Chapter 11 - Voidstrider

It was evident from the fact that Kael wasn't getting forced to fuse with its blood. He had a choice. He could just leave right now and forget about it.

He was curious though. This tentacle had come from space or maybe from a far away place where corruption had already destroyed everything, so what was the strength of this creature.

Well, just for the sake of the fact that it came due to the Genesis crystal which gave him an Extreme trait, he would use the appraisal stone on it.

Summoning Genesis relics just needed a thought and a small white stone appeared in his hand.

He went near the tentacle and pointed the stone towards it and willed for its appraisal. Immediately the stone left his hand and vanished.

A small window different from his status window appeared with some knowledge which he began reading...

[Appraisal: This tentacle belongs to an Aberrant Annihilator creature known as Voidstrider. A creature strong enough to tread the void and survive absolute nothingness. It doesn't only walk in the void, its attack can erase matter into nothingness at its peak strength]

Kael's mouth was left wide open when he read the description. 'My eyes aren't fooling me right?' He didn't even care about the other information. His eyes were literally stuck at the Annihilator part.

Annihilator was the highest potential a creature could get. These creatures could literally be called mythical creatures. The strongest of all.

'Am I too lucky or too unlucky today...' Getting stabbed in the heart forcefully wasn't something he would consider lucky but other than it everything else was just his fortune.

He didn't wait and immediately took out the Bloodline Acquisition Crystal and placed it on the tentacle.

The crystal immediately burrowed inside and began creating a bloodline for him to fuse.

Kael sat down while calming himself. Fusing with a bloodline wasn't easy. There was a high chance he would fail.

The higher the potential of the bloodline was, the harder it was to make it submit. There was a reason why he hadn't heard about anyone fusing with the Annihilator beast that was slain on Earth last time.

It was said that it wasn't you who chose the bloodline but at Annihilator level, it was the bloodline which chose to stay with you or not.

Nonetheless, he would try. He just had to give his best. If he was able to fuse with it then his future would be limitless.

As he waited the crystal floated out. It was pure white before it entered inside the tentacle but right now it was pure black.

Kael took a deep breath and held the crystal. It was time for him to feel one more immense pain.

Changing bloodline was too painful as described by those who had gone through it. It was even more prominent when the potential of the bloodline was higher, so he was mentally preparing himself to feel yet another round of pain today.

The time passed in the first trial usually took 10 minutes in the outer world, so from getting stabbed to walking on thorny vines to getting burned alive, everything had happened today. Now getting his blood destroyed would happen today too.

Initially he had thought to get a bloodline later when he went to the academy. You could buy your initial bloodlines and later when you found a good one, you could change it.

Now how could he miss this chance. He immediately brought the crystal to his arm and after taking one long breath, he stabbed it inside.

SHKKKK!

"Unghh..." The pain from stabbing wasn't much but immediately the place he stabbed got darkened and he gritted his teeth as immense numbing pain spread from his hand to his whole body.

He could feel his whole body heating up intensely as if something was destroying his insides by burning them.

"Dammiiitttt..."

The pain kept increasing and his eyes began blurring and immediately they shut down and his perception got shifted. The pain disappeared and he opened his eyes to find himself in another space like his soul space.

'What the...' He was floating right now and everywhere he could see was darkness as if nothing was present here. 'Is this the void?'

Just as he thought that, a slit tore open in front of him and a dark grey circle with a black sphere encompassed inside became visible to him.

'Is that an eye?'

It was a humongous single eye and it was currently looking at him.

Kael felt an inherent dread from a creature of this strength but since he knew that it wasn't real and his title wasn't earned because he got scared easily, he didn't react much.

He didn't know what was happening but as long as he didn't feel that pain happening inside his body, he would like to stay here for a little longer.

Alas the moment he thought that his perception returned to his body and it was at the point where the pain was highest due to him successfully fusing with the bloodline and his original blood getting destroyed to accept the new blood.

"Arrghhhhhh... Fuck"

He could only cry right now as he fell down on the ground squirming while feeling intense pain.

This went on for about a few minutes and finally the pain started waning from Kael's body as he exhaled in exhaustion. 'Burning alive was better than this shit.'

His body started to cool down and he felt a soothing sensation. He also felt that his strength had increased a little further. It was a little surprising as Voidstrider didn't seem like a physical type beast.

"Everything else aside, I succeeded, Yessss..." Now that everything was over he shouted in excitement. It felt like he had been reborn new today.

He immediately summoned his status again.
