To increase the rank of his bloodline he had to absorb bloodline crystals which were different from the bloodline acquisition crystal. These were obtainable by killing any corrupted creatures or even humans who had assimilated with bloodline crystals.
He looked towards the tentacle and was a little surprised as it had withered. 'So it really contained bloodline for one-time use.'
Was this whole setup really exclusively for him? Who was the one who marked him? The fact that the gods sacrificed themselves eons ago meant that this was planned at that time. Was something like this really possible?
The main question was, should he be concerned or not? Was there some other event which was pre-planned or something like that?
He hoped dearly that it wasn't the case.
Just one event like this was enough to kill him two times in one day. Wait, wasn't his trait literally him being not dying?
Kael became dumbfounded. Was he some premium bait or something?
'Sigh... no point in thinking too much.' He stood up and immediately felt explosive strength inside his body.
He felt it more thoroughly since he hadn't only ascended in the class of his core but also got a bloodline with the highest potential, even though the rank of his bloodline was only Feral right now. It gave far more strength than a bloodline which had only Feral potential.
Overall he had gotten very strong in the shortest time possible and it made him a little disoriented even in walking. He wasn't worried. It wouldn't take long before his body adjusted to his newfound strength.
He picked up the box with the spare Genesis crystal and stretched himself. "Happy birthday to me." He looked towards the bottom of the hill, where his home was, and began sprinting slowly to get a feel of his strength.
Slowly he increased his speed and was shocked inwardly at how fast he had become. The cold fresh air hitting his face was giving him a sense of freedom.
In this world strength was freedom in the truest sense so it was quite fitting indeed.

He reached shortly. His home was on the outskirts of this society where only reputable citizens of Ascended Earth lived. It wasn't in the core of the city as there was another level meant only for those almost royalty-like clans and houses.
The ones who had contributed the most from the beginning till date in saving the world.
Even among them four were considered the strongest, the four top clans of the current world. They were also those who had a portion of the Annihilator bloodline of the beast they had slain to save the Earth.
These four clans were also known as the unsaid rulers of the Earth. Nobody said it directly but it was the truth.
Kael shook his head. Thinking about it wouldn't change anything. He looked at his small house which was basically government property and had a very small lawn. He could live here but the truth was that it wasn't his own home.
Just as he entered a soft voice echoed in his ears.
"Welcome back."
It was the sound of an AI. Nowadays all houses had them. Kael, though, never trusted it since the government could easily spy with it.
Kael nodded. "Prepare the bathtub. I will take a dip."
His clothes were totally covered in dust due to him squirming on the ground.
"Alright."
Genesis energy hadn't only given humans a chance of Ascendance. It also opened paths to many impossible technologies which elevated Earth to a totally different level.
Corrupted creatures had something called corrupted cores. It was similar to Genesis cores of humans. Surprisingly these corrupted cores contained Genesis energy too.
Corrupted cores and Genesis cores were the only way to harness Genesis energy so they were highly sought materials.
All forms of technology to the Genesis shields which now protected this city from higher-class beasts were all powered by energy obtained from these cores.
And humans found these technologies from other destroyed worlds and reverse-engineered them while also using the stone of knowledge.
This was also the reason why after the initial Annihilator beast attack humans were able to survive on this planet as there came a few other strong creatures which could have ended humanity and the four strongest humans weren't enough to be present everywhere.
After the initial destruction of countries and continents only one city was made for humans to thrive. It was named Hope.
Hope to survive the calamity they were going through. After all, given the fact that even those worlds which had advanced so much were destroyed, what were their chances to survive? Humans could only hope while doing their best to overcome every calamity.
Nonetheless, slowly humans build four more cities encompassing the hope city in circle, these cities become main bases of four super clans and they handled the safety of those cities.
"Your bath is ready."
"Alright. Any new news I should be aware of?"
"Yes, but first congratulations on successfully awakening."
"Thanks."
"The news I am talking about is from Hope Academy. They are going to open their doors for the new rankers on the 10th of this month instead of next month."
Kael was surprised. Hope Academy was made for helping the humans who had successfully awakened their Genesis core to the Latent stage. The tiny step in the path of Ascendance.
After all these Latent humans were the future of Earth and the survival of humanity depended on them. They were termed as Latent as even though they had formed the core it wasn't fully developed to be called Awakened.
The first trial was a test of solitude. It was meant to awaken mainly the Trait of the trial taker.
Genesis core was only partially awakened. This was the reason why the core was called Latent core. It just helped humans to infuse Genesis energy inside their body superficially.
To awaken it fully and become Awakened was the next step in the path of Ascendance. But how could it be easy?
After doing deep research on Genesis energy humans had found one simple plausible explanation about Genesis. It wasn't proven since even the stone of knowledge didn't give knowledge about the purpose of Genesis.
It was that Genesis was made for one and only one thing, to defeat corruption and eradicate it from the whole universe.
