Kelvin sits on the edge of the bed.
Mira's image still lingers in his mind from the street performance.
He opens an old box under the bed.
Inside:
– Old notebooks
– School ID cards
– A faded photograph
He picks up the photograph.
A YOUNGER KELVIN smiles beside a GIRL in school uniform.
Her name is ELLA MORGAN.
Kelvin exhales slowly.
KELVIN (V.O.)
"Some love doesn't leave.
It just changes shape."
FLASHBACK – EXT. SECONDARY SCHOOL COMPOUND – DAY
Younger Kelvin sits under a tree.
Books open.
Ella sits beside him.
Kelvin explains something with enthusiasm.
She laughs.
YOUNG ELLA MORGAN
School daddy, slow down.
Young Kelvin smiles proudly.
YOUNG KELVIN
If you pass, I pass.
They laugh.
FLASHBACK – INT. CLASSROOM – DAY
Kelvin tutors Ella.
Other students tease them.
Kelvin ignores it.
Focused.
Protective.
FLASHBACK – EXT. SCHOOL GATE – EVENING
Kelvin walks Ella home.
She stops.
Looks nervous.
YOUNG ELLA MORGAN
Kelvin… I have a boyfriend.
Kelvin freezes.
Forces a smile.
YOUNG KELVIN
That's okay.
I just want you to do well.
She nods.
Leaves.
Kelvin watches her go.
BACK TO PRESENT – INT. KELVIN ADEYEMI'S ROOM – NIGHT
Kelvin rubs his face.
The memory weighs heavy.
FLASHBACK – EXT. SCHOOL COMPOUND – DAY (YEARS LATER)
Ella sits alone.
Crying.
Kelvin approaches.
Concerned.
ELLA MORGAN
He broke my heart.
Kelvin sits beside her.
Silent.
Supportive.
YOUNG KELVIN
I'm here.
She leans on his shoulder.
FLASHBACK – EXT. QUIET STREET – EVENING
Kelvin walks Ella home again.
Older now.
More serious.
YOUNG KELVIN
I've liked you for a long time.
Ella stops.
Looks at him.
Tired.
ELLA MORGAN
Please… give me time.
I need to heal.
Kelvin nods immediately.
No argument.
YOUNG KELVIN
I'll wait.
MONTAGE – SEVEN YEARS PASSING
– Kelvin graduates.
– Kelvin sings at small events.
– Kelvin texts Ella.
– "How are you?"
– "Take your time."
– Kelvin waits.
– Ella grows distant.
– Kelvin keeps waiting.
– Mira appears in the background of Kelvin's life, quietly present.
KELVIN (V.O.)

Music.
Laughter.
Kelvin searches the crowd.
Sees Ella.
Pregnant.
Laughing with a SENIOR STUDENT from back then.
Kelvin stops walking.
Frozen.
FLASHBACK – INT. QUIET CORNER – NIGHT
Kelvin and Ella stand alone.
YOUNG KELVIN
You said you needed time.
Ella avoids his eyes.
ELLA MORGAN
Life happened.
Silence.
YOUNG KELVIN
Seven years.
She swallows.
ELLA MORGAN
I didn't ask you to wait.
That sentence lands like a blow.
Kelvin nods.
Once.
Steps back.
BACK TO PRESENT – INT. KELVIN ADEYEMI'S ROOM – NIGHT
Kelvin drops the photograph back into the box.
Closes it.
His hands tremble slightly.
KELVIN (V.O.)
"The longest waits teach the shortest lessons."
INT. FRIENDS' HANGOUT – NIGHT (COMEDY THROUGH PAIN)
Kelvin jokes louder than usual.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
If waiting was money, I for don buy mansion!
Laughter erupts.
Mira forces a smile.
Her eyes search his face.
EXT. FRIENDS' HANGOUT – NIGHT
Mira confronts Kelvin gently.
MIRA OKAFOR
You don't have to carry old wounds alone.
Kelvin waves it off.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
Old stories no dey pay rent.
She looks hurt.
MIRA OKAFOR
But they're still bleeding you.
Kelvin stiffens.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
I'm fine.
He walks away.
Mira remains.
INT. MIRA OKAFOR'S ROOM – NIGHT
Mira sits quietly.
Surrounded by memories of Kelvin's journey.
She whispers to herself.
MIRA OKAFOR (V.O.)
"Loving someone who can't see you
is like singing to the deaf sky."
EXT. EMPTY STAGE – NIGHT
Kelvin stands alone.
Spotlight on him.
No audience.
He sings.
🎵 SONG – "SEVEN YEARS" 🎵
I waited while seasons changed
Watched my hope rearrange
Seven years, still standing still
Loving you against my will
His voice cracks at the end.
Silence answers him.
INT. BACKSTAGE – NIGHT
Kelvin sits.
Head in hands.
Mira stands at the doorway.
Watching.
She doesn't enter.
She chooses to wait.
KELVIN (V.O.)
"Some people are lessons.
Others are blessings we overlook."
