"I-I just now I remember--"
"Kuya!" I shouted.
I quickly blocked myself in front of Kuya before he could attack Drew again with a strong punch. I was trying to stop him from going to Drew who was now sitting on the floor. Blood was still dripping from his nose. I'm also mad at Drew but not to the point that I would hurt him.
God! How did I end up in this kind of situation?
"It's all your fault! If you just gave that map to us as early as possible then we would know that this fcking door is broken. You b*llsh*t!" Kuya shouted angrily at the man.
I saw how my Kuya clenched his two hands and gave a dagger look to Drew. The three were just peeking at us while their foreheads were now furrowed and seemed to be asking.
"Why? What did this one do to you?" Xavier asked in surprise. Right, they don't know what just happened.
"He trapped us in the Chief's Office. Where the zombie Chief is in there," I explained to them. I saw Drew wipe his bloody nose and bowed his head.
"What? What the heck!" My lips parted when I saw Xavier was also about to attack Drew but Matt immediately stopped him. While Ali was just giving Drew a bad look.
"Don't," That's all Matt said but it became a magic word for Xavier to stop from attacking Drew and he just gave him a deadly look. I think this is the first time I've seen Xavier get angry, and it scares me too.
"Please Kuya. Calm yourself. Your anger can't do anything if what's supposed to happen has already happened," I turned to Kuya instead.
He just looked me in the eyes before nodding and started to calm himself.
I immediately approached Drew and immediately grabbed his collar.
"Just tell me there's another way out here, and I'll spare your life away," I threatened him and held the collar of his clothes tightly.
He is our only hope here, and even though he lied to us earlier I will bet my trust on him again just to get out of this place because I still need to live, not only for myself, but for my family.
"I-in the chief office... t-there's a b-broken window there o-out of the station," he said stuttering.
I saw the fear in his eyes so I let go of him and stood up. I offered my hand to him, like what Kuya did to him. I saw how his eyes narrowed up to me with confusion.
"Let's go. We're not gonna hurt you if that's what you think," I said blankly to him.
Even though he was wondering about my actions, he quickly held my hand and I pulled him up strongly. I heard my companions gasp and Kuya approaching me, he patted my head and my shoulder.
He's calm now.
"We have no time. We really need to get out of here before our bullets run out," he said calmly.
We all nodded at what Kuya said. And even though Drew still seemed to have an aftershock, he was also able to nod to us.
"Right... ah... t-this is the way." He was trembling while saying that.
He immediately walked to the Chief's office that now had a broken door because of the big impact of the explosion earlier. We followed him and I was just following Drew while the three and Kuya were behind me. They were still shooting the zombies who were coming to us.
As soon as we entered the room, everything seemed to flashback to me. I didn't think we would survive the big zombie that we fought earlier. Thanks to the gun that Kuya's holding now.
"Wow! You took this down?!" Ali's eyes widened and even pointed to the chief who was now sprawled on the floor.
"No way..." Xavier said in disbelief.
We heard various comments from Xavier and Ali, Matt was just silent. Ali even poked the chief's cheek and was just like a child playing. Nothing surprising, he acts like a kid anyway.
"Here!" Drew shouted to us. I continued to walk to the window that Drew pointed to again. It no longer had a cover and was only made of wood. I peeked outside and we won't be falling from a great height. It was also dark outside and only the moon was serving as light in the surroundings.
"I'll go first?" Drew immediately jumped out of the window without even waiting for what we were going to say.
"Wow! He's even faster than Alice babes!" Xavier said sourly.
"Tsk. If he just tries to escape, I will really feed him to the zombies here inside," Kuya said angrily and restraining.
I shook my head at what they said and also climbed on the window then jumped out. I almost fell because I couldn't balance myself immediately when someone suddenly held my arm and immediately helped me stand up.
"Are you okay, Miss Alice?" I looked at Drew who I thought had already escaped. I nodded and he immediately let go of my hand.
"How did you know my name?" I asked him. I can't remember that I said my name to him.
"That's what they call you eh... and uh.. sorry--"
"Hey! What are you doing to my Mrs?" I felt someone on my left pull me away from Drew. I'm one hundred percent sure that it was Ali. Tsk. Mrs again.
Because it was dark, I turned on my flashlight and accidentally pointed it at Ali's face. He immediately closed his eyes.
"Nothing..," Drew just answered.
Ali already let go of me so I immediately peeked inside using the window. Matt, Xavier and Kuya were still inside. Matt was already starting to get out of the window and the two were left inside.
"Shorty squinty, get out of there!" Ali shouted so Matt suddenly hit Ali and told him not to make noise or shout.
"Kuya, get out now!" I also called Kuya when I noticed that they still weren't approaching the window.
When no one answered from the two creatures inside, I immediately asked for a grenade from Matt who was wearing a backpack.
"Give me a bomb," I said.
I held out my palm to him and he seemed surprised by what I said because of the widening of his round eyes.
"Mrs what are you planni--" Ali was about to say when I gave him a bad look. What the hell is he thinking? I'm going to throw this bomb inside while the two were still inside, seriously? Where is this one's brain?
Matt still hand a bomb to me then I turned my head to the window again.
"I'll throw a bomb inside and if you don't get out of there, you will burn together with the zombies!" I shouted loudly to the two who were still inside.
I felt relieved when I saw Xavier peeked at the window and mouthed 'Roger Ma'am!'. Xavier came out first and Kuya followed, Matt and Ali were shooting the creatures that were approaching the two.
Just as Kuya stepped on the ground was when I threw the grenade I was holding inside. We quickly ran to the van and heard the loud explosion of the grenade that I threw inside.
"Ouch!" I heard one of our companions shout.
We stopped running and looked at Drew who was now face down on the rocky ground.
"Karma!" Ali said laughing. Matt immediately hit Ali's mouth to shut him up. But like Ali, Kuya and Xavier also laughed at the poor Drew, so I just shook my head.
We were on the brink of death but they were still able to laugh somehow. How about me? Why I can't laugh out loud just like them? Can I even laugh?
"That's what you get, for being clumsy.." Xavier lectured the man.
Xavier and Matt held Drew on both arms and helped him stand up. Ali was still not stopping from laughing and was now holding his stomach.
We continue to run inside the van. I sat on the passenger seat again and Kuya on the driver seat again. The four were behind us and I could still hear Ali complaining that it was too crowded because they added one more again. They can occupy the third row of the chair but they insisted to sit together in second row. I couldn't see Drew's reaction and I also didn't hear him speak.
We started to get away from the Police station and dark surroundings were what we were passing by again.
I took a deep breath and hugged myself. I'm tired and scared of the next day that we will face. We may be safe tonight but tomorrow will be another survival day.
I closed my eyes and I was about to sleep.
"What the...." I heard Kuya mumbled.
Our car slowed down until it completely stopped running. We all turned to Kuya.
"F*ck?" he continued what he said.
Sh*t! The new morning hasn't even come yet but there's another problem again.
We were out of gas now.
"Oh no...."
