Looking at her pouting, his heart turned into a puddle of honey. But he know her periods are around the corner. So he took the glass away from her shaking his head.
There was a year end party for the Zhang enterprise last summer and Li Jing took Chen yumi with her. Yumi had the strawberry cake there and loved it. she couldn't stop eating.
Yichan who observed her, hired the chef to be in this restaurant which had a view of the green scenery all around. Chen Yumi always loved to come to this place.
"even if I leave, you can come here anytime you want and eat it. No one will stop you." - he said, urging her to drink warm water.
Li Jing, Zhao Yang who kept bickering saw this and felt sad for Yichan. he was always attentive to her. what she was eating, if her heels hurt her feet, is she cold, her painful period cramps - every single thing.
He tends to her every time much better than Xu Hao but he was too scared to express his feelings to her when they were in school and by the time he gained courage, it was already too late. Xu Hao had already taken action by then.
After the meal, they talked for a bit of time. suddenly, Zhao yang signalled Li Jing and said, "I have something to give to you, why don't you drop by my place?"
looking at Zhao Yang suspiciously, Li Jing was about to question him when he kicked her under the table and signalled to Yumi and Yichan. Understanding, what he was trying to say, she answered, "oh yes, I forgot about it too. Sorry Yumi, let brother Yichan drop you today okay?" - saying this they both ran away leaving Yichan and Yumi.
after walking out of the restaurant, Zhao Yang texted Yichan, "This is your last chance, have a nice chat with Yumi, tell your goodbyes and move on bro. I really wish you both can be together but Yichan, yumi loves him. please don't waste your life waiting anymore."
Reading the message, Yichan was in a dilemma. This is really the last time he would see her, his love for more than 10 years will be coming to an end after today without even the other person knowing it.
there wasn't a single day passes by when he doesn't blame himself for being a coward. he should have expressed his feelings when they were in school.
If that would have happened, wouldn't they be already married by now. he didn't know why he was so scared of loosing her. But now he himself is going away from her life.
All his life, all he really wanted was to spend his every evening with her. there were many times, he had thoughts of snatching her from Xu Hao but he was scared.
scared that she might misunderstand him. Scared that she might hate him for breaking them apart.
Looking at her, he wanted to be selfish for once.
this is the only chance he have, and he wants to make the most out of it.
"yumi?" - he called.
and when she looked up to him with her big eyes, the words he wanted to tell her were struck in his throat. the only words he could blurt out to her after staring at her for a minute were, "Lets go, I will drop you."
Nodding at him, she got up and walked outside with him. when they were about to enter the car she said, "Brother Yichan, Can you drop me at the hospital? I want to stay with mom tonight."
Nodding at her, he opened the door for her to sit and went to the driver seat.
Starting the car, he was driving when Yumi spoke, "Brother Yichan, you have to take care of yourself when you are in US okay? and visit us when you have time. Do not forget about us when you go there and make new friends okay?"
Stopping at red light, he looked at her and smiled. only he knew how much he wants to stay by her side everyday. Only if somehow everything turns around and he can marry her instead of Xu Hao.
raising his hand, he put it on her head and ruffled her hair. his heart was full looking at her and having her close to him.
When the traffic light turned green, the car started moving and none of them spoke again. Suddenly It started raining outside.
after 10 minutes of drive, when they were crossing at an intersection, Chen Yumi saw someone on the footpath, walking into a restaurant and said to Yichan, "Brother Yichan, Can you stop the car please right now?."
looking at yumi who was struggling to look outside the window, Zhang Yichan pulled the car off the road and stopped on the side. Since it was a busy road, he had to park a bit far from the intersection.
Without waiting for him, Chen Yumi got down and ran to the restaurant she saw the couple enter with all her might.
Zhang Yichan was scared out of his wits , he has never seen Yumi so frantic, he got down from his car and followed her.
By the time, he reached to the restaurant where Yumi ran to, he found that Yumi was enquiring the front staff present there, about something.
"we are very sorry Miss, we cannot just give the details of the customers out for privacy reasons." the front staff replied.
"I know him. he is my fiancee. If- If -If you don't believe me you can come with me and find it out yourself." - Yumi tried to convince the Staff.
Going closer to Yumi, Yichan pulled her to him, placing his hands on her shoulders , he looked at her and said, "Yumi, Calm down and tell me what happened? why are you behaving this way? who did you see just now? Did you see Xu Hao?"
Looking at Yichan with panic in her eyes , she said, "Brother Yichan, Can you please help me Find out which room they are in? I will tell you everything, but I need to go see it for myself first."
