Its been a week since her mother woke up from coma, her mother held her and cried about everything Yumi has gone through.
Mother Chen felt really sad for her daughter. when Father Chen was alive, he always treated her like a princess. she never had to go through any difficulty.
But looking at her daughter, having to leave behind her dream to become an architect and work at the company where she had no idea, Mother Chen's heart hurt.
But when Chen Yumi said she had a boyfriend that treats her really well, mothers Chen's heart was slightly relived.
"I am glad that you had someone by your side, when I wasn't. Mom is really sorry to have put you through this. if I had gone without seeing you getting married, I wouldn't be able to show my face to your father."- Mother Chen said holding her hands.
"Mom, don't say that. I am happy that you woke up and you will be here to see everything now." - Yumi said with tears running down her face.
the mother and daughter duo were very happy chatting with each other, while a nurse walked in and called Yumi saying that doctor wants to talk to her.
"mom, you just woke up. you must be tired after talking for so long. Have a rest first, I will go talk to the doctor." - she said walking out of her mothers room.
Inside the Doctors room,
"Miss Chen, the fact that your mother woke up after sustaining an injury that bad is a miracle itself. So you have to be really careful when letting her know about things that make her sad or anxious. those kind of emotions can cause her harm.
She is still not very conscious about everything. she wakes up and forgets lots of things. she might not remember what you told her today by the time she wakes top tomorrow. so, you will have to be patient with her.
try to keep her happy and relaxed. any kind of mental stress or physical stress, I am afraid that she might not wake up next time." - the doctor said.
Taking a note on the doctors words, Chen Yumi walked out of the room and stood in front of her mothers room watching her mother sleeping.
Mother Chen looked so haggard, even though she was taken care of, her body looked so weak and her face pale. Looking at her mother who used to smile all the time, Chen yumi felt her heart being stabbed with a very sharp knife.
when she remembered the doctors words, only one thought came into her mind. Her mother is only worried about her. so the only way to keep her mother happy is to let her mother know that she is happy with her life.
thinking for sometime, she called Xu Hao and asked him to meet her.
After meeting with Xu Hao, she called Li Jing.
"Hello Yumi." - said Li Jing picking up the call.
"Jing jing, mom woke up today." - said Chen yumi.
"what? really? where are you now? I am coming over to the hospital right way. wait for me." - said Li Jing hanging up the phone.
After 25 minutes, Li jing arrived at the hospital and saw that Chen yumi was waiting for her.
"Yumi" - shouted Li Jing before running towards yumi and hugging her.
"I am so happy for you. how many times have you prayed for this day. Finally auntie woke up." - she said.
Pulling away, Chen yumi dragged Li Jing towards the coffee shop near the hospital.
"hey hey, I want to visit auntie. where are you dragging me yumi?" - shouted Li Jing while getting dragged away.
"keep quiet and come with me, I will take you to see mom soon." - she said.
Inside the cafe.
"what?" - shouted Li Jing.
"jing jing, keep your voice low. everyone is looking at us" - Chen yumi shushed her friend looking around embarrassed.
"CHEN YUMI, HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?" - asked Li Jing who was furious.
"you seriously asked Xu Hao to marry you? are you for real?" - she fumed.
"Jing jing, he is my boyfriend and I Iove him. what is wrong with me marrying him?" - Chen yumi said to Li Jing trying to make her understand.
"yumi, if you want to make auntie happy and relaxed, there are many other ways to do that. Take her on a vacation, spa, give her jewellery or something else. Hell, let's set her up with a boyfriend who is young and sexy."
rolling her eyes, Yumi asked"Jing Jing, do you know that first thing mom said to me when she woke up?"
"she told me that she was sorry for leaving me all by myself. she was so sad that she would have gone without seeing me get married. only after I told her I have a boyfriend and we were getting married, she was able to smile a bit."
"I am finally happy that she woke up. if me getting married will keep her happy, I have no problem in getting married at all."
"Right now, there is nothing important for me than to keep mom happy and healthy. She is the only family I have Jingjing, I Can't bear the thought of losing her again" - Chen Yumi said.
Listening to Yumi, Li jing sighed. She knew no matter how happy chen yumi was, she dearly missed her parents. Within a small time, she lost her father and almost lost her mum.
All these years, she had taken care of Mother Chen. she knew why Yumi has taken this decision, but Li Jing was worried about yumi.
"are you sure you want to spend the rest of your life with Xu Hao?" - Li Jing asked looking at her.
"Jing jing, I know my mom very well, ever since dad passed away, she hasn't been herself at all. and when that accident happened you know how devastating it was for me. But now that mom has woken up , I cannot take any chances to make her sad and I think this is the best way for me to keep her happy.
So, please I am requesting you to be on my side. I need you by my side. I really cannot do this alone." - Chen yumi said.
Sighing, Li Jing held Yumi's hand and said,
"I am always on your side and you know that. I will surely support you. but even if you marry him, I don't think Xu Hao's family will accept you.
But No matter what, You have to promise me that you will contact me anytime things gets tough for you. okay?"
"I know, they won't accept me but Xu Hao said he will convince them this time for sure. And don't worry, you are my sister and my best friend, if something happens, I will surely contact you."
