Fang Chengguo, the CEO of the Fang industries was a friend of Chen Yumi. Father Fang and Father Chen were good friends.
After Father Chen's death, Fang Chengguo helped Chen yumi a lot. But when he proposed to her, she rejected him saying she was already in love with Xu Hao.
But Fang Chengguo always liked her and wanted to marry her.
When Chen Yumi came to the Fang industries, Fang Chengguo was waiting to get into the elevator.
Looking at Chen Yumi who was asking the receptionist to meet him, he was surprised. Walking towards her, he asked, "Yumi, what are you doing here?"
"thank god, I met you Chengguo. I need to speak to you about something really important. Can you please give me 5 minutes of your time?" - Chen Yumi requested.
Looking at Yumi who ws in a rush, he nodded his head , "Sure, come with me. Let's talk in the office."- Fang Chengguo said leading her to the elevator.
Inside the Office,
"Get us a cup of coffee" - he said to his assistant and went to sit on the couch where Chen yumi was sitting looking nervous and fidgeting her hands.
smiling, "yumi, you don't have to get nervous around me. Whatever it is, just tell me. I will try to help you as long as it is within my capabilities." - he said gently.
Taking a deep breath, she looked at him. "Chengguo, didn't you say you like me? Do you still do?"
Taken aback by her sudden question, he looked at her cautiously.
"Are you here to joke around so early in the morning yumi?" - he asked with a hint of smile.
"Chengguo, I am not joking. You said you like me and we can get married if I agree right?"
when he nodded his head hesitatingly, she continued,
"Then, can we get married today?" - she asked.
widening his eyes, he asked, "Yumi is everything okay? you are scaring me? can you please tell me what is all this about? and what about your boyfriend?"
Taking a deep breath, she explained everything that happened to him. After listening to her, he looked up in her eyes and said, "Yumi, I am really sorry that this has happened to you."
"But are you sure you want to get married to me? Maybe you misunderstood him? or what if you regret getting married later? Or maybe explain to auntie?"
"Chengguo, I can't promise about everything but if we get married, I can promise you, I won't go back to him or be unfaithful to you. I am not someone who forgets help. I won't forget your help and understanding all my life." - she said with determination.
Fang Chengguo looked at her with hesitation. he liked her for so long. he has always been her admirer. it look a lot of courage for him to propose to her but when he got rejected, he was devastated.
Now that she herself was asking to get married, he was on cloud nine. But he was also hesitant. Being the only heir of Fang industries, he has to think a lot of about things that might affect him and the company. he was in a dilemma.
Sighing, he said, "Yumi, I am ready to get married and I will also help you return the money back to Mr.Xu. But you have to sign a contract saying you will never divorce me."
without going here a chance to talk he explained,
"Don't misunderstand me, I am only proposing this because I have to take my parents, myself and the company into consideration.
My personal matters affect the way company works too. So, I cannot afford a divorce. That's why.
And dont worry, I know you have no feelings for me, so I won't force you and I will never mistreat you." - he explained.
Taking a deep breath, she nodded at him, she said, "I understand Chengguo. I am ready to sign the contract. you dont have to worry about divorce."
Her answer made him smile, Nodding at her, "then when do you want to go get married?" he asked.
"It needs to be today please"
when he nodded his head, she continued, "It's 9:30 am now, Can you meet me at the civil affairs bureau at 12pm? I will go home, freshen up and get my ID."
"Sure, I will get someone to prepare the contract and bring it directly to the Civil Affairs office." - he said.
Nodding her head, she got up, "okay then, I will meet you there and will sign before we get married."
Just then, the assistant came with the coffee. "At least have some coffee before you leave."- suggest Fang Chengguo.
"No, Thank you Chengguo. I will meet you directly at the civil affairs office." - Chen Yumi said before going out.
Looking at the Assistant, "Cancel all my meetings today after 11 AM and help me prepare a contract."- he said.
"But sir, you have meeting with Zhao Enterprises in the afternoon." - his secretary reminded.
Thinking for a second, he said "I will talk to Brother Zhao Yang".
When the secretary nodded his head and left, he took out his phone and called Zhao Yang.
"Hello Brother Yang"
"oh, isn't the meeting supposed to be in the afternoon? did I get the time wrong?" - said Zhao yang.
"no, brother Yang, I am calling you with a request to postpone the meeting" - Said Fang Chengguo.
"Postpone the meeting? Chengguo, am I hearing things? You are known to be the most punctual person in our circle. " - said Zhao Yang.
"Haha Brother Yang, you flatter me. I just hope you can postpone this meeting for the sake of our friendship" - he said.
"alright then, let my assistant know when you are free next time. so we can discuss about the project."
"Thank you Brother Yang. I owe you one" - Said Fang Chengguo.
