Chapter 24 - The book about the young survivor and the mysterious girl Carmen

Deep in the forest, Kazuma was still unconscious from the severity of Jin's blow.

Nitch was sitting in front of him.

Kazuma slowly opened his eyes and blinked, as if he had lost his memory.

Nitch laughed a suppressed laugh of joy.

Kazuma:

What happened? Can you tell me?

Nitch:

It's good that you're awake. I'm happy.

Kazuma sat up and crossed his legs.

Kazuma:

Did I lose?

Nitch: (in a gentle voice)

Yes, unfortunately, luck was not on your side.

Kazuma laughed despite the pain, and Nitch's eyes sparkled as he showed his pride in Kazuma. ...who was extremely happy despite the loss.

Then a girl with long, curly blonde hair fell down...

Her eyes were small with green pupils.

She was wearing a white dress with brown stripes...

She was carrying a square brown bag,

while Kazuma and Nitch were gently holding her hand.

Nitch: (wondering)

Who do you think this girl is? Is she one of us?

Kazuma:

Nitch, this is serious. Move away a little.

Kazuma pressed his fingers on the left side of the girl's neck.

Kazuma:

She didn't die because we were here.

The girl slowly opened her eyes to see Kazuma and Nitch in front of her.

Kazuma's lips smiled happily.

Nitch:

She opened her eyes.

The girl had narrow eyes and a rectangular face, innocent and soft.

with small, thin lips and a short nose...

Kazuma:

Are you okay?

The girl: (in an innocent voice)

A tragedy, a tragedy.

Kazuma and Nitch remain silent.

The girl:

How did I get here?

Nitch:

You were unconscious when we found you.

Girl: (sitting down and continuing her conversation)

I don't remember what happened to me.

Kazuma: (his small lips conveying kindness)

Then we will take care of you and be with you.

Girl:

As a gift, I want to show you something.

Kazuma:

Show us.

She takes a brown book with gold lettering engraved on the sides out of her bag... The title of the book is engraved in gold letters in the middle... The title of the book is... Beyond the Disaster.

Girl:

This book is about a young man who survived the war...

This book is about a young man who survived the war... and how he took care of his family.

Kazuma and Nitch's eyes sparkle like stars.

The girl:

By the way, my name is Carmen.

Nitch extends his hand to shake hers.

Kazuma:

Have you tried to remember where you came from?

Carmen's lips stretch into a smile...

Carmen: (in a booming voice)

I swear I don't remember.

Days pass, and Kazuma and Nitch sit on the bed... like brothers reading a story about how the hero took care of his family after the war, losing everything.

Every day, Kazuma and Nitch visit, hoping to learn about the outside world.

Seven days have passed since they met... ...Kazuma opened the safe to take the book, but the safe was empty, only dust dominated and spread its veins over the cabinet.

Kazuma's veins appeared on his forehead, until we heard a slight laugh.

Words:

You are so stupid to believe in the myths of the outside world.

Kazuma clenched his teeth and his head was about to explode.

Kazuma:

Jin, let go of that book.

We see Jin holding the book and turning its pages... with his eyes closed.

Jin:

Brother, I love you.

He turned his neck, and darkness covered his forehead...

Jin:

Don't get me wrong... because I only love you when you are conscious and intelligent.

Kazuma:

That book is a guide for the sheikh to let me go to the world.

Jane:

By the way, don't talk to the sheikh... I won't talk to you anymore.

Kazuma: (gritting his teeth)

Don't interfere. Mind your own business.

Jane: (philosophically)

I'll tell you something... Don't turn your back on people because their faces are just masks for what they hide.

Kazuma: (smiling)

Brother, give me the book without any trouble.

Jin threw the book as if he were throwing something rotten.

Kazuma caught it as if he were catching a baby.

Jin was putting on his shoes in front of the blue door with white stripes.

We hear a gentle voice.

From the look on your face, I can see that you are acting strangely.

Jin: (with empty eyes)

Mom, I'm fine. I'm just going through a phase of emptiness.

Kazuma and Jin's mother appears.

Her hair is wavy silver, her pupils are silver,

and her face is delicate and innocent.... The mother's name is Nakazuma.

Nakazuma: (Her lips carry a smile)

What is worrying you... We can talk, mother and son, and you can express your feelings.

Jane: (His face is sullen)

Feelings, oh feelings, you make me laugh.

On her mother's right wrist... there is a mark of very, very thin veins that are barely visible.

Mother:

As you wish, my son... but when I see you leaving the house, I feel that curses will do something negative to your heart.

Jin left the house and closed the door with a loud bang.

We hear a loud sound... full of enthusiasm, spirit, and hope.

I'm going, Mom.

Mother:

Where are you going, Kazuma?

Kazuma: (with the spirit of an adventurous child)

I'll tell you the details tonight when my father is asleep.

Narrator:

The chapter ends with Jane's sadness and Kazuma's adventuro

us spirit that gives hope.
