Austin's POV
The week flows by in peaceful rhythm, and once Lara's injuries fade completely, I make sure she knows exactly how relieved I am to see her whole again.
The weekend stretches before us like a gift. We sleep past dawn, let our wolves chase each other through the forest trails, pour over textbooks together, share meals, and lose ourselves in each other's bodies.
The sex is incredible. Mind-blowing doesn't begin to cover it. Sure, I came here to forge myself into an unstoppable warrior, and so did she, but grinding through intense training becomes so much more bearable when you have someone to unwind with afterward.
Sunday evening creeps up on us, and part of me wants to ignore the approaching Monday classes. Only part of me, though. I've been flipping through our semester textbooks, and hope keeps flickering in my chest that somewhere in all these pages lies the key to shattering Lara's forced alliance bond.
