Lara's POV
The moment I saw that fist connect with Austin's jaw, I was already moving to stand. My chair scraped against the floor as I watched him stumble backward from the unexpected blow.
Alpha Irina took a step forward, then immediately retreated as Austin doubled over and hurled his breakfast all over his attacker. My hand flew to cover my mouth, torn between nausea and the urge to laugh at the poetic justice of it all. That amusement died quickly when the guy recovered and lunged at my mate with murder in his eyes.
This time I shot to my feet completely, but Austin had already anticipated the second attack. He sidestepped with surprising grace, and his assailant slipped on the puddle of vomit, crashing to the ground in a humiliating heap.
