"But damn! I must say: that Ape was strong, and its defense was so high that it seemed invulnerable. Damn, I wonder what it'll take to slay such a Beast" complained Lei Shi.
"Don't think about it too much, the answer is simple. To slay a foreign beast, you need a foreign knife" replied Leng Shi matter-of-factly.
They continued their light banter till they reached land. They had reached Africa and had entered through the coast of Somalia.
After flying for some more time, they stopped and landed. It was time to share their spoils.
They changed the color of their HTB suits from White and Red to their previous Blue and Yellow colors, however, they didn't notice that there was someone spying on them from a distance.
"Hahaha we really made a killing this time" Lei Shi laughed uproariously and added "First on the list, Popoye's vegetable can".
He pulled out the vial from the coffee flask that he detached from the storage compartment of his HTB suit. Leng Shi also brought out the other vial.
Lei Shi stopped his laugh; both of them sober as they held the vials in their hands.
They looked at each other, then the vials in their hands and then back to themselves.
"Hey, whatcha thinking?" Lei Shi asked.
"Same thing you're thinking" replied Leng Shi with a smirk.
"Guy, you already know, if we take these vials back home, it's highly probable that Zhen Shi will take them and study them for years. He may never let them go, hence leading to us never getting the chance to use them. Secondly, if Wuwei Shi takes them, as the businessman that he is, he'll definitely auction them off, or worse, he'll sell the liquid, drop by drop, expanding his profits. Thirdly, if Dad sees them, he may not allow us to use it because he'll be worried about us dying from a backlash or incompatibility or worse, us turning into a pig due to our DNA structure being modified" Lei Shi spoke to Leng Shi like a drug dealer who was trying to sell crack to a kid.
"Hey, why the fuck are you talking to me like this? I'm not the responsible one here. Let's just take them directly. Fuck the consequences! If they ask about it when we get back home, just say it got destroyed in the cross fire. I ain't a snitch. And if we develop superhuman abilities, just say we got bitten by a radioactive spider, period." said Leng Shi bluntly.
"Wonderful! That's why I like you guy" exclaimed Leng Shi as he raised his hand, revealing his palm
Seeing this gesture, Lei Shi extended his hand with his palm facing upwards.
*Clap*
Leng Shi smacked Lei Shi's palm then shook it firmly. Afterwards, they sat on the floor, facing each other with the both of them each holding a vial.
They removed the vials' caps, revealing needles.
*Clink*
"Cheers" they both said as they bumped each other's vials before stabbing themselves with the needles and began injecting the fluids into their bodies.
About a minute after starting, the infusion was complete, and they pulled out the needles from their bodies.
Oddly enough, they didn't move or get up. They sat there with their eyes closed for a full two minutes. They were waiting for the contents of the vials to fully circulate throughout their bodies.
Suddenly, Leng Shi and Lei Shi's eyes broke open.
"Kaiyoken!!"
"Susano!!"
They both yelled towards the sky and jumped, expecting to fly. They even punched some of the trees that were around them, using brute force, not with any augmentation from their HTB suits, expecting to break them or shatter them since it was said that the DNA strands from Beasts gave humans Superhuman Power. In the end, all they got were bruised knuckles.
"What trashy vials, I can't believed we risked our lives for them" said Leng Shi, annoyed, before he added "No wonder the agency made bringing it back optional. You were right, only an asinine would take on this mission. Let's just hope Acme Company doesn't find out that we are the culprits or else that would be us making a terrifying enemy in return for 200,000 units. And that's a loss from any angle you look at it"
The twins crushed and incinerated the vial containers, leaving behind no trace of its existence.
"Well, good thing those weren't the only things we risked our lives for" said Leng Shi as smiles crept on their faces once more when thought of the remaining loot items.
"Wallaah!" exclaimed Leng Shi as he brought out a flash drive from the storage compartment of his HTB suit.
"Ryan, do you mind scanning it and checking its content" said Lei Shi to the AI monitor of his HTB suit.
"Not at all sir, it's my pleasure" Ryan replied, and then he scanned the flash drive.
Few moments later, he said "Done sir, this storage device contains information on all of Acme Research Company's projects, information that was bought by the company from other companies and so much more information on other things like drug formulas and chemical mixtures" he paused then added "This flash drive's contents are very valuable maybe even priceless"
"Whoa, so cool" chimed the twins.
"Now we're talking" said Leng Shi in an excited tone.
"First of all, Ryan, download its contents into our HTB suit's memory, that way we would be able to go through it later because Zhen Shi will never let go of it when he gets his hands on it" said Lei Shi. He then added "He may even faint from the ecstasy of getting such valuable information"
"Done sir, Is there anything else you need help with?" said Ryan after another few moments of silence.
"No, that'll do" replied Lei Shi. He then looked at Leng Shi and said "Convenient, isn't it?"
"Very" replied Leng Shi before he said "Now let's get to the main course".
"You don't have to tell me twice" replied Lei Shi. He then extended his hand to his back, to the storage compartment of his HTB suit, and brought out two HTB suit vessels.
As Lei Shi looked at them, Leng Shi directly took one from him.
Both of them drooled as they looked at the HTB suits in their hands.
Out of nowhere, Leng Shi's back, towards his right shoulder was blasted open revealing his flesh.
*Pow* only a second later did the sound of a gunshot reach their ears.
"What the fuck!" Lei Shi exclaimed as he took cover behind a tree. Leng Shi fell to the ground, rolled and also took cover behind a tree. After no second shot arrived, Lei Shi shouted "Hey, Bro. Are you dead?"
"How can I die when you're still alive?" Leng Shi replied as he froze the part of his back that was shot.
"Mmm" he groaned in pain.
"Who the fuck do you think is tired of living?" asked Leng Shi in a vexed tone, he then abruptly moved his head.
*Bang*
The part of the tree where Leng Shi's head was a second ago exploded, its pieces flying through the air with the mantle of the tree falling to the ground.
"Did you get that?" asked Leng Shi who had already moved to another tree.
"Sure. 48° NW" answered Lei Shi.
"Let's go fuck this tortoise up" said Leng Shi in a now angry tone.
*Swoosh*
A blue and a yellow streak of light dashed and snaked through trees, going in the northwest direction.
"No need for you two to rush, I'm not gonna run" the twins heard a woman's voice tell them as they reached the source of the earlier two shots.
"Turns out I was right. Two saber wielding men with Black and Yellow, Black and Blue HTB suits respectively. You guys are Frost King and Bolt King. Big fan! But I never expected that you both would get higher level HTB suits that are two ranks higher than your previous ones, and so soon at that. You guys truly are worthy of my admiration" said the owner of the voice, who was a woman in a Rank 4 HTB suit that had leaves attached to it that were meant to serve as camouflage. She had a slim two-meter long sniper in her hand, and didn't look afraid to use it.
They didn't like the way she had been able to recognize their identities. That either meant she was very observant or she had been watching them for long. Whichever of the two it was, they had to kill her. If she recognized the items they stole, either now or later when the news of Acme Company being robbed spread, it would become a big problem, especially if she reported. They weren't ready to have more bounty added on their heads.
"Ohhh, if it ain't another fan" said Leng Shi to the woman. "Do you want an autograph?" he added spiteful as he unsheathed his saber.
"No, actually, I wanted your heart. But on second thought, since I'm in a good mood just put your heads in a bag and nobody will get hurt" she said, seeming to want to provoke Leng Shi further.
