I walked out slowly.
Even now, I'm starting to regret that I chose to go first than them.
There are so many of them, I can't count them and I don't have time to count now. I looked at kuya when he whispered to us.
"We will need a car," he added.
I just nodded to him and the five of us looked for a car together.
"That one!" I was startled when I heard Ali shout along with all the zombies turning to us.
Aish! nuisance!
"Run!" That's the last thing I heard kuya say before completely exiting the glass door of the mall.
I ran quickly to my left and immediately kicked the zombie who first attacked me.
I immediately prepared my arrow and bow and in less than a second I released it to the zombies greeting me. I was walking backwards while shooting them.
I can see in my peripheral view how Matt was hitting the zombies with his two arnis on both of his sides.
Xavier was just like playing baseball in throwing it at every head of the creatures. I was gaping because of my amazement.
I looked at kuya on my left and I was just shocked because of how many were attacking him. Someone attacked on his right and he greeted it with a strong kick to its stomach and hit it with his baseball bat.
Someone attacked on his left and was about to bite him on the neck, but he blocked he's arm with a thick magazine which caused it not to be able to grab him.
I was about to run to the van that Ali pointed to earlier. But I notice him struggling with his weapon. Toy weapon to be exact! I don't have a right to insult him but I just really need my anger to let it out that I've been suppressing since earlier.
"You stupid!" I shouted at him who was like a madman shooting his toy at the zombie that was approaching him. He didn't even take down one. He's so stupid and I hate it!
Ali turned to my direction while smiling widely. I don't really get his aura. Last night he was serious, and now he's like an escapee from the mental hospital with how wide he's smiling.
He pointed me while running to my side.
"Chase her, quickly!" he shouted.
What the?
My eyes widened when he approached me and hid behind me which caused the zombies to see me and not him.
I immediately moved and shot them even though some were off! Sh*t!
"What the hell are you doing?!" I asked him frantically.
I know my question was stupid and the answer was obvious that he wanted to use me as bait to the zombies but I didn't think he was this bad!
"The bait is short!" he shouted again and ignored me. Even those who were approaching Matt, Xavier and kuya earlier also went to our direction. We were all their target!
I was gaping and couldn't move my hands that were still holding my bow and arrow that now had no arrow.
"Hurry! Mrs and I are about to be eaten!" I could still hear Ali shout behind me.
I wanted to push him to my front so he would feel the feeling of losing hope. In a blink of an eye, I went back to being the young Alice who was weak and could only stand and be stunned. I clenched my fists that were now trembling.
They were close to me and my brain suddenly went blank when a strong force pulled me away from the zombies that were approaching us. After that was a loud explosion that caused me to cover my ears that couldn't hear anything now.
It feels like De Jàvu! This happened when we were in the building with kuya.
The four of us ran to the van and immediately got in.
Ali stayed outside and was still waving his right hand while holding a.. g-grenade? Is that the bait he said earlier?
I thought I was the bait all along! I judged him immediately!
"You okay sis? I'm sorry if I didn't tell you the plan. Ali was so stupid to choose you as a bait, I said it's either me or one of his friends!" kuya said angrily while removing the magazine that was on his arm. His mouth grimaced a few times while removing it because there was still saliva left by the zombies.
I can't blame him if he didn't tell me his plan. I was the last one to wake up among them, they probably made a plan while I was still sleeping, a lot has also happened so he probably forgot.
But Ali could have told me the plan while he was approaching me, not that I myself believed that he was a bad person!
"Asta la vista, baby!" I looked outside when Ali shouted and saw him throwing the grenade he was holding with all his might at the creatures that were just a few meters away from the van we were riding.
Before it could explode, Ali got in the van faster than the speed of light and even though he hadn't closed the door yet, I immediately felt kuya driving it fast.
I was about to think that kuya was getting revenge on Ali now because he didn't think about the latter and immediately drove the van. But just as we left the place was when the grenade that Ali was holding earlier exploded.
Timing..
I closed my eyes tightly and tried not to look to my side when I felt something splash next to my window. I bit my lips as I started to feel my chest tightened and my hands shaking uncontrollably. I held my hands tightly and tried to calm myself. Sh*t!
Blood.
"Yuck! Disgusting!" Ali complained who I know was now sitting near the window of the van. The three of them were at the back while kuya was in the driver seat and I was in the front seat.
"That was intense!" I heard Xavier say.
"Ali Madrigal," we heard kuya called Ali using his warning voice.
I opened my eyes when I finally calmed myself. I feel relieved since Erros didn't notice my actions. We all turned to kuya at the same time who was just focusing his gaze on the person he called. I tilted my head, how did he know his full name?
"What again, gay?" Ali answered without enthusiasm.
Kuya seemed to be annoyed by being called gay so he took something- a small stuff toy- and threw it in Ali's direction. Xavier laughed.
"Stop calling me bakla. I'm not gay!" kuya defend himself.
I took a deep breath because despite the many events today, their childish-and-gay bickering is still not over. And as expected, Ali just stuck his tongue out at him.
"Apologizes to my sister. You make her as a bait earlier. Don't you know how it will make her traumatized because of your childish act, you stupid?!" Kuya's eyes were glaring while looking at the rear view mirror. I'm sure that it reflects it to Ali side.
I wasn't expecting Ali to apologize because of his childish thinking.
But it make me want him to apologize when both of his colleagues force him to apologize to me. It's like his pride will disappear if he apologizes to me. And kuya is right, it traumatized me then and now.
"You're also stupid. I told you to approach me!" Xavier blamed his friend.
"She's the one to blame. She called me 'you stupid' so I just approached her!" Ali reasoned. So it's my fault now? I bitterly laughed.
"Just apologize Ali," Xavier insisted.
"Don't be childish," Matt added.
"Lower your pride. She loves you so she'll forgi-"
"Stop right there. Xavier," Kuya ordered.
Xavier raised both of his hands and laughed again.
"Uy Rhyme, sorry boss," Xavier apologized while still laughing.
I remained silent while closing my eyes again and leaning on the headrest of the seat. I massaged my temple, my head was hurting because of what was happening now. But I also opened my eyes when I heard Ali's 'pride'.
"Sorry..." he said.
"Yown!" I heard Matt and Xavier exclaimed.
"Misis," he added so I was annoyed and closed my eyes while trying to stop myself from getting angry.
"Alice," I corrected him.
"Misis," he repeated.
"Alice," I emphasized and then opened my eyes and looked straight at the window of the car.
"It's Mrs!" he insisted.
Even though I was annoyed by his calling me Mrs, I just ignored him and closed my eyes again. I don't want to act childish like him. I don't want to bother anymore and be like kuya who's always badtrip with him.
"She's not your wife," I heard kuya say.
My vision completely darkened and I gave in to the flow of sleep that I had been feeling since earlier.
