EXT. CITY PARK – DUSK
Kelvin sits on a bench.
Guitar beside him.
Head in hands.
He hums faintly, almost to himself.
A shadow approaches: Mira.
She stops a few feet away.
Kelvin senses her presence.
Doesn't look up.
MIRA OKAFOR
Kelvin…
Kelvin lifts his head slowly.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
Mira… I—
She steps closer, firm, eyes glistening.
MIRA OKAFOR
Stop. Let me speak first.
Kelvin nods silently.
MIRA OKAFOR (CONT'D)
You've spent seven years waiting for someone who broke your heart.
Yet, the one who never left… you never saw her.
Kelvin flinches slightly.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
I… I thought I was helping her heal.
MIRA OKAFOR
By standing in the shadows?
By letting others break you while I held your hand silently?
Kelvin swallows. Heavy silence.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
I… I didn't notice.
Mira takes a step closer.
MIRA OKAFOR
Kelvin… I've loved you quietly.
Through every heartbreak, every rejection.
Even when you laughed at the world, I laughed with you… silently.
Kelvin lowers his gaze.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
Mira… I—
She interrupts.
MIRA OKAFOR
No. Listen.
You need to hear this.
"Sometimes the heart waits,
but the eyes never see."
Kelvin exhales. Pain visible.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
I… I don't deserve you.
MIRA OKAFOR
You're not asking for that.
You just need to open your eyes.
EXT. PARK – COMEDIC INTERLUDE
A DOG runs past, tangling Mira's scarf around a lamp post.
She yelps.
Kelvin chuckles softly, despite himself.
The tension eases slightly, but the emotion remains.
EXT. PARK – SUNSET CONTINUES
Kelvin stands.
Mira stands too.
Wind blows.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
I saw them all…
the ones who left for money, for looks, for ease…
but I never saw the one who stayed.
Mira looks at him, eyes wide, silent.
KELVIN ADEYEMI (CONT'D)
I thought I was patient…
but I was blind.
MIRA OKAFOR
Patience without perception is just waiting.
Kelvin swallows. Heavy pause.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
I want… I don't know how to start.
MIRA OKAFOR
Start by being honest.
Kelvin takes a deep breath.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
Mira… I've loved you. Quietly, stupidly… blindly.
While I waited for the wrong heart… yours was here all along.
Tears form in Mira's eyes.
She steps closer.
MIRA OKAFOR
And what about now?
Kelvin extends a hand.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
Now… I see you.
I see everything.
I don't want to wait anymore.
I don't want to lose you to my own blindness.
Mira looks at his hand.
Long pause.
Then slowly takes it.
EXT. PARK – SUNSET
They stand hand in hand.
Wind blows.
Birds fly past.
Kelvin smiles.
Mira smiles back.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
I can't promise perfection.
I can promise honesty… and presence.
MIRA OKAFOR
I'll take that.
KELVIN (V.O.)
"The heart waits, but the eyes must follow.
Love isn't in the waiting; it's in the seeing."
EXT. CITY STREET – NIGHT
They walk side by side.
Street lights glow.
Kelvin hums softly.
🎵 SONG – "FINALLY SEEN" 🎵
I looked for love in every face
Every hand that slipped away
And in the shadow of my wait
I found the light I couldn't see
Mira hums along, soft smile.
EXT. PARK – NIGHT
They stop near the fountain.
Kelvin kneels briefly, jokingly bowing.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
All the songs I sang for the world…
they never meant as much as the one I sing for you.
Mira laughs softly.
MIRA OKAFOR
Finally.
Took you long enough.
Kelvin smiles, relieved, emotional.
FADE OUT – NIGHT SKY.
