I woke up because of the noise I heard. When I opened my eyes, I didn't find any of my four companions. I panicked, so I jumped up without wasting time, I was lying down and saw a pillow and blanket supporting my head and body.
That's why even though it was cold, I was still able to sleep soundly.
I stood up and immediately bowed down when I saw that it was morning and the sunlight was too bright.
I looked around even though my vision was still blurry.
This mall is really big, there are a lot of posters attached to the glass barrier of the mall. I don't know any of them, but I'm sure they're famous models. Because of the size and length of the posters posted, we can hardly be seen here inside, but the zombies that we couldn't see last night, I can now see clearly and sh*t they're too many!
"You're awake. Let's go over there because your gay brother said the zombies can see us here," It's Ali.
Even though I was surprised by the one who spoke behind me, I just followed him. He also looks like he just woke up and still has a hangover because his hair is still messy and his eyes are still blinking.
He walked while staggering as if he was drunk. Tsk. Isn't he going to be the reason for us to be seen by those outside?
He kept messing with his already messy hair and was whispering something to himself.
"Why did they wake me up to him!?"
"They saw that I was still sleeping!"
"They could have just woken up his gay Kuya and then they would just pull each other's hair if he didn't wake up--"
Those are just some of what he was whispering that I could clearly hear. I bowed down even more when I saw some zombies outside looking at him, so I immediately pulled the sleeve of Ali's clothes so he would also bow down.
He looked at me and was about to speak but I widened my eyes at him and put my index finger on my lips.
"They will hear us if you complained again," I seriously warned him. He kept looking at me and eventually just rolled his eyes.
I let go of him so he started walking again. We only took a few steps because the rest of our companions were just stationed on the other side.
They're sitting around the backpacks, flashlights, canned goods and magazines? Don't tell me that until now they're still asserting their masculinity?
I couldn't hide my grimace anymore and just shook my head.
I was already sitting and so was Ali. I was next to kuya Erros while he was busy reading a magazine, I didn't waste any time looking at it because I might just catch something in my eyes.
Ali seated beside he's beloved friend, Matt. Xavier even gave Ali a fist bump which he just nodded at. He just laughed and messed up Ali's hair who was now closing his eyes and leaning on Matt's shoulder, and it looks like he's still going to sleep.
Sleepyhead.
"Put this magazines in your two arms, AC," kuya said to me and handed a somewhat thick magazine and large tape.
God Alice! Your mind is being polluted of green thingy. Tsk.
"Just follow what we're doing," kuya instructed me.
I just nodded in response. I didn't make eye contact with them again because I was accusing them of the wrong thing.
Why would they waste time looking inside the magazine if our lives are at stake here. I'm being paranoid and overreacting now!
"What's the use of this, kuya?" I asked him.
I couldn't stop myself from asking him while imitating how he was wrapping the magazine and tape around his arm.
"I just remembered it from the movie that I'd watched. World war Z is the title," he responded while rolling the magazine into his pale skin.
"Oh! I remember that! Brad Pitt is the star. Bro that's my idol," Xavier said and was even proud to proclaim his infatuation with an actor that I don't know.
He even gave kuya a high five which he immediately responded to.
"Same for me. So as I was saying, based on my observation from that movie, zombies tend to bite the arms of their victim including the neck to spread the virus. So it's important to have a shield and defense from their perilous teeth," my brother continued and then raise his one arm that was covered now of magazine.
I nodded and feel a little bit regret that I wasn't able to watch a zombie movies in my 25 years existence in this world, even once!
I'm not into zombie movies that my other brother is addicted to.
I gave a glimpse of that kind of movie, but not to the point that I would watch it till the end. I have so many priorities and I forget those kind of things.
Like hell! How would zombie exist in our world? And who the hell invented that word? And the faces of those dirty zombie? I can't find the purpose of making those imaginary thing into a real one. And now I can't believe that this character in movies will ever exist in this earth.
I hope now I have applied information that can help us fight the zombies. I didn't know that this would happen.
After preparing, we all had our own equipment while hiding on both shelves of the foods and goods.
Kuya and Xavier are holding a baseball bat, Matt has two arnis, while I have a bow and arrow.

My brother give it to me. Of course he knows what kind of weapon I want, so when I saw that, I couldn't hide the sparkle in my eyes. It's been a while since the last time I hold a bow and arrow.
"Stray cat?!" I heard Xavier exclaimed.
We turned to Xavier who seemed unable to believe what he was seeing, so I followed what he was looking at and immediately grimaced. This person must be lost because of what he's carrying.
We were all looking at Ali now, son of a b*tch. Why is he holding a water gun? What kind of mind does he have?
"What are you carrying, Ali?" Xavier asked again, I don't know if he was annoyed or laughing. But I'm certainly sure that I just heard my brother laugh.
"I wanted a gun. So I just brought this," he said and seemed proud of the weapon he chose.
"Seriously?!" I whispered to myself. What the? What can a water gun do to him?
"And then what? You're gonna shoot them with that gun of yours? Are you really that idiot or literally a fool?" kuya mocked him with a frown of his face. Xavier suddenly held his heart and pretended to be hurt by what my brother said.
"That's foul, dude!" he impart.
Kuya approached Ali and even gently tapped his cheek as if he was just waking him up. Ali must have been insulted, so he shot kuya with his water gun.
"F*ck! Stop that!" kuya shouted and ran behind me and hid, tsk.
I'm really thankful that this mall is soundproof so the noise that the two are making now can't be heard. I've also been wondering why they don't seem to see us, their heads are just raised and then tilted a little and then vise versa. They are weird actually, is this how zombies are?
Ali suddenly ran towards us and was about to shoot us with his water gun when I looked at him badly while still holding my bow.
He stopped running towards us and his lips became longer while still staring at me.
I smirked because of that.
"Miss get away from there! I'm going to shoot your gay brother!" he said to me but I composed myself and look directly on his eyes.
"I have a name, Mister," I answered him. He keeps calling me Miss.
My name is Alice, for god sake!
His lips became even longer because of my answer.
"Then I'll just call you Mrs--" I cut his words quickly.
"Don't continue what you're going to say if you don't want me to feed you alive to the zombies outside," I threatened him.
He smirked now. And he's also weird.
"Mrs," he said challenging. It's like my threat had no effect on him. Tsk.
"Woah AC. Did you just give a threat to him? You gave treath, AC? Am I dreaming?!" the cowardly one next to me who was still behind me said in disbelief.
Tsk.
I took a deep breath.
I might really go crazy because of the minds of these two. Damn!
I just focused my attention on our two other companions who were laughing and shaking their heads. Xavier who was laughing and Matt who was just shaking his head while smiling. It looks like this is what I'll always see on their faces. Xavier 'shorty' who likes to laugh so his eyes disappear, and Matt who just smiles.
"Matt! Xavier! C'mon!" I called them and turned around to go outside.
"Yes Ma'am!" Xavier answered who was followed by his laughter.
There's nothing we can do if Ali doesn't want to change his weapon. Let's see what his water gun can do to the zombies later.
Kuya is ahead of us followed by me while the three were behind me.
"Shouldn't Mrs be at the back?! Like what I watch, all the men are at the back to protect the wom---"
"Oh cmon Ali. There you go with your being childish."

"And besides. Her name is Alice, how many years do you need to remember their names?"

"I don't know about you Xavier. She has a name eh it's Mrs right?"-Ali
"What! You're so noisy! I don't know about you!"-Matt
"Luh Matt, you're speaking nihonggo there. You might be cursing us!"
There's only one thing I can say to them. They're so noisy that even their whispers I can still clearly hear.
"Kuya!" I called Erros for some reason.
Kuya immediately looked at me. We were already at the door and kuya was already removing the long metal that was wrapped around the glass door holder. We were all bowing down and hiding so the zombies outside wouldn't see us.
"Yes, lil sis?" my brother turned to me.
I got closer to him and said what I wanted.
"I'll go first," I said which he immediately refused. Oh, come on!
"No! Something might happen to you. I'll just--"
"Now!" I cut what he was going to say.
He just rolled his eyes because he probably noticed that I was serious. When do I joke?
He moved aside and let me go to the front. And before I could get to the door, I first looked at the three who were looking around and outside.
They're alerted too, but I'm more way alerted.
"And by the way. Next time you whisper, make sure that I'm not in front of you,"
I give my last word to them.
I left them stunned, especially Ali. Before I could get to the glass door, I still heard Ali's last words that sounded like he was just panicking, and kuya who looked like he was going to fight the childish one again.
"Oh no! Mrs heard us!" Ali said loudly.
"What did you do to her?" kuya asked him.
I opened the door slowly and watched the surroundings. You need to be alert, Alice.
I can see how many they are inside or outside the building, they are scattered all on the road and with just a little noise they will immediately be alerted. Their hearing sense is so alerting.
