Chapter 17 - At Least Take Me Out to Dinner First!

The Ranks were interesting to say the least, most of the puesdonyms gave a little tid bit about their owners. Rank one the [Baron of Siberia] was someone who had gained rulership of the Siberia and was probably either ethic Russian or part of one of the many people groups that lived in Siberia. The Rank Two guy [The Alexandrian Librarian] was a bit of a mystery as their where a lot of of possibilities for location, he could be a librarian of an actual library in the city of Alexandria or he could be a Greek Librarian to so just a whole lot of leads.

The [Warrior of the Sands] was probably not a Lord and was most likely situated next to a large desert like the Sahara or Gobi. The Rank Four was called [Lost Amazonian] and could be referring to someone living in the Amazon or someone related to the Greek warrior woman. 5th place went to someone called [True Patriot] which whilst it could be someone from any country, I'm pretty sure it was a fellow American. [Kangaroo Jack] was probably an Auzzie doing what they do, fuck around with monsters they call 'beauties'. The person right in front of me [Shaolin Disciple] was probably a high ranking member of the Shaolin warrior monks so either in the Song Mountain Range or possibly India. The one right below gave all most zero details except that they to were a system recogized Lord. The Rank 10th was either an African Warlord or a guy with a funny hair cut that ruled a country starting with North and ending in Area.

...

[Warning]

...

I had thirty seconds, up in a rush I grabbed my knives, my Jacket, my watch, and my baseball bat. I heard shouts from all over the Manor as their was a scramble for gear.

As the timed Ticked down in the. Bottom of my vision, I sat on my bed wondering what the fuck did I do to Fate, I swear it acted like I kicked it's puppy.

Finally the timer ticked to zero, and I felt self move through areas of space where my body simply blocked my comprehension. Then I found my self in a room, the walls flat and smooth the walls a smoky gray, and I was sitting in chair, a rather uncomfortable chair. There seemed to be just a small amount of light in the room and yet there was no source I could see.

"Ah, a fellow Daemon don't see much of us in a young world tutorial, where you a cult leader or something?" A voice that was just bland the most average voice I have ever heard, and sitting across from me was a being like a gray outline of a human no really definable features besides his lack of them. Above his head floated a single title.

[Daemon of Introductions and New Beginnings]

A sense in the back of my head, a sort of intuition, that this being here was a far greater divine then I was. The feeling of a tiger hungry staring down its prey. Even with its lack of features I felt intimidated.

"Ah, Protection and The Depths, mortals always want protection from something or other so thats a good Domain and The Depths ha! You must me the first Divine of the Plain since Gluadraai the Spider Mother ate all of them!" His voice distorted for a a moment as he said the Gluadraai's name and I felt the feeling of something crawling on me. Even though his voice seemed like he was laughing his body didn't move.

"Oh, don't worry she's sleeping for at least another Millennia or two, and don't worry I can't eat you for your Divine power." He was it a He? I couldn't tell he seemed like a guy.

"Ah, don't worry anyways let me inform you of some stuff as is my duty" He pressed onwards.

I still somewhat in shock and not totally over the fact that he had made a comment about eating me.

"Okay, First off you are about to go to an area called the [Beckoning Abyss] it is made of ten levels the level you will be starting on is the [Queendom of the Antkin] of which they will be level 2-4 which should be easy enough for you to clear. The next level is called [High Chiefdom of the Gobs] it is filled with levels 4-6, the final level I am allowed to tell you is [The Three Tribes Alliance] which has Orcs ranging from [6-8]. After that you will appear in the City State of Juxia which is a neutral/ networking zone."

The information overload took a few seconds to catch on too, the levels wouldn't be a problem it would be the sheer numbers.

"Alright any questions?" The Daemon asked.

"What is the Tutorial exactly?" I asked wondering what I Could learn.

"Oh, well the Tutorial is something all Sapient creatures receive an option to go to once they unlock their first class, its basically a leveling ground and networking station" He explained away.

"Wait yes, what did you mean by the Gluadra character" I asked.

"Oh, yeah she was the premiere Goddess of The Depths, however the Demon Prince of Darkness and Corruption turned her into his attack dog, killed her whole court, really sad affair" He said.

"So, am I the only Divine that has power over The Depths" I asked the enigmatic figure.

"No, not really see that same Demon Prince essentially uses Gluadraai as a straw drinking up a heavy portion of the power, but besides her yep" He said fake cheerfully.

"Wait there's Demons?" I asked confused a lot of things seemed to carry over with statically made sense.

"Oh, so their records did travel over, ah well essentially the various Conceptual Plains interconnect and as mortals interact the unique blend of conceptual energies left behind are called Records, and Records are what allowed Humans to naturally evolve on your Homeworld." he explained as if it was simple knowledge.

"Anyways if that's all cousin, have a fun time and by the way my name is Dorthinoxin" he said and before I could get a word in edge wise he poofed himself out of existence.

...

One second I was in a gray room the next I was at the Mouth of a cave. Before me stood a 3ft long ant it's head reaching just above my knee cap.

"SCREE!" it chittered.

Bursting into momentum I smashed the things head easily, however I soon heard the sounds of skittering echoing over the walls.

Ah, fuck this this shit.

I smited an ant on my left as my bat broke through its carapace. Another one appeared and once again I smashed it and once again it appeared.

Soon enough I was knee deep in Ant guts, as they kept on coming and I kept on smashing each one to a bloody and quick grave, and I was getting pennies on the dollar for XP

...

[XP gained]

You have gained XP for Killing a Level 3 [Warrior Ant].

-99% For killing a lower leveled monster

-50% for killing a lesser Creature

+35% for One Hit One Kill

...

So yeah I was getting roughly half a percent of the XP I earned so that was amazing. Not. Eventually the flow stemmed after the first hundred or so. Even so the caves where really confusing which was odd considering I was a divine of the Depths so. It didn't matter anyways, I moved through out and every so often I would come across a squad of ants each one was a pretty easy battle.

Though something interesting happened an ant dressed in Ancient Greek Regalia.

[Lesser Myrmidon] Lvl:4

Again with calling things lesser what's wrong with this system!? However impressive looking their armor the Myrmidon felled all the same. I rushed up and speared him through on his side This time though I persevered its helm.

...

[Myrmidon Helm]

A mass produced helmet made for a Myrmidon Warrior.

...

Saying fuck it I put on the helm. I then moved on, just to find a lot more dead ends loop arounds, however my 'scouting' found a small mushroom. It had a small white top with a center of purple.

...

[The Wanderer's companion]

This Mushroom is an abysmal rarity natural treasure, possessing the ability to be moved from its home and carried during which it will enter a stasis state until is in better conditions.

...

Hmm, could be the perfect little companion and I always did find mushrooms interesting. Carefully I unearthed its roots being careful to not harm the small mushroom. I then stored it next it my pocket. I found a small menagerie of various plants which I carefully collected seeds and cuttings.

[Forgotten Glow Cap]

[Showering moss]

I endeavored on, finally I had found a small squad of ants again. This time I slowly walked behind them following them.

They turned and turned and turned and twisted until finally they came to area where I heard a great chittering of ants scraping and crawling.

A large metropolitan area of caves circling a large cavern with all sorts of different ants moving on, a flow of traffic and the like.

...

[Tutorial Quest]

You have found the Central nest of the [Queendom of the Antkin], you have to destroy at least 75% to move on to the next stage.

[123/100,000]

....

Oh boy that was a lot of ants and no magnifying glass. Stretching, I prepared and blasted off, my superior speed and reflects allowed me to navigate around the chaos caused by my arrival, it was a brutal affair really. My swinging bat became the instrument of my will as I batted through the weak ants.

I moved around the ant city moving as fast I could in the area moving and dodging attempts to hit me.

[Lesser Myrmidon]

They came pouring through, however it didn't matter I bashed through them as they lacked the power to catch me, it didn't matter how hard they tried they died all the same.

...

[1,427/100,000]

...

I swung on a structural pillar my Bat broke through it after five hits.

...

[6,931/ 100,000]

...

They died and I reaped them, as they became increasingly unable to respond.

...

[Divinity Gained]

+.1

...

The random message threw me off for a moment before I resumed my massacre. They didn't last a second.

That fight went on for 6 hours all in all I killed a tenth of them before becoming fatigued and had to pull back, my haul for my slaughter.

...

[Title Gained]

You have gained the common title [Ant Bane]

-[Ant Bane]

+5% damage against any Creature belonging to Ant racial tree.

...

[Achievement Earned]

Good Soldier

Commit Genocide on a whole species because the system said so!

+5 Achievement Points

...

[Level Up]

You have leveled up after Killing 10,000 Ants and ant subspecies.

5 stat points earned!

...

Ah, a sweet sweet Level up, and a snarky achievement.

I made my retreat my enhanced memory guiding me through the caves until I found my resting spot. When there I began to basic maintenance on my bat and Jacket. When I decided to bite the bullet and use the [Sanctify Item] trait I had gained.

...

[Alert!]

Using the Trait [Sanctify Item] on the [Louisville Slugger (Copy)] will cost [5] Divinity.

Accept: [Y/N]

...

I pressed yes, sucking in a breath as I saw my pool of Divinity shrink a little. A beam of warm light engulfed me and flowed to the hand that held my bat. The form of the Bat twisted and soon Enough I was holding a club still in a baseball shape but as I inspected the bat I found something new.

...

[Daemonic Club]

Half Step Rank Two Uncommon Divine Blundgeoning Weapon.

This bat originally a simple bat used to play a popular game on its homeworld has ascended. The signature weapon used by a minor Daemon to slay thousands of its enemies in a single swing it has had its Records seeped in the Daemon's divine power.

Effects: [Antkin Bane], [Divine Connection], and [Protective Link]

-[Antkin Bane]

This weapon does slightly more damage to creatures related and belonging to the Ant Racial Tree.

-[Divine Connection]

This weapon is the Divine instrument of the [Daemon of Protection and The Depths] and as such great feats done with this weapon will be translated back to its divine partner.

-[Protective Link]

This weapon will also posses the ability to take damage in place of its owner at a 1.5 times increase rate and will also repair it's self based on the unused regeneration of the owner. [Durability: 100]

...

Well that was a nice surprise and definitely worth the divine power used, although I had hope that I could get my investment back. Rolling up my Jacket as a pillow I laid down and passed out.
