Prince Liang Chen stirred in his sleep, his hands trembling slightly by his side as his body leaned toward the source of warmth.
Ji Mingyuan did not pull back, not immediately. He watched the man closely, his eyes focused on his pouted lips as they twitched, then returned to normal.
"What are you dreaming of… another argument with me?" he sighed deeply. While other couples laughed and cuddled, they quarreled and slept in different quarters.
"This was certainly not the life I had hoped for the both of us," Ji Mingyuan added, his voice calm and soft.
Liang Chen stirred again, and Ji Mingyuan quickly got up, made sure he was well covered, and exited the room.
Just then, the man on the bed opened his eyes dizzily, and he stirred on the bed.
"Archen," Liang Chen called, and the guard stepped in within seconds.
"My prince," he answered.
"Did… was anyone here?" Liang Chen asked, his eyes still on the door. The faint scent of mint lingering in the air couldn't be mistaken.
