INT. FRIENDS' HANGOUT – NIGHT (CONTINUOUS)
Music continues.
Kelvin finishes singing "ATM LOVE."
Laughter fades into chatter.
Kelvin steps aside, leaning against a wall.
He exhales.
The smile drops.
No one notices.
Except Mira.
She watches him from across the room.
She stands.
Moves toward him.
Stops halfway.
Sits back down.
EXT. STREET – NIGHT
Kelvin walks alone.
Streetlights flicker.
A group of GIRLS passes, whispering and laughing.
One turns back.
Smiles at Kelvin.
Kelvin nods politely.
Keeps walking.
INT. SMALL ART GALLERY – DAY
Kelvin's drawings hang on white walls.
Visitors admire them.
Phones snap pictures.
TESSY WILLIAMS steps closer to a portrait.
Kelvin approaches.
She turns.
Smiles.
They walk side by side.
She laughs.
Kelvin laughs.
They stop.
She looks at the portrait again.
Kelvin looks at her.
Hope flickers.
Her phone vibrates.
She checks it.
Her smile changes.
She hugs Kelvin quickly.
Steps back.
Leaves.
Kelvin remains.
Still.
KELVIN (V.O.)
"Being admired is not the same as being chosen."
EXT. BUS STOP – EVENING
Kelvin sits beside NADIA KING.
Traffic noise.
They sit close.
She leans in.
Kelvin stiffens slightly.
She smiles.
Then stands.
A CAR pulls up.
A WELL-DRESSED MAN steps out.
Nadia waves.
She looks back at Kelvin.
Smiles apologetically.
Leaves.
Kelvin watches the car drive off.
He looks at the empty seat.
INT. FRIENDS' HANGOUT – DAY (COMEDY BEAT)
Dan Kay mimics Kelvin dramatically.
DAN KAY
(acting, exaggerated)
"She said I'm special."
Friends laugh.
Kelvin forces a laugh.
Dan bows.
DAN KAY
Guy, you too serious.
Kelvin nods.
Smiles.
Looks away.
INT. MIRA OKAFOR'S ROOM – NIGHT
Mira listens to Kelvin's old recordings.
She smiles at first.
Then presses STOP.
Silence.
She places the phone face down.
Stares at the ceiling.
EXT. OPEN FIELD – SUNSET
Kelvin sits alone with his guitar.
He strums without singing.
Stops.
Closes the guitar case.
Leaves it behind.
Walks away.
INT. CAFÉ – DAY
Kelvin sits across AMARA BENSON.
Sunlight pours in.
She smiles warmly.
Kelvin smiles back.
Time passes.
Their cups empty.
Kelvin leans forward.
He waits.
She waits.
She sighs.
EXT. PARK – NIGHT
Kelvin and Amara walk slowly.
Trees sway.
Streetlights glow.
They stop.
She turns to him.
He looks hopeful.
She hesitates.
AMARA BENSON
You understand me.
Kelvin nods.
Steps closer.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
Then stay.
A long pause.
She exhales.
Steps back.
AMARA BENSON
I can't build a future on talent alone.
Kelvin swallows.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
Talent doesn't fade.
She looks at him.
Soft.
Firm.
AMARA BENSON
Poverty doesn't rest.
She walks away.
Kelvin remains.
He sits on a bench.
The park empties.
Night deepens.
KELVIN (V.O.)
"People fear struggle more than loneliness."
INT. KELVIN ADEYEMI'S ROOM – NIGHT
Dark.
Kelvin enters.
Drops his keys.
Sits on the floor.
Leans against the bed.
Stares.
The guitar stands untouched.
He reaches for it.
Stops.
Pulls his hand back.
INT. FRIENDS' HANGOUT – DAY (COMEDY THROUGH PAIN)
Kelvin sits quietly.
Oscar Bello nudges him.
Kelvin looks up.
Oscar gestures for him to speak.
Kelvin stands.
Clears his throat.
Everyone quiets.
Kelvin smiles.
Shrugs.
Sits back down.
Laughter breaks out awkwardly.
Kelvin laughs too late.
INT. MIRA OKAFOR'S ROOM – NIGHT
Mira opens her diary.
Reads silently.
Closes it.
Holds it to her chest.
Tears fall.
She doesn't wipe them.
INT. KELVIN ADEYEMI'S ROOM – NIGHT
Kelvin lies on his bed.
Stares at the ceiling.
His phone lights up.
A text from Mira.
Kelvin looks at it.
Doesn't open it.
Turns the phone face down.
