~Grace on live support
Grace lay still, hands folded over the thin hospital blanket, eyes fixed on the ceiling. Time meant something different now. Once, she had been everywhere.
Now, she was here.
A heart patient in room 407.
A woman with no visitors.
A goddess pretending not to be afraid.
She felt Noah the moment he hesitated outside the neurology ward.
Noah was not meant to pause.
He was not meant to look twice.
Grace had chosen him because he was perfect in his emptiness. A demon who followed rules without resentment. A collector who never questioned the list she gave him. He had lived among humans for years and remained untouched.
Until Freya.
Grace exhaled slowly. It hurt more than it should have.
She had known the girl's name long before Noah ever did.
It was supposed to be simple. but now its getting complicated. She haven't expected that.
"Not yet," she whispered.
somehow, Grace felt something twist inside her.
For centuries, she had watched humans pray. Beg. Bargain. She had listened with compassion, but never interference. A goddess of balance could not afford favoritism.
Grace turned her gaze inward again, to Noah. He stood frozen in a hallway, fighting a feeling he did not have words for. He would deny it later. He always denied first.
Grace's lips curved into something that was not quite a smile.
"This is dangerous," she murmured to the empty room.
This is dangerous for an demon to have feelings or felt anything towards human.
" My child you're going to be okay, I think so. " She said.
Grace felt something strange to her throat and suddenly vomitted blood. " Doctor, run towards room 407 an emergency patient is their needed to be treat ". nurse said
She was treated in ICU realising why humans ask her to have a long life and less pain and struggle. As she decided to born in human body for this life she experienced all the human stuffs. That's quite struggling.
Because if a demon could learn to love a dying girl,
then maybe fate itself was not as fixed as she had believed.
And if that was true—
Everything was about to change.🍃
