The ray of sunlight flickered through the curtains. On the bed, Liang Chen stirred, then his eyes flickered open. At first glance, everything appeared to be normal, but then he remembered. Ji Mingyaun had come to him with the dagger and Snowfall. He jolted up, but the bed was empty.
"I… don't remember coming to bed," he murmured.
Quickly, he yanked the duvet off his body, but as he turned toward the window, there stood the man he was searching for. Ji Mingyaun was up and looked better than the previous night, his back turned to the bed.
"Good morning," he murmured as he turned, facing Liang Chen.
For a moment, Liang Chen stood quiet. "About last night…"
Ji Mingyaun trailed his words, soft and calm. "I am sorry. I didn't mean to walk in on you so late," he added.
Liang Chen rolled his eyes. "You didn't mean it… But yet you did."
"Shuming," Liang Chen called as he turned toward the door.
