Chapter 20 - Secondary & Trinary Class

I had four options for my new new secondary class. [Smithing Initiate] was obviously the base standard class for everyone, it was common and possessed the inherent skill of [Crude Item Creation] which was pretty self explanatory. The second option was [Improvised Creator] which was an Uncommon class that had the already mentioned [Crude Item Creation] however its second skill was [Tinkerer's Intuition] which made almost want to pick the class out of reflex.

My third option was [Wandering Smith] which was a Half Step Rank Two Uncommon Class, that had two skills and a Trait. The first skill it granted was obviously a better version of the other classes [Crude Item Creation] called, well it was called [Basic Item Creation]. The second skill was [Tinkerer's Intuition]. It seems like an evolved class of [Improvised Creator] however its trait [Wanderlust] was amazing trait, for someone else. It granted an XP boost in new places, however if you stayed in area it granted an XP debuff. As I was now a lord of sorts I had obligations to my people.

My final option was [Divine Smithing Initiate] my one and only Rare class on offer up. It had three skills and a trait. Whilst it didn't have [Basic Item Creation] it still had the less refined version. Its other two skills were [Touch-Mark] which essentially acted as a smith's brand logo, although my would actually let me gain Divinity from the items. The final skill, was costly and I could only really use it once an a while. [Divine Imbuement] which let me imbue my Divine power into items while I was crafting them. If I already didn't have have a drive to gain more this was another incentive. The trait [Conceptual Imbuement] on the other hand I didn't know how useful it would be I just didn't have Enough information on how concepts effected everything.

Although very clearly I had my class basically chosen for me. [Divine Smithing Initiate] already enhanced what I was doing and I can't imagine the value of Divine imbued weapons if they turned out like my [Daemonic Club]. Selecting the class, a new window appeared.

I felt knowledge descend upon me, and I knew how to do things I was only faintly aware of. It was trippy to feel knowledge literally beamed into your head. Looking at the ant carcasses I could see how to string the ants tendons through holes creating plate armor. Before I could do that I would need to smoke dry the tendons of the ant, and at the same time soak the shells I wanted to use in water for a few hours to soften the shell for the holes.

Setting out I found the [Lesser Myrmidon Commander] and began to ready it extract the intact parts of the carapace, then I moved on to the tendons. After I had extracted the materials I found the local water source, a small spring fed pond. Laying the ant carapace in the shallow beach of the pool, I moved onto my next task. Gathering some still green mosses as well as the dead ones in order to produce smoke.

Luckily this cavern had enough space that the smoke shouldn't be a huge problem. It took a while to get the fire started. Once it started though, I put a layer of the green moss on top of it creating the desired amount of smoke. I had Anastasia suspend the tendons above the smoke using webs. Now that the preparing was done I moved onto my remaining class stone.

...

Checking back on my material prep I new I still had some time until they were ready. In the mean time I moved on to my skill [Geomancy]. I activated the skill and as I concentrated on a nearby pebble and a twinge of an energy flowed from my mind. It acted like a hand holding clay if you focused hard enough just like squeezing your hand you could move the rock around. Moving it around it was like dough. I even began making a chair to sit on, it was a slow process but I began my making layers and layers until I had nice rock chair.

...

[Inborn Mana Pool Depleted]

...

The tendril of energy I had reached out with fizzled and snapped back to my brain. The best description I could give for the feeling was brain freeze. It wore off as soon as my Mana ticked up to one but it was still not a pleasant experience.

I continued playing around with [Geomancy] for a little bit until my skill told me that my materials where done.

Moving the tendons of the fire. I moved to the ant carapaces. I began to measure out the basic blueprints using a rock to leave markings on the position for the holes. I used [Geomancy] to form a thin needle and reinforced it. From there I made an initial hole at each of the markings, then I slowly expanded the hole just enough for the tendons to fit through. Next I used the sand of the pond bank and my [Geomancy] to ware away the sharp edges. Then I took some ant guts and mashed it into a sort of paste.

I created layers of chintin each with a little bit of the adhesive over each layer after I had done so to my liking I placed it over the fire slowly making it stronger. Then I moved on to the back plate and the shoulder guards. My process was meticulous and I used the making of the [Myrmidon Helm] for inspiration. Eventually, I had finished the individual pieces time for the assembly.

I used the tendons to and a small torch of sorts to melt and bind the various pieces together. Then I began making the surcoat, using spider silk a gift from the [Spider Matriarch] I used to cover the holes in the armor's Protection. Activating [Touch-Mark] the Armor was finished. It's design sleek enough to fit under my jacket.

...

[Item Crafted]

XP Earned, for creating an item related your Secondary class.

...

[Daemonic Chintin Armor]

Half-Step Rank Two Crude Armor

This item whilst rudimentary in its make is crafted with powerful materials. The Chintin comes from a powerful [Lesser Myrmidon Commander] same with the tendons and adhesive binding. The surcoat is crafted by a powerful [Spider Matriarch]. The Crafter is a burgeoning Daemon it has his divine power permeanting this armor.

Effects: [Superior Material], [Cave Walker], [Spider Friend], and [Touch-Marked]

-[Superior Material]

This item is tied to the Conceptual Plain of Protection, and draws heavily upon its influence. It will protect its wearer to a near supernatural degree.

-[Cave Walker]

The Wearer of this item will posses an uncanny ability to navigate and remain surefooted in caves.

-[Spider Friend]

The Wearer of this item is marked as a potential ally to all spider kind, although it won't stop retaliation for the wearers actions.

...

Shrugging off the jacket and taking off my helmet I dawned the form fitting Chintin Armor. Put my Jacket over it and replaced the helmet on my head. It was comfortable, a little heavy but not cumbersome. Anastasia climbed up my shoulder and sent out a command to the spiders we where marching to the last City of the Ants.

We came across a few squads of the various other factions, we eliminated majority of them a pair of fash [Cave Rabbits] escaped before the Spiders could entangle them.

"Oh, Boss can you tell me another story?" She asked, while we had been walking I told her a few childhood stories to keep occupied, mainly stuff like the Little red riding Hood and stuff.

"Okay, well there was a boy by the name of Jack..." I went on tell the story of Jack the Giant slayer.

"Wait, I don't understand is Jack the hero of the story or the Villain?" She asked me inquisitively.

"Jack is the Hero of course" I said not really thinking about it.

"You humans are weird, didn't Jack Break into the Giants house and steal from the Giant?" She said. Thinking about it yeah kinda, Jack was thief and was trying to steal from the Giant.

"Okay sure, In the version of the story yes Jack is probably a villain but I've heard a few versions were the Giants like to eat humans" I said thinking of a few I didn't remember them well enough to really tell a story about it but, eh what were you going to do? I thought.

"Well tell me one of those stories" she begged jumping up and down on my head.

"I don't remember them well enough Anastasia"

...

Eventually we reached the out skirts of the Ant City and this time the Cavern they where in was massive definitely their new capital. There was even a full on river flowing through the cavern. Surrounded by large walls and guard towers was a city. In the outskirts outside the walls was refugees from the other cities and surrounding the refugees was small low bearing wall.
