The village chief shook his head and turned back but just as he did one of the old men spoke.
"Fire..." His voice was filled with disbelief and astonishment.
The village chief didn't understand what he meant so he looked towards him and seeing his widened eyes looking towards the cave he turned around again and what entered his eyes was a brightly lit cave covered in vines. "How?"

The sudden explosive fire due to breaking 40 stalks was enough to engulf the flower and Kael into blazing flames and right now both were burning.
This was the only method he had come up with and it seemed to be the only option to clear the trial. The most difficult part of the trial for him was to make a choice to die or not.
It was to take the risk of the unknown. He didn't know how others would have fared in this trial. Maybe they would have never thought in the direction where they literally had to do suicide to pass the trial.
They might have tried to kill the flower but with the methods which were bound to fail. They might have gone to find a stash of flaming grass but he doubted they would have succeeded.
Slowly his consciousness was drifting into an unconscious state as the pain was too much for him to bear and when he was about to pass out he heard the voice he was hoping for all the time.

Just as he heard that he appeared inside a vast open space filled with nothing but eight humongous orbs floating in the sky with faint brilliance. Everywhere he could see was pure nothingness.
This was the space of Genesis. No one knew what it was but humans had found some glyphs in one of the destroyed planets that Genesis was a power created to fight corruption.
The reason it was an acceptable truth was because it was what they were really doing till now.

Kael immediately felt a soothing sensation as his body got filled with Genesis energy, an energy which defied all the laws of nature.

Immediately Kael felt his eyes blur and suddenly he found himself lying on the ground. He looked at the sky filled with stars and sighed in relief. Finally, he was back.
He immediately put his hand on his heart to check his wound. There was none. Only his jacket and t-shirt were damaged. He pushed himself to sit down and the first thing he did was to check the fallen Genesis crystal which he got from the government.
He sighed in relief when he found it near him. This would sell for a good price. For a poor person like him, it was a fortune.
After getting a little calm he finally summoned his status again.

It was hard to believe when there was no news of anyone clearing it. He looked at it one more time and put his attention on the chosen one. He willed to know more about it. Maybe he could get some information about it. To his surprise it did give new information.
