Flame Lady explained "This Green Jade Mamba we're fighting has laid its eggs in the lake and he is going to retrieve them. Its poison is so potent that if it is killed directly and its poison flows into the lake, not even its eggs will be able to survive its poison".
She explained sparsely not because she didn't want them to know the full details but because she felt like she was explaining to a dead man.
"Oh... So that's it. Ah senior. You should have said so earlier. Now I'm embarrassed. But nonetheless, I'm still grateful senior. Who knew you had such a great treasure in store? It is our great fortune that you stopped us and blessed us with such a priceless opportunity to get a share of such great treasures. Also, now that I know that you're coming back, I can put my heart at ease." Lei Shi said to the man in the Green-colored Rank 6 HTB Armor, sounding delighted and grateful. He then added "I'll be awaiting your return!" sounding like he'll only feel safe when that man is around.
Hearing Lei Shi's words and seeing his behavior, the man was disgusted in him. He looked down on him for his gullibility, for him being so reverential to him after only seeing a bit of his power.
Upon seeing that Lei Shi had calmed down and was fighting the Green Jade Mamba like his life depended on it, he jumped into the Lake and dived deeper.
Lei Shi, Leng Shi and the remaining teammates continued the fight with the Green Jade Mamba.
On the outside, it looked them same as when it was that other man who was the vanguard, but in reality, it wasn't. The controllers let the Green Jade Mamba go out of hand many times. The Protector on the other hand didn't make any moves to protect Lei Shi and Leng Shi at all; rather, she only focused on her two teammates, the two controllers.
The Green Jade Mamba, after being injured to a critical level, began spraying not only a stream of water from its mouth, but water mixed with its poison, making it super deadly.
The fight continued, but only for a minute after the man dived into the lake. As soon as it passed a minute, Lei Shi immediately pulled out his gun and fired a super-charged electric beam at the maw of the Green Jade Mamba which had water and poison spurting out of it.
*Zap*
*Crackle*
The electric beam hit the water coming out of the Green Jade Mamba's mouth, leading to the Green Jade Mamba being electrocuted from the inside out.
"You fool! Do you want to get us killed?!" Flame Lady exclaimed fiercely.
*Hiss*
The Green Jade Mamba was infuriated as it hissed loudly and spun its body on the ground, sweeping its tail over the floor. Seeing the incoming tail, they all jumped into the air to avoid it.
*Whoosh* the Green Jade Mamba darted forward, biting towards Lei Shi and the others while they were still airborne.
"How was I supposed to know this would happen? You never told me." Lei Shi replied Flame Lady. He then flew in her direction, bringing the ire of the Green Jade Mamba with him.
"You Bastard" Flame Lady shouted vexed. She gritted her teeth and pulled out a gun which looked like a P-19 rifle, she then triggered it to increase its size and structure that it now looked like a Bazooka.
*Boom*
She directly fired a heavy shot at Lei Shi. The gun shot out a stream of fire like a flamethrower, more accurately, like a condensed stream of dragon breath.
Lei Shi, seeing the fire streaming towards him, waited till it was close to him before dodging to the side, causing it to hit the Green Jade Mamba.
This attack charred the Green Jade Mamba's scales, infuriating it further.
Instead of retreating, it directly opened its maw and spat out more poisoned water.
Flame Lady was put in a tight spot.
If she continued attacking, she would become the new vanguard fighting a crazed Green Jade Mamba, which was a risk to her life, one that she wasn't willing to take. But then again, if she decided to retreat, the Green Jade Mamba might escape into the lake behind her, and that would multiply the difficulty of killing it since water was its domain. Moreover, her teammate was still in the lake.
*Boom*
She fired her gun once more, hitting the stream of poisoned water.
*Whoosh*
The stream of water was turned to vapor as soon as it collided with stream of fire.
Under normal conditions that wouldn't be so bad, but now that it had poison mixed with it, it made something as simple as breathing, a dangerous thing to do.
The collision of the streams of water and fire created a heavy mist, a poison mist. This mist blurred everyone's vision except for Flame Lady because her HTB suit provided her with X-Ray vision.
As soon as the mist enveloped their battlefield, Flame Lady immediately activated her HTB suit's X-Ray vision. However, before she could catch her breath, the next thing she saw was the Green Jade Mamba's head darting towards her with its maw wide open and its giant fangs bared at her.
"Crap" Flame Lady cursed.
She then brought out a ball that was about the size of the tennis ball from the storage compartment of her HTB suit and threw it into the maw of the Green Jade Mamba.
BOOM
The ball exploded as soon as it entered the mouth of the Green Jade Mamba, causing the Green Jade Mamba to close its mouth. However, it didn't retreat, instead it hit her with its closed maw.
*Bamm* she was sent flying backwards.
Flame Lady tumbled backwards for a few meters after receiving such a heavy attack from the Green Jade Mamba. But as soon she forcefully stopped and stabilized herself in mid-air, she was whipped down by the tail of the Green Jade Mamba.
*Smack*
*Crash*
Flame Lady crashed into the ground and coughed out a mouthful of blood, receiving these attacks consecutively was devastating her body.
She was confused. She didn't know why the Green Jade Mamba was able to get the room attack her like that. She asked herself why her teammates weren't restricting its movements as they should be.
Her thoughts were broken by the Green Jade Mamba, as it coiled around her in an attempt to lock her in a death grip.
*Bamm*
To escape, she released a huge burst of flames from all parts of her body.
These flames were able to char the scales of the snake and propel her out of harm's way. But that wasn't the end; the Green Jade Mamba kept on attacking, locking her in a life-threatening battle.
*Clash Bang* weapons repeatedly collided at the other side of the battlefield.
A little earlier, when the mist formed, Lei Shi and Leng Shi abruptly turned their blades from the Green Jade Mamba and attacked the other two teammates of Flame Lady, who were in charge of restricting the Green Jade Mamba's movements. That was why the Green Jade Mamba was able to attack Flame Lady so freely.
*Bang*
Leng Shi fired a large blue orb at one of the unsuspecting teammates who was trying to restrict the movements of the Green Jade Mamba, so that it wouldn't be able to wreak havoc in the newly formed mist.
*Boom*
*Krrrr*
The teammate, who was the lean man that had arrived late with Flame Lady to the secret facility of Kangaroo Corps the other day that they stole the Three-horned Komodo Dragon egg, attacked the orb with his weapon which was a spear, leading to it breaking open and pouring blue fluid over him which instantly solidified, encasing both his arm and spear in Blue ice.
*Bang*
The lean man smashed his spear-wielding hand, which was encased in ice, on the ground. However, it didn't shatter. Only some of the ice on the exterior fell off.
"Huh?!" he was utterly shocked and confused. But before he could try again, a saber came slashing towards his head. He raised his ice-encased arm and blocked it. But that didn't protect him from all danger.
*Bamm* a punch landed squarely on his gut.
It was a heavy punch, one that caused him to cough out saliva with his eyes widening to point that they looked like they would pop.
At that moment, he took that chance and saw Leng Shi clearly.
Leng Shi withdrew his hand, revealing that the place he had punched had begun to freeze.
*Poof*
His HTB suit released cold gases which froze the lean man and the surrounding mist, resulting in ice condensing on the lean man's body and in the air.
"Arghh!" the lean man yelled in response to the bone-chilling cold that was ravaging his arm, stomach and everywhere in general. He then punched towards Leng Shi's head.
*Swoosh*
Leng Shi dodged the punch, pulled out his gun and shot at the lean man's feet, freezing them to the floor.
*Bang Bang*
The man was startled and wanted to break free, but it was too late.
*Slash* Leng Shi hacked from the side towards the lean man's head.
*Bang*
The result was him cutting through the lean man's hand, which he had raised up as a hasty defense, and his head.
Lei Shi, on the other hand, ended his battle with the other teammate a lot faster.
