Chapter 11 - “Arnvirutashmi, Arnvirutashmi!”

[Author note: Changing name of Elven Knight Technique to Elven Knight Manual]

--------

Not long after, Carlotta returned to her dorm.

As she munched on dry bread bought from the cafeteria, she flipped through the magic book given by Soren, gaining a general understanding of more card magic information.

Although there were unexpected gains, she still wanted to focus her main energy on the Elven Knight Manual. After flipping through the magic book for a while, she placed it on the desk.

She picked up the Rose Thorn and practiced diligently in her dorm. Each stroke, each flick, each stab, reveals the practitioner's graceful figure. The aesthetic value of the moves was such that their fame across the continent was well-deserved.

Fortunately, each student's dorm was quite spacious. As long as the movements weren't too large, practicing Knight Manual was entirely possible.

The first movement, Elven Butterfly Dance, emphasizes agility. The second movement, Elven Phantom Sound, focused on unpredictability.

When the sword stabbings, the sound of breaking air often accompanies it.

Under the Elven Phantom Sound, the origin of the breaking air sound became difficult to discern.

Combined with the Elven Butterfly Dance, it can make the attack seem both real and illusory, both present and absent, and infinitely variable.

Having mastered the Elven Butterfly Dance, Carlotta naturally wanted to quickly master the Elven Phantom Sound, which was within the capabilities of a second-level apprentice.

Fortunately, mastering the Elven Phantom Sound wasn't difficult.

The intelligence system fully presented the methods of cultivating Elven Knight Manual, including many detailed descriptions.

Only someone like Elora Thorne, the human expert who had adapted the Elven Knight Manual for humans, could have such a deep understanding of the Elven Knight Manual.

Learning Elven Knight Manual under these conditions was like having the legendary expert Elora Thorne personally teaching her. It was hard not to make rapid progress.

Not long after, as Carlotta wielded the Rose Thorn, faint sounds of breaking air accompanied her movements, coming from all directions.

If one only listened, it would seem like an endless onslaught of attacks, making it difficult to know how to defend.

Movement Two: Elven Phantom Sound, successfully mastered!

This result delighted Carlotta. She performed the Elven Phantom Sound several more times, filled with motivation for her future training path.

To master Movement Three, she will need to become a third-level apprentice. The immediate priority was to increase her total mana.

For apprentices, the stage of becoming a transcendent was a process of increasing mana.

Training knight manuals could enhance magic power, as could meditation, and even external items like alchemical potions could boost magic power.

Carlotta couldn't obtain those precious alchemical potions now, but being able to train both Knight Manual and magic meant her progress would definitely surpass that of other first-year students... well, except for those two noble ladies.

As noble ladies, whether it was Amelia or Soren, their families must have millions of resources.

Advancing in rank was too easy for them. Carlotta didn't know how far these two prominent figures had progressed, but it was certainly beyond the reach of others.

"I'm not bad either. I'll catch up to them sooner or later," Carlotta said with confidence.

She practiced for a while longer until the night deepened, then tidied up, went to the bathroom to wash up, changed into her pajamas, and fell into a deep sleep.

...

The night grew deeper, so silent it seemed as if the world had lost its voice.

The red moonlight illuminated the drawn curtains, casting a bewitching hue on them.

In the room, on the desk, a magic book suddenly opened without anyone controlling it, revealing the mastery methods of card magic.

Page after page, the magic book rapidly flipped through, the sound of turning pages so loud that it made Carlotta, who was sleeping on the bed, instinctively turn over.

When the book reached the center, the content on the pages began to distort.

What was originally a method of mastering card magic changed into lines of text completely different from the current language of the Wendell Empire. It wasn't any language Carlotta had learned in class. It was an ancient script!

The ancient script was complex and profound. As it appeared, it emitted a radiant light, a bewitching red and purple intertwined, crawling on the pages and eventually climbing out of the book. It piled up on the desk, gradually forming a strange figure of intertwined red and purple.

This bizarre figure had a humanoid upper body and floated towards Carlotta on the bed. It had no legs, its lower body connected to the desk, stretching long as its upper body ascended.

It reached the bed, placed its hands on Carlotta's head, and uttered the ancient words, "Arnvirutashmi, Arnvirutashmi!"

This ancient language seems to carry a special power. As it was spoken, Carlotta, in her sleep, began to chant, "Arnvirutashmi, Arnvirutashmi!"

The strange figure continued, "Arnvirutashmi, Soren Carlisle."

Carlotta followed, "Arnvirutashmi, Soren Carlisle."

Suddenly, a look of discomfort appeared on Carlotta's face, as if her instincts told her that continuing to chant would lead to disaster.

The next moment, the mana within her surged, and her ruby eyes snapped open.
