice was chilling. All Might looked from the father's burning ambition to the son's cold rebellion down on the field. He saw not a family, but a tool and its resentful master. And for the first time, he truly understood the crushing weight that Shoto carried on his shoulders, a weight far heavier than just being the son of the Number Two Hero.

Back in the stadium, the lunch break was over. The sixteen finalists gathered on the field.

"AND WE'RE BACK, FOLKS!" Present Mic roared. "FOR OUR FINAL, ULTIMATE, HEAD-TO-HEAD SHOWDOWN! A ONE-ON-ONE TOURNAMENT!"

Midnight cracked her whip. "The matchups will be decided by a random drawing! Let's see who our first fighters will be!"

The large screen behind her flickered to life, shuffling names before finally settling on the complete bracket.

Round 1 Matchups:

Akaza vs. Hanta Sero

Eijiro Kirishima vs. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu

Tenya Iida vs. Mezo Shoji

Mina Ashido vs. Shoto Todoroki

Rumi Usagiyama vs. Denki Kaminari

Fumikage Tokoyami vs. Ibara Shiozaki

Katsuki Bakugo vs. Ochaco Uraraka

Hitoshi Shinso vs. Izuku Midoriya

A buzz went through the crowd as they analyzed the potential path to victory. If the favorites won, the semifinals would be a clash of titans: Akaza versus Shoto, and Rumi versus Bakugo.

"Let the final event," Midnight declared with a grin, "BEGIN!"
