"You mean the guy who built this town from a story book the guy who's called the master of illusions and his ability keeps all the nether beasts of the fallen nation of London at bay the same being who no one has ever seen his true form "Colin countered with "but you have seen it" Charon looked at him in shook "the billboards advertisements don't count they change every day a few months back it was a redhead advertising about some fitness training".
Colin looked at him with a serious then said "No the day of the accident l was told that was the first time he appeared on screen but no could tell the difference except you a person who was at deaths door what did you see that day".
Charon was silent for a few seconds recalling the events which brought up one of his questions how long has it been since then by the way he was healed he could speculate maybe a day or two but by how Camelot looks like now maybe a year but that would also be impossible since
"Wait there's only one logical solution its either am dead and am currently being tortured by that imposter in his realm or Camelot has always been like this".
Colin snapped his fingers and said "Correct you've been living in an illusion this entire time think about it heavens warriors creating an Ark this far from the other champions and not a lot of people can make it here there except "Charon added "the ones who were already here wait my family died in the why can't l remember my dad's name even mom had siblings didn't l?" Wallowing in his own confusion of fragmented memories Charon went on his knees and holding his head as if it was about to explode muttering like a mad man.
"There's only one way to know for sure will just ask the guy himself can you keep it together long enough to reach him" Charon nodded " any way lets go we don't want to be here till actual night fall got any suggestion "Charon looked at him with blood coming out of his eyes and said "the rising sun inn l cant guarantee safety but there were rumours of relics hidden in the basement it could be heavy guarded but am sure that cane of yours can get us through"
After picking himself up and wiping away the blood coming from his eyes they headed towards the inn.
In that moment Charon looked at Colin then asked "So was the professor Adams real at all" Colin simply kept walking and said "Yes but he died a long time ago l was simply using his corpse to get closer to uryan but he caught on it seems hence the ambush he probably knows that where coming so anyone me meet from this point onwards is an enemy or worse a beast disguised as a person".
"Wait so this place has been like this for years everyone living with nether beasts some disguised as humans". Charon said in shock.
"Your partially correct he and his group went around enslaving beasts and putting them here but they could die from starvation so he offered people a sanctuary in actuality just a feeding ground making them more docile and following orders want to guess how he feed them" Colin hinted at the billboard.
"Wait you mean those shitty adverts weren't about his ego but just feeding the corpses to the beasts".
"Well both actually if a certain amount of people gather in one place the smell could lore even more beasts in their direction so the execution unit job is to eliminate the cause of the disturbance before the beasts run rampant since they can't tell the difference between real people and beasts they kill everything on sight".
"So his feeding the beasts and killing them at the same time to prove dominance whilst protecting the people so they don't over feed them and become wild again his actions kind of contradict the other why does he need the beasts to begin with".
Colin added on by saying "There are two reasons for first to make them evolve and he would have army nether beasts probably the best assassins known to humanity he plans to use send them to the other champions Arks forcing the citizens to migrate from there to here one of the safest places Camelot the second is to gain favour from an angel the ones left any way".
"But didn't he already have favour from an angel?"
"He did but it was killed by the seraphim the highest ranking angels this happened two years ago before this madness".
"You didn't quite finish the second reason what does he need the favour for exactly"
Colin stopped and faced with a serious look in his eyes and said "What else revenge l heard this from a friend that two years ago uryan's sister was killed by a leviathan a rare nether beast which can evolve by feeding of beings possessing divinity he was tasked to see how much it had evolved to see if he could capture it and if he failed it needed to be killed which they succeeded in but they were only able to take its heart which they lost returning to Camelot after suffering heavy loses that's when his sister died"
Charon asked "So he just wants to avenge her by killing even more people and creating an army of abominations to gain favour from an angel"
"Your right but you missed something" Colin turned around and started walking towards the inn and he said "The reason he wants the favour is that he was promised that they could bring back his sister from the dead and he could rule the what's left of the world as he saw fit but in return he must create an army and kill the champions".
"Wait the blacksmith knew all this even the deal" Charon asked
"No that was from a uryan himself we had a little chat you see but things didn't go as planned and he killed the Adams well he was already dead so it doesn't count the only problem here is that we need to find out which angel gave him this deal that right now his still weak and as you can see the illusions are becoming undone so we attack tomorrow". Colin said that with confidence.
Charon looked at him then said "You know he still has an army of nether beasts and relics of untold power not to mention his team and those demented knights there's just two of us"
Colin stopped walking as we were now facing the entrance of the inn which seemed rundown the sign had claw marks on it and the ground was littered with empty rifle shells from outside it looked completely empty no in sight Colin said "If l remember correctly you've got a meeting with that healer fellow might be a good time to use that" He smiled as he opened the door to the inn within a moment a sword was pointed at his face.
